Zellini's Restaurant and Bar Review

I m not usually a regular; I like variety and food adventures, especially when traveling, but this place had me. Over the course of a week, I tried as much of their menu as I could fit in my schedule: the scrambled eggs and toast, poached eggs with avo and roasted tomatoes, chipotle scramble and the tomato goat cheese and basil. Everything was outstanding! The eggs were consistently cooked soft, not runny, which I normally do not like, but they were exceptional and flavorful. Trust these guys before asking for anything special. They know what they are doing and do it well. The goat cheese and tomatoes had a perfect proportion of each. The cheese was soft, and not overpowering; the tomatoes lightly caramelized and full of flavor. The chipotle was tangy with adobo, and mild in spice; perfect for breky; not overpowering. Their juices were fresh squeezed with bright flavorful taste. The pour-over coffee was outstanding as were the mocha and latte. They take their coffee seriously. Rarely does one find a place with as much passion for craft, executed with quiet confidence. Top marks. Thank you!

Nice but too crowded trying to get as many customers in at once

Decent coffee (they roast their own beans) and tasty in-house baked goods. Their chicken salad is delicious. Industrial but friendly vibe.

Nice shop great service but really ordinary overpriced coffee, if ur gonna charge more make sure its better than the other shops that don't

The cakes and pastries taste really great. Same goes for the salads which are made from fresh products. Very nice place to have a nice and copious brunch.

I love this cafe. The corn fritters with avocado are great. Espresso coffee comes with a little glass of mineral water (nice Euro touch). Service is fast and always with a smile.

Coffee in randwick? This place, nowhere else compares

Lovely breakkie cum lunch place. Good, clean flavours with care taken over the choice of ingredients.

Coffee was ok, but nothing special for the price...
I ordered a hot cup of almond milk with a little caramel syrup (my wife has allergies, but doesn't let that get in her way of enjoying the experience of certain cafes...) I was charged the same amount as the large latte I just bought... About $4! The worlds most expensive babyccino!!
As a barista myself I understand how hard it is to adjust prices accordingly, especially for something as simple as milk and syrup... It makes me shiver just to think of the challenging situation it represented... Sarcasm aside, this will be debated on the upcoming episode of Caffeine Mark The Podcast

Came here on a Saturday arvo, was greeted with a smile and decided to have my coffee there. Perfectly extracted, beautiful thick molasses notes with some slight stonefruit acidity that was cleansing on the pallet. Joe who prepared my cup of Joe told me they use a single o from Columbia. I'll definately be coming back here if I'm in Randwick. Well done Joe, you're awesome!

Besides that, it has a cosy vibe and great customer service and an option to pay ahead for another deserving customer.

Very pleseant. Service was great and the food was excellent. There is in-cafe dining, with great social distancing. The decor is industrial, with a concrete floor and exposed pipework at standard ceiling height. I sat on the bench seat at the back and was very comfortable. I ordered poached eggs on toast and tea. I really enjoyed my breakfast and the tea came in the cutest teapot. Highly recommend.

Not sure if I will choose to go back to this cafe again. The 18 bucks salad was boring and didn t taste good. without a salad dressing it did sound bland out!! The chicken was also undercooked. The 2 star is only for the fresh vegetables!!

Exceptional service, great food!

These guys are amazing. First they noticed I was scraping every bit of honey into my coffee (because I don t like wasting food) and they asked would you like more honey? . A nice touch. Then breakfast arrived. Two large pieces of toast, a generous portion, fantastic. I was with my daughter (9) who doesn t eat gluten. I asked if the toast was gluten-free thinking I could give her a piece. Immediately: No it s not, but I can change it for you if you like . No, that s fine, thank you . Are you sure? . Awesome service. Then, as if that wasn t enough I called the next day to say we (my daughter) left her water bottle there, and that I was back in Jervis Bay. 2 days later it arrived with a courier! These guys really care about their customers. They clearly want to give them an awesome experience. Thank you so much!

Excelente coffee. Intense taste, aroma, acidity and body

Good spot. Love it usually. Giving 4 instead of 5 stars as it wasnt great the last time I went. The bechamel sauce was way over salted so by brekkie was really not nice. Generally its been a really good place though

Average cafe. Paid 20 dollars for a latte and poached eggs with avocado on toast which tasted a bit like plastic like as if the bread might have been frozen before hand as well as the avocados not being too fresh. Really good vibes in here though. It s big, cozy and the service is nice and quick and the staff are always having a laugh with each other which is a really nice sight to see knowing they re happy.

Bigger than it appears from the outside, this place makes good coffee and generous servings of corn fritters - that's all we had . The menu had lots of other attractive options with particularly tasty sounding salads. Would definitely go again if I was in the area.

Seems to be very popular and packed, but its maybe just because it is across the road from the hospital. Overall, food and coffee are expensive, service is friendly but slow, coffee quality is average

The quality of coffee is good and quite well maintained ambience. The one thing which I feel can be improved is the service. People out there are not welcoming enough. As well, just not to do the work they make up stories and shows in the serving. Quoting an example this morning, I asked the lady to warm up my croissant a little bit about 10 seconds. She suggested to eat it cold and it will be good. I told her look I like my croissant a little warm. She got it heated up about a minute or so and the croissant was too dry and like a rubber. I agree that they have to cater more to gain more money but at the cost of what?? I went there three consecutive days and everytime the same behaviour. So not planning to go there again.
In case you value quality service, then don't go there.

The barista with the circular thin black rimmed glasses heats the almond milk to the PERFECT TEMPERATURE! (I haven't been able to catch his name because it's so busy)

Well deserved 5 stars for the almond cappucino and almond mochas. Perfectly smooth and delicious. A rare find.

Typical cafe food. Had the corn fritters and chocolate cake which was really tasty. Only reason the score is only 3 stars is because the food was very pricey when the portions were tiny. Would definitely appreciate more food on my plate.
Also, as a side note, most of the cups were dirty. I couldn't find a single clean one to drink out of.

Fast service, coffee is nice and strong. Not sure why other reviews complain about price, $7 for two takeaway coffees on a Sunday is cheap.

safe food handling is suspect. I go here often and it's usually good. Had a chicken sandwich, late lunch time, that had been out at room temp. 5 hours later I was pretty sick. I hadn't had any other food to speak of (an apple for breakfast). I called and left them a message, nothing hysterical, just letting them know, and questioning the room temp mayonnaise chook sandwiches...they didn't even bother to call back.

Great coffee place. There's always a nice vibe in there and the food is super tasty (try the corn fritters if you're eating in). I'm also a huge fan of the cinnamon bun and the dark choc/ pear muffin!

Lovely Cafe in Randwick. Had a mocha here which was great, and this place while small has some cool rustic decor.

Best coffee in Sydney! They roast their own beans and they are delicious. They have great muffins & other food too. It's usually quite busy.

The staff know their coffee! There's an awesome range of espresso, pour over, and cold drip caffeine hits readily available.
Promt service, and deliciously simple breakfast options. The Mecican-y eggs are my favourite. Sour cream is okay to have at 8am, right?

This is one of my regular coffee shops. The food is lovely and the coffee very tasty - my only complaint would be that the coffee is not always very warm.

Nice small place with good food and drinks. Great atmosphere/decorations. Pricey for students but reasonable for the hospital staff nearby. Only complaint is that there's not aircon but usually lots of breeze from the open (massive) open windows.

Continues to disappoint me after coming for a few years on and off. Banana bread tastes like it has minimal banana in it, service slow for take away yet not crazy busy at 3 pm. Coffee has never reached expectations for a place that roasts.

Great coffee, fast service, amazing food menu. A lot better than other cafes in the area. Coffee is always perfect, nice and hot. I've only tried the bacon and egg roll, and omg it's delicious. It has 2 types of sauces, one upping normal B&E rolls. Whole office smelt its deliciousness when I arrived at work. Definitely will be a regular.

Nice coffee place with character, good coffee and good food. They generally have great muffins and cakes (GF options available).
We tend to come here when it is not too busy as the queues can ben long and the noise almost unbearable.
