Comedy was okay, short though. 65 minute show for 15 bucks plus convenience fee and tax per person is a bit high considering the area. I like the aura of the venue, and like how the club is set up. Thing that bothered me the most though was the disorganized nature of the wait staff. Spent 20 minutes trying to pay for a single coke after the show had already ended, and multiple people we're just getting their orders as the show ended. If this location was the beginning of the comedy club scene, Toronto comedy lovers should be glad that others have done a better job of it for a better price.
The 26th of December so called comedy show at the YukYuk Toronto venue was in a basement. Little did I expect this post Christmas show to be in the gutter. Toronto can do better than this spectacle of detritus. Any street in Toronto could do better. People in the audience paid good money to witness a diatribe of largerly embarrassing and unfunny vulgarity and crudity devoid of any intellectuallity. Yuk Yuk, yuk.
Love this place. Always go for the Nubian Show. All the comics are hilarious. And the prices are amazing. Went there in February and couldn't stop laughing almost got a six pack from laughing so hard. If you love laughing and you're light hearted you should goo.
I've been going to yukyuks for laughs for years now. There will be at least one comedian probably more that will suite your sense of humor in the line up. I've been to a number of other comedy clubs in Toronto that aren't even comparable (I'm being gental here) to yukyuks.
I've been a few times and I've always had fun. Obviously keep in mind that not everyone finds all the same things funny so maybe don't expect to be rolling around laughing all night but you will laugh plenty. The drinks are strong and the food is just average and a bit overpriced. All considered I'd go again.
The comedy was great but the service really suck sucks. If you are a recovering alcoholic this is the perfect club for you because no matter how much you are tempted to drink, a waitress will never serve you. Also of note: extremely uncomfortable chairs.
I loved the place, value for money and comedians were awesome. And crowd was good as well. I liked the set up and food was for reasonable price. Must go.
Went as part of JFL42. They pack you in like sardines. Lots of bad angels and it was hard to see the show from the 3rd row. I'm not a big person and I was cramped and uncomfortable to the point of distraction. But the talent they get in can make it worth it.
First time to a comedy club so not sure how they compare or rate. Staff at the venue were friendly and helpful. The comedy itself was great. Nicely spread out room. At the time I was there it was quite a full crowd but the service was quick and efficient. Washrooms were nicely kept. Would return to this venue again in the future.
Great comedy and nice venue. Service sucked however. When our waitress came around she asked if we wanted anything to drink, I asked if they had anything on tap, she said no and walked away...
Good place to enjoy stand up comedy. The place is usually packed on weekends. Go early to get good seats. The shows typically last for about an hour and a half. There are usually 2 or 3 small acts followed by the main act. Food and drinks are also served, though the options are fairly limited but good enough since the focus is on the show. Booth seating is available for an extra $20.
The show was great! The doorman was very unprofessional in how he answered to us. I had a group of visitors from England and had emailed earlier to ask if we could sit in the front row. Francesca emailed back to let us know that they had received our request. We were the first group to arrive and when I gave him my name, I had told him that I had purchased the tickets online and had emailed to request the front seats, he bluntly said that "he never sits groups of more than 4 up front". I found that to be very rude. Is that what he says to every large group. No customer service skills.
Had a blast with some friends laughing the night away, originally had a bad server but the one that took our order the second time was awesome. Can't wait for my next stand up show. Price is great for the show, drinks are normal prices, venue is a little squishy unless you pay up for a table.
Yuk yuk's is a staple in the Toronto comedy scene. Tickets for comedy shows are less expensive here than they are at second city. But it is a little bit more worn down, a smaller venue, and tighter seating. They really pack in their attendance seating side by side, so if you're looking for more space, make sure you call in advance to pay and reserve a booth. Recently went here to a late show at 10 p.m. where comedians roasted one another from different cities and different countries. So funny! Don't miss the next roast!
Loved it! Great show! The MC was just as good as the comics. Basic food selection so if you are looking for a great meal and a show I wouldn't recommend, but that's not what the place is really about. The staff was amazing a friendly! Will absolutely go back.
Yuk Yuks is cool but the chairs are really uncomfortable for a long period of time and its sort of a struggle to put your drink anywhere if you don't get one with a table in front so get there early... Also pretty lame you need to pay for booths and have 4 ppl minimum
Waitress was never around and when she did she was very rude. We flagged a bus boy down for help and he told us to call our server. I will never come here again.
If you are looking for the very best in Canadian Stand Up Comedy - look no farther than Yuk Yuks. Yuk Yuks has launched the careers of pretty well everyone you have ever heard of.. ( Howie Mandel, Jim Carey , Norm Macdonald, Russell Peters etc) . They shows are always well designed with medical grade funny MC's, Headliners and lots of guest spots . Shows run about 90 min. There is a great bar menu with lots of well priced options. The food menu is quite extensive compared to other comedy clubs so there is lots of choice if you want a snack or a full meal - they have it all. They have just re-opened with all the necessary health and safety protocols in place such as staggered entry and exit for the audience, sanitizing stations, masks on all staff and lots of spacing between the tables. If you are looking for a great night out - this is a pretty great choice. ( they have other locations - you can check web site for those details )
One of Toronto's finest comedy lounges and a fav go to for date night. I have been to this location multiple times and always walk out with my cheeks hurting from laughing so much.
Yuk Yuk Toronto is conveniently located downtown with plenty of street parking nearby.
Check their website for specials, like on Tuesdays thay have tickets for as low as $4.
Went for the first time this weekend, the place is run very efficiently and the staff are really cool. Can't wait to go back and check out Armature night.
Went to see "White Guys Matter" hosted by Aaron Berg last night and it was hilarious! Funny show, great poke at society and politics. Enjoyed the venue and the atmosphere. Thanks Yuk Yuk's!
Customer service was great. It was my first time so I wasn t sure what to expect but I can t wait to be back. The comedians were great. Drinks and food are reasonably priced. Bathrooms are clean.
Time well wasted, love comedy, i always have a great time at any location..drinks are reasonable, I use comedy to unwind and laughter is the best medicine...laughs away all ...live your life to the fullest.
Always such a great time at Yuk Yuks. They really go out of there way to make sure that there is a great line-up and that everyone from all ages and backgrounds can enjoy a laugh!!
Super fun - well priced and great service! Great for date nights
Finally, a place where I can openly voice my racist thoughts without being persecuted. It's just a joke bro! Comedy! Food was good, did not give me the runs so that's an A+ in my book
This place is a fantastic and intimate club for comedy. 320 seats and I was lucky enough to see Louis CK there, front row and briefly met him before he went on stage, which is an experience I will never forget. The staff are awesome too! I know they saw comedians can't make it in Canada, which unfortunately is true. For comedians this is a place to practice and maybe get established but not the kind of brand to take you all the way. They pay a lot more in America, but this applies to such few people that I am still giving it a 5 star rating! The food prices could be cheaper!
I love a great comedy show and Yuk Yuks delivered!! The host was hilarious and all of the performers had great jokes. Very engaging with the crowd and well planned so that there was no wait in between performers. The club is small so the show has a very intimate feel. Chairs are a bit uncomfortable and there isn t a lot of leg room but the jokes keep you distracted from it. I will definitely be back!
First visit here and the entertainment was great. But the space definitely leaves something to be desired - it's super old and run down. Not sure why they don't renovate it? Didn't try the food.
I was at the show last night it was fantastic the last guy standing caused a big uproar people were all fired up and wound up definitely an entertaining seen and all the comedians were very outgoing. We will be back my only complaint would be the drinks didn t come fast enough but good times lol
My boyfriend and I went to the Nubian show and it was hilarious ! My main issue however, was some spots didn t have tables (which is where we ended up) so ordering food was a hassle, the chairs were hard as rocks and it seemed like the waiters only asked people with tables if they d like food. My suggesting is to buy your tickets online and reserve a good seat And or bring your own snacks.
Loved it! We went there with our 2 teens who had the best evening ever. The students' improvisations and routines were great. They interacted with the audience and a lot with our kids who were over the moon! Nothing that they didn't hear at school, and at least it was very funny! Go yuck yourself!!
Worst experience ever. If you are not white, Canadian and straight, stay away from it! Racist, sexist and not funny at all. Left before the show ended. Not worth even the 8 bucks.
Great show! Awesome location downtown and a great roster of comics. One thing they could improve on is the chairs, they're very uncomfortable and tough to sit in for a long show.
i've only been to the nubian night at yuk yuks a handful of times.
the waitress with the pink hair is dusty and rude. customer service overall left a lot to be desired, and all i needed was water. nubian nights are usually a sold out, packed event, and Pinky was moving through the space as if she was doing us a favour by doing her job. (the audacity.)
the comics were decent - some hits, some misses. still unsure why a white-presenting comic got a set on this particular night (to tell us that they would have sex with black/brown women the entire time... guess his comedy wasn't my speed.)
The comedians were quite funny. The price of the show was well worth it. Service is kind of slow and food is not that great. The worst is the location of the bathrooms. We had fun though.
Paid $20 a person for the show. Our seats were okay - was told booths are for guest list only. Comedians were great with some solid material. Perfect for drinks and a good laugh !
Always a great time @ Yuk Yuk's at this location & for a good price on a Thursday! Weekend isn't 1/2 bad either. It's a little dated but who cares, the show is always great everytime we've visited, I've never eaten here so I can't comment on that, but the booze is always cold & served with a smile. I would suggest eating beforehand, get seated early & just come for drinks... But that's just imo. We'll be back again soon...
Always a good time! Service is okay, not the best. It's very busy every night. Usually first come first serve for seats. Purchase tickets in advance to avoid line up!
