Very well-kept area with a large park. Well-signposted paths to the individual enclosures and facilities. In the complex there is also a restaurant where you can settle down and enjoy a snack or a coffee in peace.

We were in October for the first time in the Magdeburg Zoo. It was very interesting for my daughter to see another zoo. I feel the zoo very family friendly. Price 13 incl child until 15y. The playground is a dream for big and small. Gastronomy is acceptable. Highlight were certainly the animals, which do not exist with us. Terrain is spacious, this felt very pleasant.

My children and I have been visitors to Zoo MD for years and can say: things are moving forward. The enclosures of the new Africambo area are not quite finished, but the attention to detail, which is otherwise so painfully lacking here, impressed me. Formerly a typically underpresented provincial zoo, it is (slowly) developing into a pearl in Magdeburg. It still seems to be a rocky road

We were last there 10 or 15 years ago. Since then a lot has happened. E.g. The new elephant house looks very nice. The animals make a healthy impression so far. The zoo reminds me a little of the Artis in Amsterdam.
A nice small to medium sized zoo.

Always worth a visit, if you were not there this year in 2018, the new Africa / Elephant area has become really great. The animals have a lot of space and the elephant house is a must for curious children and adults. Super class everything explains around the animal.

The white lion boys are too cute too.

We have been back in the Magdeburg Zoo for a long time. A lot has happened and it was a nice day we spent there. It is possible to park directly at the park to the entrance. At the cash desk you can borrow a "wagon" if needed for child and luggage. In the park itself you now follow a tour and also comes several times over snack opportunities. As in Leipzig, there is an Africambo Lodge for leisurely lunches and from there you can also watch animals. The new enclosures are much bigger. Especially elephant, lion, tiger, giraffe or monkey enclosure are now much more beautiful and natural. It was a really nice Famimienausflug.

One of the most beautiful zoos. I was impressed by the park-like facility with many enclosures integrated into the landscape. I especially like the new elephant landscape. A leap in the world compared to the old elephant enclosure. The elephant house is also impressive.

A mixture of nature and wildlife. An experience for the little ones. Of course, one should ask whether the keeping and care of the animals is appropriate for the species. However, if you don't go to the zoo, there is no money for larger facilities and supplies. A double-edged sword ...

A visit to the Magdeburg Zoo is well worth it. You can also bring your dog (s) in. This year it is celebrating its 70th anniversary. Many places are also being built to better accommodate and present the animals. The elephant enclosure is particularly impressive.

Here live many animals with behavioral problems in narrow, much too small and carelessly designed cages!

Questionable mass extinction among the giraffes and even more questionable marketing of the offspring on the Internet. On YouTube live transmission you could see how the animals were locked up in much too small foreclosed chambers for much of the day. Maybe you should invest the time and money for such strange advertising methods rather in the care and health of the animals? This zoo should no longer be able to keep and breed giraffes!

In general, no animals should be locked in zoos! They are protected in their homeland! To live here is an impertinence for the animals !!!

Very nice zoo with many rare species, e.g. White Lions, Tiger-tilis, Great Broadband-mermaid (Germany only in Magdeburg). Beautiful Africa plants of Africambo 1 with black rhinos (many breeding successes), giraffes, zebras, oryx-antelopes, waterbucks. Africambo 2 with the African elephants.

I was excited! It is not far and easy to find from the parking lot to the entrance. At the beginning there is a playground to allow the children to run around after a long drive. The complex is quite large and still easy to walk through. Animal lovers can find everything they want to see with the map. Here and there there is food at humane prices and the Africa Lodge is an eye-catcher! You can easily spend the whole day here with two small children without nausea or tears at affordable prices. Really worth it.

Very expensive everything here
Feeding the animal twice a day is not enough to inspire.
Please more animation and education by staff

A really nice zoo at reasonable prices. Especially a visit with children is very worthwhile because of the two beautiful playgrounds.
The toilets are also clean and the food was ok.
The animal facilities look well-kept, especially the walk-in area of the lemurs is great. Unfortunately, some enclosures (for example, for lions and tapirs) are a bit small in terms of space.

I went there for the first time as a kid in the early 80s. The last time in 2010 and now again a week ago.
So much has happened. Even if I am personally no longer a fan of caged wild animals, it is nice and very educational here.
We took the Africa tour. The guide explained a lot and told me things about elephants that I didn't know yet.
I would love to come back

I don't know where to start

I don't know where to start
I haven't been here in 25 years.

I marvel at the great renovation measures
And the beautiful animal-friendly enclosures.

But I miss a lot. !!!
The coat of arms animal of the Luhs is not there.

A large elephant enclosure and only one African and one Asian elephant ???

Where have the gibbons, the hippopotamus, the smallest monkeys gone ?? !!

Do you only make parks and do you renounce animals?

Great and yet sad.
I wish that you can take up the old animals again for the new topic.

Will definitely be back in 25 years

I like to be in the zoo. The walk in the sun and shade. Beautifully planted paths that invite you to discover and observe. I didn't know the path around the elephant enclosure: informative and innovative.
