This is the most awesome beautiful place I've been to in a while. The people were off-the-charts friendly the grounds were just beautiful. I went for the Halloween festivals great great Family Affair recommend it to anybody of all ages.

Yew Dell is a gem. I lived here 14 years before I visited; I had no idea something so lovely was right down the road. The staff and volunteers work hard to keep improving on its beauty. Love it.

The History of Yew Dell Gardens

Yew Dell Gardens was founded in 1941 by Theodore Klein as his private estate. Over the years, Klein transformed the property into a horticultural masterpiece with unique gardens featuring rare trees and shrubs from around the world.

In 2001, after Klein's passing, his family donated the property to become a public botanical garden with the goal of preserving its legacy while also providing educational opportunities for visitors.

Since then, Yew Dell has continued to grow into one of Kentucky's premier botanical gardens with new additions such as The Sunken Garden which features an impressive collection of aquatic plants including water lilies and lotus flowers.

What You Can Expect at Yew Dell Gardens

When visiting Yew Dell Gardens there are several areas worth exploring:

The Arboretum - This area features over 600 species of trees including some rare specimens like Japanese maples and ginkgo biloba trees.
The Vegetable Garden - Here visitors can learn about sustainable gardening practices while also enjoying fresh produce grown right on site.
The Woodland Garden - This area showcases native woodland plants like trilliums and ferns.
