Zucca Bar & Restaurant Review

Great local Italian place with pizza, calzones, and pasta. Always a go to when staying local.

Came in on a Sunday around 6pm. About 25% of the tables were occupied. We were seated promptly, but there was no sign of a waiter or waitress for about 10 minutes. The hostess had a clear view of us, but was spaced out in her own little world, and didn't make any effort to find us some service.

We proceeded to walk out, and the hostess just shrugged her shoulders and said, "sorry." She didn't make any effort to try to keep us there.

We hadn't been to this place in 2+ years because the service was absymal the previous time, but we were in the village and figured we'd give it another shot. This visit just solidified this place as the worst service in Smyrna.

If you want real, authentic Italian food without a bunch of boofs running the place, head to Mezza Luna down the street. We went there afterwards and our food came out in a shorter period of time than it took us to get a server at Pooca Zucca.

I've eaten here twice and the pizza is consistently good and is an actual New York style pizza. Service is fantastic as well. Not my favorite pizza place but one I'll go back to.

Best pizza in town. Service was fantastic. Recommend the pesto pizza and the ultimate pie.

Lived in the neighborhood for a year and have been here at least 10 times. Never have I had a bad experience until today. The server, Addison, was pretty much invisible. Not once did my daughter and I receive a simple napkin. I found some by the outside bar and deliberately laid them on the table to see if I would get a reaction. Nothing. Not once did we receive silverware. Luckily we had pizza and a sandwich but would have been nice to have a server at least ask if we needed it. Not once was I asked if I needed ketchup for my fries so I went to another table who had just left and grabbed theirs. My second beer was ordered midway through my meal. I received it after my daughter said she was ready to go which was easily 20 min later. I consider myself very easy to please and I always tip 20% unless I experience something like this. Needless to say I was not that generous. I will mention there was a table of 25 next to us and their server was awesome as I witnessed her in and out quadruple the times my server was for my measly table of 2. She actually even brought my food as well! Step it up and I may be back next year.

So I ordered a Pizza for delivery and called because it was late and both the manager and the first guy i spoke to were INCREDIBLY RUDE!! I It was going to be my first time eating there well I will never go somewhere where they treat their customers so poorly.

Friendly staff and good food. I only gave it 4 stars because someone was smoking next to where I was sitting outside. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. It is delicious.

The lunch special was pretty solid. The pizza was very good too!

Good pizza, beer, wine and service. Top shelf's are close enough to where you kind read the labels so it's a small spot... But it's intimate enough to have a private conversation and be in your own world...

They used to be better and the size of the pasta used to be worth the money. Pasta was $22 and the container isn't filled. I would still come back but it's not going to be my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice.

Good selection and specials list! We enjoyed fresh piping hot burgers and fries on this visit. My only dislike was that you can smell the cigarette smoke from the bar nextdoor in certain parts of the restaurant.

Ordered 2 pizzas crust over done and the topping were only covering 2/3s from the center to about 3.5 inches from the outer ring on large sized. They were tasty but not worth the price.

No service after waiting 10 min. We had to look for a server who paid us no attention.

Zucca always delivers satisfying food. My favorite is the chicken parmesan. The cutlet is large enough to share and fried perfectly with a great basic red sauce.

Also love the chopped wedge salad. This is also shareable and full of bacon and homemade blue cheese dressing.

The pizza is thin, New York style and tasty.

Took the family here to celebrate my birthday. One of the best pizzas I have had in a long while. Service was great and we sat on the patio enjoying the sunset.

I celebrated my PhD today in this fine place. I am glad to say that we had a incredible evening and the restaurant was unquestionably the reason for this outstanding evening. The team contributed in a gorgeous style, the cooking was great and my guests were extremely delighted. We shall no dout return for more joyful events. thanks very much.

Soooooo glad I found this spot! It was a normal Wednesday night of the family not knowing what they wanted to eat. I suggested this place because it had a variety of items that should please everyone, and it did!

Buffalo chicken sandwich is huge! The flavor is as well. Great sandwich! Cut it in half and take the rest home for lunch the next day.

Chicken Cordon Bleu was reinvented, smothered in a marsala sauce, you almost forget that you're eating an old classic. Delicious!

Salmon over risotto, like, how can you get this wrong? You can't! And they didn't! A lovely, light dish.

This is a kid friendly environment and the helpings and quality of the food on the kid menu is just as good as the food for the adults.

I highly recommend this location. Check out the daily specials and make it a weekly treat.

Just had another outstanding night at Zucca!!!. Each time I arrive I always receive a warm and friendly greeting from the bartenders and staff. I'm a sports fanatic, so the staff is always ready to put my game on the TV for me! The outside patio bar is great this time of year. Lots of TVs everywhere! The food is wonderful ! Try the eggplant rollatini..it's a winner!

Was a good experiance. Garlic cheese Bread was yummy. The Pizza was okay. Ground up sausage not my fav but had good taste. All in all rate it 7 out of 10

Great neighborhood eatery, make sure to check the daily specials, they've got a great deal on something most days!

We have been there twice in the last month and both times the food and service were excellent.

Always love coming here for a meal. The chicken marsala is the best I've had and for the best price, too!

Very cool and quite club after 9 PM . You can get the same night club style without the headache of the downtown seen . Good music great drinks half the price .

Went there for the first time the other day. That was the best white sauce I've ever had. The pasta and chicken were cooked well. The Sicilian pizza was good (maybe needed a bit more sauce). Pricing was a bit high but worth it. Yum.

Staff was friendly, pizza was okay, but nothing to write home about. The have a patio, but aren't dog-friendly.

Stromboli was amazing! Chicken chambota absolutely delicious, chicken tender & juicy. Spaghetti was really salty, reason I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5. Drinks tasty & reasonably priced. Will be back.

Disppointing, pizza was DRY and not very tasty. Have had a lot better slice for a lot less money.

First time at Zucca. Went to a lunchtime event for the daughter of a good friend and her business partners. In real estate and wanted to make their business known; Hunt Home Team. Zucca was good; good finger food. Would like to go back and try their pizza. Nice atmosphere.

This place feels like family! We have gotten to know a lot of the people here...the vibe is easy and the atmosphere is friendly. Note: there is the Tavern next door- smoking is allowed- a great convenience if you re dining with a smoker at Zucca. They can chill in the Tavern for a few. You may smell a little smoke right near the opening between the two places- but there are plenty of places to sit, including the patio! Soo.. choices:)
I want to name all my favs- people and food- but I wouldn t want to miss anyone or anything!

Yesterday was my first experience at Zucca and must say it was excellent!! The food was great, the staff was great. It was an awesome place for my wife and I to celebrate our 15 year anniversary.

This is the Chicken Parm that Peyton Manning sang about in the Nationwide commercial.

You think I'm kidding? Zucca makes the BEST chicken parm I've ever had, no contest. Order it with Linguine Alfredo (trust me). It is enough for two. I used to live near this restaurant and recently drove 30 minutes just to have the chicken parm. "Chicken parm, you taste so good...."

Our experience started out by sitting in the patio and seeing 2 out of the 3 tv sets set to Fox News. I mean, do they WANT to ruin your dining experience? All we saw was Trump this and Clinton that. People come to eat out to enjoy themselves not to talk politics or have it in their face while they're eating. And Fox News?? Why not play some ESPN or something? Ugh.
But after we got over that- our waitress messed up my order and also forgot to bring out the salad before one of our meals. The food was really off, just flat out not good. I think this place just had a real off day because we have eaten there once before and the experience was much better. We had some out of town family with us and we kind of regretted going taking them there for dining out.

Literally everytime I have went (which is quite often) the food is absolute perfection amd the staff is amazing!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The eggrolls are crunchy, cheesy perfection and the chicken parmesan stromboli is an absolute foodgasm!!! Beyond 5 stars from this chick!!!

I don't like to eat and I thought the food was delicious. So if you are a foodie you should love their menu. Very nice staff as well. I would describe them as genuinely friendly as opposed to someone working for a tip.

Pros: wait staff and customer service were fantastic!

Cons: don t order the calamari, garlic knots, eggplant rollitini, or baked ziti... well anything aside from the pizza. I m sorry, tasted like it was just thawed out.

I ll be there for pizza and drinks.

My husband and I frequent Zucca as a local spot to hangout, and enjoy ourselves and meet new people. The staff here is the best, weekend late night dancing is so much fun! If you are ever in the area you gotta check this place out! The service and experience speaks for it's self!

Love this place, bartenders are so nice and they really do care about you, drinks are so good and food can be better but still awesome place.

OMG it was amazing don't think I can eat one anywhere else now... I am just waiting for some time on my schedule so can go down and sit and try whatever they have to offer lol.

My husband and I came into the restaurant this evening, 8/1/20 at 7:30. A young man greeted us apologizing for the wait asking how we could be helped. I replied it s just the two of us and he replied saying indoor or out...I only have a single table at this time indoors. I say a single? I don t understand... A table for one? He replies, no there s enough for two. So I said great we ll take that. We re seated and 15 mins passes and there s no server who ever greets us. We notice the two tables around us are taken care of by a young female who checks in to make sure they re doing good, but never acknowledges my husband and I. So we politely get up and leave. As we leave we pass the same host that greeted us earlier...who never uttered one word as we leave. This was our first time visiting and our last. If you re servers are busy, they should at least acknowledge people sitting and waiting.

Wonderful service and amazing Victory Pie. The fresh mozzarella was so yummy. The garlic knots were good. We sat in the outside area which was nice.

I enjoyed the pizza! Tasty...fresh...good portion for a small. I would've preferred more tomato sauce, but I know next time I will request that. It was still a good meal. I'll be back.

My son and I had never been. Stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed the food. Atmosphere was nice and service was excellent. Glad I stopped by, will be back again.

Amazing gluten free crust! Try the victory. I believe that's the name of the pizza.

Came here with a group... Slow, rude service while not busy at all .... No refills ... One girl didn't even get her pizza!..... Charged incorrectly on top of it all. Don't waste your time here.

Service was a bit slow for lunch, but that appeared to be due to our individual waiter. The rest of the staff seemed to be a little quicker and more responsive to their tables. Pretty good pizzas, but I used to think they were a little better.

Great little spot. Food is a little under seasoned but nothing a few shakes of salt can't solve.

Despite being dead center in the wave of new construction and development originating from the new Mercedes Benz Stadium Zucca feels like a local bar for locals without false pretentiousness of bars like Neighbors and Hand in Hand. The waitstaff are extremely efficient and polite. The bartenders seem quite knowledgeable and happy to offer suggestions. Drinks are priced very well as evident next door with the long list of eager patrons trying their hand at Karaoke.

Good fast efficient service. Veggie stromboli was delicious.
