We got a recommendation from friends to visit the Magdeburg Zoo. We set out on this beautiful Thursday and were not disappointed. The park is very beautiful and well thought out. With the tour you can see all the animals and learn a lot about the respective species. Despite Corona measures, many animal houses can be entered. The children can discover and experience a lot. We were in the zoo for many hours and will also recommend the zoo to others!

We were very lucky today. Most of the animals were all very agile today, we were able to take a lot of beautiful pictures and had a lot of fun, the red pandas, the chimpanzees, lynxes, servals, African wild dogs, baboons, elephants, tigers and especially the white lion (the 3 small ones at Playing and romping).

We spend a vacation day at the zoo. A lot is currently being rebuilt and enclosures redesigned.
It is a very nice zoo with well-kept enclosures.
And mega great children's playground with a petting zoo.

Not so crowded and much cheaper than the competition in Lower Saxony's state capital. Children have free admission up to 15 years. Parking for the whole day 3 EUR, with season ticket only 2.50 EUR.

It was really great there. My husband and I were just thrilled. At least from the animals and how they live there. Everything is lovingly created. One has the impression that the animals are fine. As good as it can be in the context of this concept. The staff are friendly. In the area where you could see the smaller monkey groups up close, was a loving co-worker suburb. She spontaneously answered all questions. And given small anecdotes price. The only thing we did not like was this plan which should show you where you are. But probably we just were not able to understand how to read it :) it is definitely recommended there.

Great zoo. Well maintained facility. Great care and care of the animals. Price performance for entrance and size of the park / places of interest is unbeatable. Whether with wheelchair, stroller, bike, children's bike, wagon, etc. you can enter and look at everything. Many relaxation areas to relax. For children, something is offered on every corner z.b. Playgrounds, petting zoo, figures to climb, enclosure to enter, etc .... Only to be recommended !!!

We were in the zoo and were looking forward to a nice day. Unfortunately, a lot was built and most of the enclosures were empty. Where were the animals? Due to the construction, the signs did not make it clear. The animals that were there, were well maintained and had great facilities. Except for the elephants, these have been standing on minimal space for years. Currently they are preparing a new elephant house, but the old is unworthy. Simply animal cruelty, that unfortunately has nothing to do with clearance and space. I hope this gets better in the new house. Everything else was okay so far. Then we wanted to have lunch. We went to the lodge. Inside a wonderful African ambience, outside a spacious terrace. The offer left something to be desired. For children there was a normal tomato sauce with pasted pasta and rice pudding with applesauce, which unfortunately was not refilled. (12:30 pm, afternoon noon) The tomato sauce for which my child decided was unfortunately very spicy and the pasta only sticky and some already dried hard from standing. Otherwise there was still some grilled vegetables, mainly leeks left over. These were steaks or chicken drumsticks. Then you could choose between potatoes and rice. Sauces were almost empty. Except for ketchup. So you had to eat your food dry. It would have been a neater service and more variety. The beverage selection was nevertheless appropriate. There are also several ice creams and pastries. The prices kill one but for this quality. We then brought ice to the little house next to the petting zoo. There you have a large selection at humane prices. By the way, you can also get fries, currywurst or Viennese for a snack.
We will visit the zoo again after completion of the construction work. And hope for larger enclosures and increased quality in the lodge.

Didn't like it that much. It was very warm and the animals were understandably almost all gone. Not enough trees and shade. No ice cream stand or other treat for our granddaughter. It's a shame.
