This place is wonderful and the people are so caring. I am grateful to be here after having to leave my state for safety and move here. Everyday is a struggle but my case advocate Marisol and the entire staff are always here to help with invaluable resources and just a kind listening ear when needed.
I did my college internship here! It was a life changing experience. And I still volunteer. The people who work here are amazing and the environment is warm.

Ywca, my post was deleted moments after posting on their website. I am furious on how my love one is being treated by this organization! As a DV survivor, single mother of 3 and two of which who suffers from mental or physical disadvantages is going through the worst with this place! The mother has been asking for her aircondotioner to be fixed for nearly a month and the same day they finally fix her air the advocate comes to tell her that she has to exit in less than 10 days! Oh wait, I use to be a resident at the YWCA and I have contributed community service to Our Sisters Closet and let me tell you! For the companies donating, YWCA is making a profit! This is abuse of power and discrimination!
Called when me and my daughter ran out of places to run. She is a survivor of an attempted murder less than 30 days ago with her perpetrator on the run. They said her situation is not severe enough even though she was beaten, kidnapped, and forced to jump out of his moving vehicle as her only chance at survival. They said because we haven't seen him since we don't need help, if we were to see him it would be for him to finish the job. He is on the run and extremely dangerous with nothing to lose, he already escaped the police and they neither help us. He has already started calling my daughters phone and there's no help for us anywhere to be found.
If you or someone you know is in need of a safe, secure, and supportive place when getting out of an abusive situation this is the place to contact. They are an incredible group.
I don t advise calling this place if you need help. It s up to the hotline to decide if you ve been beat up enough to meet their screening criteria and they are so rude. At a time when you already feel defeated and are lost about what to do next, to reach out to this place is a big mistake. I understand why some women just stay rather than leave- For lack of resources. They need to get Abigail off their lines before she gets someone KILLED!
The kind of organization to serve as an example to philanthropic organizations worldwide. They provide extensive training for every volunteer and have a highly experienced staff. The YWCA provides a valuable service in the community as a large women's shelter. As a volunteer there I am continually impressed at the empathy and dedication of the YWCA professionals.
These are truly extraordinary people. They help women in many ways. May God always smile on your work.
