They are paid, but the price is quite adequate + if you go to a position and go to work, money (for courses) is returned to you. There are many ways to know English. You are free to speak and understand foreigners. This does not mean that you can write correctly. And vice versa. The offices are cozy and they take care of the employees here. Not knowing the organizational structure of the company, you should not be so sure that they are trying to deceive you. If you saw only HR representatives, I cannot say that it is strange that you did not see other employees of the company there. This is a great position to start as an IT or student. And if there is any suspicion, then use a very cool life hack - ask a recruiter a question, and do not build your guesses :)

And I, by the way, finished these same courses. Although I already worked in the company, but English was not enough to move to a new position. After the courses, the test passed :) And now I am again in a new position, which I d probably be surprised at, I also needed to deepen my knowledge and pass the selection. From this attitude to the candidates and to the reviews, I concluded that the reviews were not forged by competitors and that I correctly decided not to contact this company.
