Ameristar Casino Resort Spa Review

Fun casino with lots to do. Drinks are decent. Food is okay.

I noticed that the person that makes the sandwiches doesn t wear a Though he had a hairnet and gloves

NOT FAMILY FRENDLY!!!! I thought this would be a nice stop on our was to CFD I was wrong. My daughter is 18 and there is 1 restaurant in the entire town she could eat at. All the buffets are inside the casinos. That you have to be 21 to get in. So only place to eat was the expensive steak house. Let's move onto the rooms. They look great bathroom is huge BUT the beds Suck. Both beds in the room sunk to the middle and you can feel the springs. My wife was so miserable she sleep in the tub. Now to breakfast the next morning. We stood at the buffet for 10 minutes waiting for 1 of the dozen people inside to help there was another couple in front of us and people inside eating. I finally walked in just to be told they don't do breakfast during the week. So we wondered around found the had a breakfast buffet in another restaurant. It was 13$ for "farm fresh eggs" they were powdered, waffles so hard you could bulid a good casino out of them, soggy bacon, sausage, and potatoes. I got a 17$ omlet that may of been a waping 6" inches long. It was good but tiny. The casino played roulette for and hour and only got 1 drink.

Only good thing about this hotel was the roof top pool that doesn't have a bar.

Location was amazingly cool. Games were in good working order. Had a great time. Ill be back

Hotel room was nice but front desk staff dobt seem to care about customers. At least night staff. Will try another hotel next time we are in Blackhawk

No air conditioning in the room in July, overall good place

My wife and I got up to the hotel at about 5pm for a work banquet. We were told that check in was at 3pm. When we got to the hotel lobby there were about 50 people that are part of my organization just sitting on the couches. We approached the desk and were told that our room had to be cleaned and inspected yet and it could be another hour before the room was ready. The banquet started at 6pm and everyone still had to get dressed for the occasion!!! Around 5:45 I went up to the counter and was told the room still had to be inspected! Ridiculous! There was a "manager" walking by and I asked her what the hold up was.She went into an office and came out with my room keys. My wife and I got up to the room only to find that it smelled of marijuana terribly bad!! It was now 2 minutes till 6pm so we threw on our banquet attire and headed to the summit room. Normally we have a nice time when visiting but this was a horrible experience... Nothing was offered to us and was even told when checking out and complaining about the smell. "Well, we have rules but it is Colorado".. Are you serious??

Good gambling, but cheaper table games are across the street at the lodge

Amazing customer service and friendliness of the staff.

Drove from Aurora on a whim (I woke up feeling good), the location is breathtaking. I would recommend going just for the drive. The casino was very clean, the temperature wasn't too cold like I'm use to in to Michigan, plenty of beverage stations, bathrooms were very clean and well kept. I only wish it was larger and offered more interactive games. All in all will definitely be back.

Great location, crappy service. I got housekeeping only a few days out of the 7 I was there. When I called guest services I was told, "We are completely booked up, I guess they are too busy to get to your room." Food is way over priced in the venues on property! That's true of all Ameristars though.

Nice hotel and good buffet but don't expect to ever win cause they've rigged all the machines to pay absolutely nothing out. I don't expect to become a millionaire but after a few hours at least break even

Went for lunch and a little gambling, buffet was nice, way overpriced for what is there, dealers were fun and energetic

The hotel has a spa and pool available as well as a buffet an amazing restaurant and a casino. It was full of things to do

Visited a couple of times. Will return when construction is complete. If you are near Denver I recommend a visit to this place

I can't seem to win at this casino ever once in a while

Very pleasing, and relaxing, every time we've gone there. A little pricey, but worth it with the amenities they have, primarily the pool and hot tubs.

Great spacious rooms... Roof top pool.... Casino games pay nice.

So far the best hotel and casino in Black Hawk, the soon upgraded Monarch is looking to take that mantle, we'll see.

Always like to gamble here. Like that there Is a Starbucks (the only one in Black Hawk). I don't drink alcohol

Nice rooms and amenities, gambling isn't quite Vegas level but it's the best you'll get in Colorado.

Have stayed here many times, usually enjoy myself but played hard from 11-2:30 and got two drinks at the tables. Rediculous and not worth it. Stick guys were very nice though.

Could not get a drink after spending $40 on machines. The place across the street has way better service and jackpots. Bye Ameristar, bye.

Very busy place on the weekends. Very clean and the most friendly casino in Black Hawk. This place is huge and can be overwhelming but every staff member on the floor is willing and happy to help.

I have heard about this casino and it lived up to the advertisement

This is the best place to gamble, eat, stay and play!

If not having any fun, paying too much for everything , never winning and needing to bet an arm and a leg just to play a table game, this should be your first and only stop. I wish I could give them zero stars. Ironic their name has star in it because all they deserve is 1 star

We were at Ameristar for a wedding. Overall the place is exceptionally nice very clean very well cared for. The parking lot can get very full on a Saturday night. The food was very good for the wedding and we really enjoyed the staff. The rooms were very nice clean and comfortable. p

Ameristar is the BEST casino in Blackhawk!,
Although I'm a little upset that they took away my free room, slot credits, etc, once I hit VIP status on my,players club card... I'm hoping they will put them back on my card as I had planned to come up this week with my wife.... but the staff at Ameristar is always attentive to the guests needs and wants. Just a suggestion, if I was the CEO of Ameristar, or if I was there contractor, I would hire one guy, who's sole job, is to touch up paint, pick up trash, fix light bulbs in elevator, etc.... SO that the casino is totally spotless. One thing about Vegas casinos if they are always so clean you could eat off of the elevator floor....at least the places I stay.
ALSO ameristar.... you do have the best buffet around and it is better than 80% of the Las Vegas buffets you guys always keep your food good and fresh and your crab legs are to die for... I ALWAYS overeat and stuff my gullet! Anyway keep up the good work Ameristar

I always park at the Ameristar when visiting Black Hawk. I always start there.

Used to be my favorite casino up at blackhawk havent stayed in a while my promotions get smaller a d smaller no matter what I spend it's crazy I get better offers from the Z it's a shame because I am a preferred memeber there and I used to go all the time

Worst customer service I have ever received in any area of the customer service industry. Floor staff is absolutely terrible. They meet customer concerns with confrontation and anger. Lot of dealers are very snappy and rude as well. The entire culture of the employees is toxic and bad for business.

Currently sitting at the 8042 Bar where it has been heavily advertised that cocktails are half price from 4-7pm. Meaning, it was on our TV when we got to our room, it s on the website, and it is even on the poker machines at the counter of the bar. However, we were informed by the bartender that the cocktails are full price since the hotel is in the process of getting a new menu. We planned our schedule for our stay around the half priced cocktails and were very disappointed. The bartender did give us a free drink because of this, so that was nice, however we are very underwhelmed by this and the buffet which is very overpriced for what you get. Definitely spend money on one of the actual restaurants, not the buffet, because the price they ask for is pretty similar. Other than that, the room was clean and nice and the staff is for the most part very nice.

Ate at ths deli. I had carnitas and a taco sampler. The food was good but the wait was a bit long.

The hot tub is closed due to coronavirus but nothing about it on sites. That was the main reason for my choice in hotel. Then in room the glasses where obviously used lip prints and all, yuk! You'd think with all the pandemic safely they would at least change the dirty glasses! Then at 2 am reported extra noisy neighbors staff did nothing. It didn't make any sense that as guests staying in the hotel we then had to wait in line at the casino once the building reached max capacity. Weren't we already part of the head count for the building? Hotel guests paying $350 a night should take priority over walk-ins. Very limited table games and all had high minimum bids.

If I could leave a ZERO, I would ve. My family and I stayed here on Monday, July 26th. Our room was filthy dirty, especially the shower and around the floor to the shower. I reported this the morning we left and after I noticed long black hair all over the shower and pubic hair. I called the front desk and the lady that answered the phone told me I needed to speak with the hotel manager, Eric Lee. I sent Eric an email and he refused to compensate one of the two rooms we paid for. He was very rude in his response saying that he will only compensate me $50 because I waited until the morning I left to report it. I didn t take a shower until the morning we left. I paid over $400 and the most Eric can do is $50. This is unacceptable. I do not recommend this hotel.

I have done a lot of business with Ameristar in Black Hawk...both personal and professional. I will now give business to the new hotel that will open later this month.

Not only is a resort beautiful and in a stunning area of rockies but the employees are all beyond hospitable!

I left a jewelry and never got it back even if I called and let both customer assistance and housekeeping know.

Went to the restaurant for dinner, it's a decent Chili's style place. The burger was ok. The chicken fried steak was mediocre, the margarita was very much made from a mix. Nothing was bad but nothing was particularly great.

My room was amazing, the bed was super comfortable and the garden tub and separate shower were awesome. The service was very friendly, both at the front desk and the restaurants. I didn't really gamble much as I was just here to relax, but the floor staff was very professional.

Stepped in to gamble and get some lunch. We choose the cafeteria type restaurant on the first floor. There wasn't many people in the restaurant, and took almost 30 mins to get 3 tacos made.

This was our favorite casino in Black Hawk. Clean and smoke free, also has a Starbucks inside.

This is definitely my favorite casino and resort in Blackhawk. Great ambience, food, and selection of slots. Coupons and comps are pretty slight for us mere mortals (occasional gamblers). Perhaps time to try a hungrier casino...
