Amazing buildings. I think about the orphans that would have grown up here.The bakery here is great as is Lentil as Anything cafe and the other cafe is also good. They have a market on the 1st Saturday of every month.

Beautiful grounds, great bakery. I find the prices on the high side of moderate but the quality of food is consistently good. Possibly the best Light Rye Sourdough I've ever had (-;
Beautiful building and well kept grounds. Great for a walk or catch up with friends. Clean toilets, outside dinning spaces and parking facilities. Lots of places to sit and places to get good and coffee.
The best place to go for a break from the city! The vibe here is just wonderful, the people are fantastic, the space is 10 mins from the CBD but it feels like your in the country. I highly recommend this as a place for a day out whether you are a couple, family or having "me time". The convent itself has got art galleries and museums and lots of places to explore in the convent itself. Inside are cafes (HIGHLY recommend Lentil As Anything) and then the Children's Farm as well. You can spend a whole day mooching around here.
I love hanging out here. They have a great children's farm and community programs. Probably the most popular and well known is Lentil as Anything aka Lentils. Lovely food for as cheap as you can imagine. Great atmosphere and gardens.
Beautiful set of buildings close to the city but very tranquil. Has some cool eateries but avoid the coffee in the bakery. History of the convent is a bit dark but worth doing the tour.
We are so lucky to have such a beautiful venue to hold beautiful yoga events. I have participated in many and the ambients is amazing. Last nights event was no exception and Lentl as anything is always an extra bonus. Yummy food.
Huge estate and what an amazing history this place has. Vibe is now arty and slightly hippy with the various studios and installations around. Efforts in building preservation is commendable. There is a children's farm nearby and a couple of cafes for one to soak in the atmosphere and drift the mind off to...
The Abbotsford convent is one of my favourite places in Melbourne to relax, eat and walk by the river. Steeped in history, its magnificent buildings spread over 16 acres of prime riverside land. Predictably it almost fell into developers hands at one stage. It is now preserved as a community space with plenty of art studios, cafes, yoga and function rooms. Nestled close to the Children's Farm as it is, you can walk past the horses and goats as you pop into the "pay as you feel" Lentil As Anything cafe for something wholesome. Afternoons are for sitting on the lawns in the sun and watching jugglers practice or simply forgetting you are only 4km from the CBD. It really is a gift to have such a place so close to the city.
We love coming here for a special night out, mainly to visit Lentil as Anything. The vibe of this place is great, and the gardens always have me in awe. The markets that are held here are unfortunately a little bit mediocre, but the people running the stalls make up for it in personality, and there are some hidden gems. Parking just across the street, very easily accessible. Highly recommend!
The place that can be none other than itself. Originally sign posted for redevelopment (demolition), this significant complex adds so much character to Melbourne's community. Have a dance on a Sunday, eat some food at lentils or have a drink at Cam's many options all year round.
Always a treat when I get a chance to visit the Abbotsford Convent. Whether it's a market, a walk, a wedding or just to sit, there's something for all ages, all people. Enjoyed a beautiful wedding in the heritage garden today. It was beautiful. Such a historic, stunning reverent place to be.
Absolutely love this place, it offers a fantastic atmosphere with great venues such as 'Lentils as Anything' (pay-as-you-feel restaurant), a bakery, a childrens farm & multiple cafes and also hosts markets frequently. 10/10 would recommend for families.
This place is quite fascinating to wander around. Many of the buildings are open to view. Lots of history and some interpretation on display. Regular markets and music in the grounds.
Small piece of garden offering a backdrop of beautiful architecture and would be especially lovely in a sunny day. Public toilets are available. Art gallery may be open. Not-for-profit and chapel restaurant is just around the corner.
