Great customer service and experience, even on Mother s day. The food was nice but nothing too special. What made it was the atmosphere and friendly service. I ll definitely be back with friends and family.

I would give this a lower rating if I could. I waited for an hour and a half for our food and never received it. This was my 16th birthday and they ruined the surprise my parents had planned. When we did leave after another half hour we did not even receive and apology.

I am hesitant to post because this is hands down my favorite laid-back dining venue across the San Fernando and Conejo Valleys and I don't want to see it overcrowded. However, I also feel an obligation to share the love. So here goes...

The views on a sunny day of tranquil Westlake during mid-day overlooking the marina near the yacht club to the East and the beautiful estate homes to the West are absolutely stunning. The service is impeccable and the food is exquisitely prepared and presented. The entire staff really cares about your experience and you can sense their commitment to ensuring your satisfaction. Nice wine list to complement any meal. Well crafted desserts and superb coffee make the perfect capstone of a stellar dining experience.

5 stars is not enough. Visit Zin Bistro Americana, breathe deep and slow, relax and enjoy the ambiance.

Service and Atmosphere was great. Nevertheless, the quality of food just does not match the price. We ordered spicy oven roasted seafood and were very disappointed. It was so spicy that we could not taste anything else. For desert we ordered cheesecake and it was really small for 10$.

This place was horrible . Worst experience. We were there to celebrate my husbands birthday. His meal was great. I ordered Lobster. which came with broken shells in the risotto. The plate was sent back. The management became furious when I asked for the meal to be taken off the bill

Beautiful, elegant, yet casual atmosphere with a good menu of foods and drinks. Live music on the other side of the bar, away from the dining rooms makes the evening more festive, if you're in the mood to dance.

So I have been here two times about one year apart. The service this time was amazing we where sat a a great table the waitress was there for everything we needed. The reason it's getting a one star, the clams where not fresh at all but are party looked past that even know it was my mother's birthday. What really got me was the chicken cordon bleu was just disgusting the chicken was not cooked it was chewy like rubber. I had another person from the party taste it then I opened up the other piece of it and could see it was not cooked at all. I have been to 100s of places and never been worried about my food I have also never in my life sent back food so this should say something but once it was taken back I could not eat another meal. Not only this the birthday girl sent her meal back as well. The one bright spot on all this was are waitress was great and removed the two items from the bill and was Pleasant. I just can't believe they would ever serve chicken that was so under cooked to anyone. For the price the bill was at the end of the night I just can't believe they have people in the kitchen that don't know how to cook chicken this is how people get sick.

Great fine dinning on the water front. Located on this secluded lake in the santa monica mountains just far enough off the 101 to be perfectly secluded in a private valley. Grade A food we had an amazing seafood plater all the triming and wonderful rack of lamb. The patio cant be beat. Kinda place you go to spoil your self or pop the question. PS staff and managment where unbelivablely gracious even after are party came in mean hungery craby cranks ready to murder a bar tender for a drink special thanks to justin mister 2/23 thanks for hanging tough mate with the routy natives! This place is run and manned by some real pros ask to be seated in ashelys Section you wnever be in better hands! Also second post script the ouster here perfectly amazingly fatty, best i have had in over a decade!!!!

We were celebrating my Wife's birthday which I noted when making the reservation, sadly this was not acknowledged by restaurant. 3 stars is primarily for the atmosphere and we were given table right near the water. The food was flavorful as I ordered short ribs, but it did arrive to the table only moderately warm.

Fantastic. I had the scallops with mushroom risotto, girlfriend had the chicken fried lobster with mashed potatoes and spinach. Both were phenomenal, though I would suggest the scallops over the lobster just because the risotto was so good.

Service was personal and prompt. Our server, who I think was maybe the manager or host or similar, was very good with timing, being available without being overbearing.

The bread was good, a decent variety of both whole wheat and crusty white bread with an olive oil dip. The dip was a little heavy on the basil for me, but that really comes down to preference; it was well done overall.

Our food was on the table inside of 20 minutes, commendable considering we sat down at 7pm without a reservation. Both dishes were served at the right temp. You can tell when a dish sits out in service dying for 10 minutes, luckily both of our plates looked very fresh.

I found her lobster a little bland, but again, probably just my preference. My scallops were very well cooked and nicely seasoned, a little light on salt, but again inside of the range of personal preference.

Our table was cleared promptly, our server informed us of upcoming specials that were, amazingly, relevant and not annoying, and we got our check and left.

Overall a very good experience with my only niggles being minor subjective matters of personal taste. I will most certainly go again.

Beautiful lakeside dining in a bistro that understands how to please the palate. Cheese fondue is perfect for sharing as are the humungous desserts. Starter salads are well presented and the entrees offer a combination of comfort food and upscale cuisine. A neighborhood gem for certain.

Beyond disappointed in this place and how the owner handled the situation. I purchased a Conejo deal certificate as a gift for someone and the people who went there are from another country and mistakenly did not sign the receipt and gratuity part. Zin bistro (Angelica) left me a voicemail (I made the reservation for them due to language barrier) regarding this asking what we wanted to close the bill at. I was not able to get a hold of the credit card owner but called Zin bistro back right away. I was on hold for a while and finally hung up and figured they would call back again. No one ever called and the next day their card was charged and tip added. The principle of this is infuriating that they would take it upon themselves to add a certain amount of tip to a bill without permission and without speaking to the card owner first. After contacting the business 3 times and no one ever calling back, we finally spoke with the owner who said they were very busy and he would have Angelica call back the next day, today (Sunday). She never called so we called again and instead of listening and taking care of it the owner called back a few minutes later cursing and yelling and telling us to go ahead and call the F***ing cops about the $36 charge! Beyond disgusted and would never recommend this place to anyone. Definitely do NOT use your credit card at this place as they can not be trusted!

Everything about ZEN is impressive.

Everything about ZEN is impressive.
Good selections, reasonably priced cocktails, thick tequilla selection, thick whiskey/bourbon selection and the Lake view is insanely romantic.
OneLove.

Today was my first time at Zin Bistro. We had a great night. We had the lobster mac and cheese. Not thick like it usually is but nice and creamy. It had a decent amount of lobster in it too. The Spicy Oven Roasted Seafood lived up to its name and was surprisingly spicy. Nothing that made it inedible but it definitely left me with a runny nose. I enjoyed it but would not recommend it for anyone who doesn't like spicy food. And finally we had the Lobster Lavioli. It too was creamy and not thick. I would have liked a bit more cheese but you can request more later. The food wasn't too expensive either but definitely not a place I would come to every week if you're on a budget. Overall it was a very pleasant first time at Zin Bistro.

The food, the atmosphere, the location, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was so good, I would order it again tomorrow. And the next day. :-)

My only disappointment was the portion size. If it were a $19 meal, I would understand, but $35 for 5 bites of ravioli seemed extreme. But again, I don't want that one little thing to detract from the overall experience. I only visit Thousand Oaks twice a year, and I eat at Zin at least twice on every visit. It's my favorite place!

I don't give out 5 stars often. Great food. Generous portions, reasonably priced and amazing, friendly service. Full bar. Free parking. Many menu options to please most diets. And if that's not enough, amazing lake views from almost every corner of the restaurant. Nice patio also. We beat the crowds for Mother's Day by going a day early.

Went here for Happy Hour with my Kiwanis club in April 2018.
Love this nice location next to lake. You can drive here or drive your boat. Pretty views. Good food - I shared the Filet bites and the wraps - both delicious. Nice, attentive staff and good friends made this a very enjoyable experience. A friend came late with little time and they got her food and check very quickly! Would like just a couple more umbrellas on back patio to keep sun off the west facing clients. They had live music inside too.
Will defintley come back!

Beautiful setting, full bar, attentive staff, food is certainly decent, but don't expect anything exceptional. We came for lunch, so can't attest to dinner menu. Some standby classics like sand dabs, but an ahi quesadilla that one might hope would have seared ahi is made with very well done ahi, which sort of defeats the purpose of ahi, and the Brie en Croute is served drowning in pesto-flavored sauce and stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes. We prefer Brie en Croute made with nuts and fruit. Large portions. Prices are mid-range for a waterside setting.

Worst restaurant ever. We went to fhis restaurant on Mother day for lunch for the first time because the location and because Boccaccio restaurant was booked. The open buffet food was horrible (poor quality with not too many choices). We were three adults. We had three beer and couple of coffee. The bill was $280!! without the location, this restaurant is worse nothing.

The service was mediocre and the tuna was overcooked, plus it was covered in some sauce that tasted like bad bbq. For the exorbitant price I was very disappointed. The shrimp scampi was decently executed, although a little too heavy on garlic for my taste. The bolognese was enjoyable but not particularly special.
