Great place to get the parts for your Buell and Tim is very knowledgeable about Buell motorcycles.

I'm sure some have had a good experience with them. Ours not so much. We ordered parts in November to winterize our Harley. Finally received them today January 27th 2017. After many phone calls and conversations with them telling us one part was back ordered, which we understood to a point. I've been in business before and there is usually more than one outlet for parts to be ordered from which was the last conversation we had with them. And then it ended up being the wrong part which was cheaper than what we originally ordered Yicks. We're tired of the hassle with parts department so we decided to eat it. Good thing there are other dealerships.

Salesman Mike was awesome and super helpful. Clothing selection a bit limited, as is the used bike selection, but the new bikes are great and the people were very helpful.

I know I had to pick a specific department, so I chose the one I deal with the most, but in all honesty everyone in every department is friendly and very helpful. I bought my most recent bike from them and I would recommend them for everything they offer. I have never had a bad experience and I will continue to be their customer.

First time I visited zylstra I was pleasantly surprised how willing and nice the entire staff was compared to other competitors. Clint was one of the best salesmen ive ever had the pleasure in dealing with, because of clint and the rest of the staff on how I was treated I traded my Indian in on a new harley and I would recommend anyone to this place they're alittle smaller but they treat you a lot better than other competitors, thanks guys.

Before I scheduled service they informed me on the discounts and benefits of their Gold Card .I was impressed by their upfront information . The service I had done was fast and people were great.

Took my 2000 wideglide in to get my speedometer issue diagnosed and fixed. After waiting a week to hear back from them even when I had an appointment scheduled, they told me it was my speedometer itself that needed replaced.

I was slightly hesitant because from my own judgement I thought it was just the speed sensor. Another 3-4 days go by after me calling asking if the bikes fixed (planned to take bike out to sturgis the upcoming Friday) and finally I get an answer saying replacing the speedometer didn't work.

Given my situation and having the bike in there for 2 weeks already I had to go back and pick the bike up unfixed so I could have it for sturgis. Before I leave the shop with the bike they tell me that they would follow up with me to have it brought back in an re-diagnosed at no charge to get speedometer fixed, but I never heard back from them and when I did call no one seemed to remember anyone saying anything about the follow up service.

Highly discouraged and worried something more serious was wrong with the bike I took it to another harley service center and had the bike fixed in two days. The fix? Speed sensor.

Will definitely be hesitant before taking my bike back for service here again even given the convenience of being 5 minutes from my home.

Just bought a 2003 Anniversary Edition Electra Glide Ultra Classic from Brant. The experience was no muss, no fuss! Even when I tried to ruffle some feathers by shouting GO HAWKS after ringing the bell...lol

We broke down on i35 in Iowa they picked up my friends bike ,replaced a faulty voltage regulator and charged the battery. Had us on the road to sturgis within 3hrs .thx to the staff. The parts girl for flying for a regulator, and service for staying over to get us on the road.

The service folks that I spoke with were great. I love coming down to talk to the people at Zylstra HD. They go the extra mile to make sure you and your bike are taken care of."

Located near I-35 with a great bike selection. Seems like inventory changes often and staff was eager to help with my needs. Excellent used bike selection as well.

I contacted Zylstra H-D to purchase some chrome bolts for the sprocket cover on my 98 FXDL. Tim Hackbart responded and was extremely helpful and we got the bolt set ordered in no time. I will deal with Zylstra s again.

Well a sale guy came out and and hopped on the bike we were looking at to move it. Then he said hi to us and told us that if we had any questions he would be inside because it was too hot out there with all their inventory.

Very poor selection of T- Shirts in 2xx or 3 or 4. My.Guess they only order once a year..over half shelves were empty Kinda odd when getting 30-50$ for a shirt..yea think you'd stock your shelves

Absolutely horrible... I went there one time. Now I'm repeatedly being spammed by them over email and phone even after I asked them to stop. I will never go back.

Start to finish... fantastic experience! Very much worth the drive north. Everyone and everything was spot on! This is an experience I will not forget, and one I will share with many! I look forward to the servicing, add on parts, and eventually buying another from Zylstra Harley Davidson. The 5 stars was earned and again well deserved. Kudos! Thank you!

The entire staff at Zylstra was wonderful when I came to purchase my first Harley. The process was smooth, they listened, they were helpful, and they gave me a great deal. I plan on coming back here for all my bikes in the future, along with any other service I need. I feel fortunate to work with Zylstra and to feel so cared-for during my first bike purchase!

I won't tell you this place is cheap. It's not. But it is quality! And that's what Harley is about. My interactions with the sales and service staff has been excellent. They are helpful without being pushy. You can browse and not feel pressured by sales staff. They also provide some great events and knowledge.

No pressure sales men and women plus excellent service

I had a wonderful experience at Zylstra's. I was having problems with my front speakers on my Street Glide and I thought I had blown my front amp. I went in to buy a new front amp and they were able to check it. It was not the amp. He told me to put my bike back together and bring it in. They did some updates on the radio and found a blown fuse that fixed my problem. My bill was zero and I was treated like a long lost friend. Thank you for the excellent service!

Always have to get an HD tee from each Harley shop we go by

Do not purchase a bike from these clowns it started out good then it went to hell real fast.Issue one the paper plate expired before I received the new plate took over a month to get the new plate bike had to sit for a weeks no plate.Then they were giving lifetime oil changes for the bike they tried to renege on that because the manager was not authorised to do this to bad thats why i purchased the bike after 4 phone calls and a threat to take them to court they gave it to me.The last one was the best they were suppose to take my old hitch off and give it to me the salesman said no problem as we can not put it on any Harleys per HD well after 6 phone calls they finally took the hitch off my old bike told me to come and get it. when I picked up the hitch they were charging me $250.00 to take it off the cost of a new hitch at JP is $250.00 at this time I Am working with HD to get the hitch if you deal with them you must get it in writing a handshake doesn't work do not trust Zylstra.Just go to big barn they will treat you good.

Clean store not very big. There were a few staff members who never once asked me if I needed any help or greeted me even after walking around for 10 minutes :-(

Very horrible customer service. Trying to buy a new Street Glide CVO.
Internet manager would not return calls or send me photos. Sales manager wouldn't return calls after he told me he would. I am a business owner and would not want my business operated this way. I am purchasing a 2017 Street Glide by the end of 2016.

Had my bike in for service, Scott and the department were great! Had me up and going in no time, he called to give me updates throughout the entire repair process. And the tech, Bryce,did great work! They even made it look new again after the service was done. All in all a 10/10. I wouldnt take my bike anywhere else!

On bike number 2 from the zylstra guys loved working with Matt and the sales team was introduced to the owner. The service dept and parts. Was kept in the loop on every part of.my purchase. Service interval were explained in full detail. I will let every one in my dealing know about this hidden gem in ames. Would highly recommend them to everyone . All needs were met and surpassed.

I'd give them 0 stars if it were an option. The worst experience I've ever had purchasing a motorcycle. They have horrible customer service. They take no ownership in their mistakes. They're rude and condescending. They go back on their word. They lied on a contract we had with them and then laughed at us when we confronted them about it.

Best dealership not only in Central Iowa but the entire state. Went above and beyond to take care of it's customers. I had a motorcycle stored with them and received military orders at the last minute and their team bent over backwards to ensure I was taken care of. I am a forever customer.

I ordered a battery, they had to ship it in. Waited a week for it to arrive. Went in to get it the following week and they either sold it or put it in another bike. The parts person couldn t tell me what happened to it. Never apologized for the inconvenience. Awful customer service

I found Zylstra in Ames on accident when searching for a new bike. I am from MN, there are plenty of dealerships closer to me that I could have purchased from but from day 1 Zylstra took great care of me! When inquiring about the 2020 Street Glide Jeff sent me a personalized video of the bike inviting me to come in & check it out, from the text messages and phone calls I never felt like I was just another customer, It wasn't just about the sale. They were more concerned with building a relationship and making sure my buying experience was top notch! When picking up my bike I had the opportunity to meet with the Parts guys, Service department & the finance manager. I had great conversation and experience with all of them! Zylstra Harley in Ames IA might not be the biggest nor the most fancy Harley Dealership around but I assure you they compete with the best of them when it comes to customer service & experience when purchasing a bike! I am happy I made the 8 hour round trip drive to purchase my 2020 Street Glide Special from the Guys & Girls in Ames Iowa!
