Decided to treat my wife to AYCE sushi night and was pretty disappointed. We were seated right away which was nice but waited 30 minutes to have our order taken. Long story short we ordered 8 rolls and got 3. After 3.5 hours of waiting for food and watching 3 tables get up and leave out of frustration I finally got a servers attention. Told them we d been waiting over 3 hours and just wanted to pay and leave. They wanted $90 for the 5 rolls we ended up getting. They did offer to pack up 2 rolls we didn t even order to take home. Told them I wasn t paying $90. They offered a 10% discount which brought the bill to $81....spoke with the manger who would only go as low as $75....ended up paying $15 per roll and stopped at McDonalds on the way home since we were starving. Won t be going back.

It's quite a nice little joint, specially after a more recent renovation. The pre-renovation period was hinting a downfall for the restaurant but they really stepped up after the renovations.

Good variety of food but not the best service. Was there for AYCE yet the waitress only came by once. By the time we got a hold of another waitress, we had lost our appetite. I had better experiences the last time that we were here.

Food and service was good. Seaweed salad is considered a dinner menu even though it was not listed under "dinner". In our party of 15 we had a selective 10 year old diner and inquired about an a la carte menu for her. We were asked if she could dine alone at a separate table. REALLY?

Great selection of sushi and kitchen items. However, service is less than satisfactory. Type of sushi restaurant where you will only get half of what you ordered, based on their discretion of how much you will eat.

Quality is not worth it for the price you are paying.

Despite a busy line' up schedule for fathers day, servers and manager are being courteous and patient with us.we ,as a family of 7, really enjoyed our time there.thanks and recommmended for. Keeping their cool in front of customers amids cowards and line_ups..
Also,a channel to watch young women Soccer is also a plus for today as we have young members who love to participate in sports activities themselves..thanks and wish everyone a happy fathers day. -:_-__-___:-__-...

Visited for dinner with my wife on the Sunday after they re-opened Friday. Only because our goto sushi places were closed and we were craving sushi.

Service was near to non existent. Looked like they only had 2 waitress taking orders for the whole restaurant.
Super hard to flag down anyone to take your order as there was only 2 people. Also unlike other AYCE places no iPad to order from, maybe to prevent over ordering?

We order maybe 10 different items and received 4 within the first hour.
Beef tenderloin - weird taste, maybe from whatever they used to soften the meat
Beef teriyaki - had a strong odor (smelled like lamb) and was super tough from being overcooked
Rolls - so so
Sashimi - didn't get the right number of pieces correct. Why bother asking when we order. It was also so so.

FYI iced tea refills are an extra $1 each refill other pop is included. Waitress mentioned this is noted in the menu but I looked through it front and back and no where does it mention that.

Overall save your money and either do takeout at any other sushi place or make it yourself.

TLDR; The food quality wasn't amazing. I would expect a little more for the price. The service was lacking, and some questionable food may have been re-served.

I usually do not give poor ratings, and am quite generous with my reviews, but this is one of the few establishment's I'm quite dissapointed in.

The poor rating is more so from the lack of service my table recieved. We ended up staying at the restaurant for 3 hours, always waiting for someone to notice us, take our orders, give us our bill, and deliver our food.

We recieved food that we did not order, and when notifying the waitress, we asked if the food would go to waste. They indicated it would not, then took it away, which is somewhat concerning since we are in the midst of a pandemic and we'd hope that although it would be a waste, the food would not be re-served to other patrons of the restaurant. The food was shrimp tempura. The waitress had given it to us, left, and the next time she came we notified her. She did not have any guarantee if any of us had touched it or not, then took it away for someone else to consume. This is my biggest concern, especially since we were talking to one another without masks - since we're eating.

Overall, the service was lacking. We asked for miso soup when we first arrived, and it was one of the last items to come to us... 3 hours later.

The Philadelphia roll was deep fried, I have never seen any other AYCE sushi places do this. It did not taste that great.

The creme brulee was quite eggy, it would have been nice if it were a little more creamy. Reminded us a little of steamed egg.

We ordered 40 salmon sashimi and recieved 17. This happened both times we ordered sashimi, and each time took quite a long time to come to the table.

The lighting was dim where we were sitting, and some of my friends began to get sleepy since the wait was so long.

I would not recommend this place.

We've been dining here for over 10 years. The menu has not changed much over the years and is quite reliable. Service can be quite slow with items often being forgotten. I would not recommend eating here if you're on a tight schedule.

We went for lunch but got the dinner menu instead which includes sashimi crab legs etc.

Sashimi was fresh, torched sushi was good as were some of the rolls. The beef sashimi was literally still frozen when they served it. Crab legs were stringy and didn't taste that fresh to me.
Service was ok - the main issue being they were a bit slow in removing the empty plates which was a annoying.
For the price - amount of food and quality was decent. I have not been to that many ayce places but seems quality is comparable to a more casual regular Japanese restaurant.

I don't understand the low review for this restaurant. The food was prepared really quickly, given exactly the amount asked for, and is very fresh and tasty. Although, some dishes are little too salty, but all in all, one of the best AYCE Japanese buffet ive tried. The service was really good and accommodating as well.

I don't expect AYCE Japanese restaurant will limit max 3 sweet shrimp per person. $37 per person Weekend dinner price I expect it can do much better.
Sashimi salmon is not fresh, my sons not enjoying.
Creme Brulee has watery sugar, mango yogurt only has one drop of mango flavoring. Washibi octopus is limited 1 piece per person, it has no taste, can't finish it.
The cooked foods are better, like tempura shrimp and steak.
Very disappointed.

Ate too much. Little pricy for 2, but the food was tasty. Service was quick, though the odd server seemed to feel that they had some where else to be. Was $60+ including a mandatory %10 service fee. was deserted at 5:30 but was crowded by 7. And they had WiFi. I would go back but it is a bit of a drive from where I live.

The food was very good the only thing I didn't like is that there is this 4 dollar charge called a service charge which I was was not made aware of. So it was 35.99 plus a service charge plus a tip. I didn't mind paying it because the service was great but it would be great to be explained why they added a service charge om out bill, I've never seen this before.

Lot's of food to choose from and the quality of the food is pretty decent. The service however can be greatly improved, I struggled getting the waitresses attention even while the restaurant was relatively empty and I can't imagine what the service is like during rush hour.

ENVIRONMENT: I went to the restaurant on July 25, the second day that restaurants were allowed dine-in seating since the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down in March. As most restaurants have taken extra precautions due to COVID, I expected Yang s to have adopted some of the precautions. They did not. The only visible measures the restaurant has taken was keep every other table empty and have their staff wear masks. There were no floor stickers marking the 6ft distance, no plexi-glass shields, no hand sanitizer anywhere nothing.

SERVICE: After being closed for almost 4 full months, I thought that the restaurant (owners and staff) would be happy to have customers back in the restaurant and happy to be back in business. This was not the case tonight. Out of the 6 wait-staff that I saw, only 2 of them were minding their customers. The other 4 were COMPLETELY useless and rude. We placed one full food order after receiving our drinks and only 75% of the order came to our table. I inquired about the remaining food items to the manager. She was rude and dismissive she wasn t looking at me when I was speaking to her and she barely acknowledged me to say that she would look into the matter. We were only in the restaurant for an hour and had only placed a second half-order before I got so frustrated with the terrible service I had to leave. None of the wait staff came to check on us to ask if we wanted to place another order, needed water, etc.

FOOD: The sushi was absolutely TERRIBLE. The salmon sashimi I got was WARM. The BBQ eel sushi I got was DRY. The sushi rolls were DRY and BARELY had any filling in them. FOOD COURT SUSHI IS BETTER THAN THE SUSHI AT THIS RESTAURANT. The shrimp tempura was hard and stale and I mean the SHRIMP ITSELF was hard and stale. I don t even know what else to say everything we got was sub-par. The only thing that was good was the tea.

Finally, after waiting over 20 mins for our food, eating the terrible food and being so fed up with the terrible service, I asked for the bill. When the waitress asked us how the food was, I told her that it was terrible that we had been waiting for items from our first order, waiting for items from our second order, and that she was the first person to ask us if we needed anything an HOUR into our meal. She apologized for the inconvenience and offered us 10% off the bill. I wasn t happy with the 10% but wasn t going to argue for more of a discount.

The manager was not happy that the waitress offered us 10% off. When paying the bill, the manager said that we had to pay cash and that they did not accept debit or credit. OF COURSE THIS WAS A LIE. I could SEE the debit/credit machine on the counter AND had seen the table next to us pay with card. I should have told her to take my credit card or not take any payment. Penalizing us for receiving a discount BECAUSE YOUR SERVICE AND FOOD WERE TERRIBLE IS ABHORENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. ANOTHER thing that I wanted to argue about was that the menu price said $34.99, but the owner was charging everyone $35.99. I have no problem with the price increase if you ACTIVELY TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS that your prices have increased. But if the MENU says $34.99, you should be honouring that price. So at the end of the day, we paid $81.24 for terrible food and terrible service. I have never felt so ripped off in my life and honestly, there are MANY other sushi restaurants in Markham that are A MILLION TIMES better than Yang s and that INCLUDES food court sushi. All of those restaurants deserve your patronage.

I will NEVER return to this restaurant and honestly, I hope they lose business and close down, because I personally feel pain for everyone who spends their hard-earned money on this restaurant s sh-t food and sh-t service.

Not cheap, but Really good food, a lot of delicious dishes to choose, very worth the price ,but the service is not that friendly, servers do not look happy when you order more food, given we are paying dinner price for lunch. I would give it 5 star if they improve in their service and attitude

The food was average, when we walked in no one came to greet us and walk us to a table for about 5 minutes and it was not even busy at the moment, facilities and the place was clean. Average pricing.

I've been here a handful of times and had decent experiences. However, my visit last night was disappointing. The quality of the food has dropped quite a bit. My first bowl of miso soup had a small hair floating in it. The only dish I enjoyed were the steak skewers. Most of the dishes we ordered seem to have been prepared rushed. The staff seemed friendly enough. I was just so disappointed that most dishes seemed room temperature. Cheese wontons had less than a teaspoon of cheese. The sashimi was awful and tasted like it was left sitting out. When I ordered ice cream for dessert, 2 flavors were mashed into the same bowl and was partially melted. A couple odd things; a waiter giving a waitress massages and the staff vacuuming while there were still a few tables eating their dinner.

All in all, way over priced for what we received but the servers were kind.

The sashimi is really good but everything else is okay nothing really special. Dessert selection was too small. Quality of sushi and everything else was good but the noodles not so much. A good place for group meals

Went there for lunch a couple of days ago (april 7th) with some friends and family. 5/6 people got food poisoning. The only person who didnt get it was a picky eater that didnt eat meat or raw fish.

I went for the lunch AYCE. The food is very disappointing compared to what it used to be. This is the first time I've struggled to finish the first order at any AYCE sushi restaurant.

The grilled salmon was fried. The tempura wasn't made with tempura batter. The nori was soggy. Some of the rolls just looked depressing.

The waiters were very unprofessional and gossiping loudly and showing each other their phones as they stood around.

Also even with a group of 3, a 10% service charge was included in the bill.

Is it supposed to be all you can eat sushi? They allowed only two rounds of order and you have to order piece by piece. Limited choice of sushi-neta... Not even tuna is available. Non-sushi menus are okay.

This is our go-to sushi restaurant and the high quality of food has always been consistent. We are here at least three times a month (if not more haha). Sashimi, sushi, and other items taste fresh and prepared on the spot. Their hot items actually have flavour/quality, not just sitting in teriyaki sauce. Beef Sashimi - heavenly <3

The service is fast and the wait staff seem to never take breaks - very hard workers!

They have AYCE and a la carte options. One thing that is outdated is the ordering system for AYCE. Have to place your order verbally as the waiters/waitresses write each item down which can be time consuming when the restaurant is full and/or you have a larger party. Most AYCE sushi places now have Ipad ordering and/or a paper to write down your order.

However, when you have quality THIS good and THIS yummy, it deserves a 5-star :)

One of the best ayce sushi place I have been to in Markham. Their torched sushi is great, and their special scallops and king crab legs are nice to have during a Saturday or Sunday dinner. Soft drink are included in the bill and the price is definitely worth the quality of the food. Deserts are also cool. This is all from my experience here today.

This place has been around for a long time, I guess for good reasons. It's been over 5 years since I ate here - not because I had a bad experience, but because majority of my friends I go to AYCE sushi with are in Scarborough. I was pleasantly surprised that it was still around when looking for a place to treat friends.

Given it's been around for a while, the renovation does feel a bit dated. That aside, the food is good. Some might find the service slow, but I feel that gives you more time to digest and chat with friends. The staff was accommodating and had good attitude. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience from my most recent visit.

Yang s Sushi services are bad and their food are not up to standard. I have been told that the owner treat her staff very bad and she kept all the tips from the hard working employees who work for her, specially the one who works long hours. And they do not get their wages on time most of the time.

One of my favorite all you can eat sushi places, with a good selection of hot Japanese and Korean dishes to supplement.

Food arrives as it is ready, and the sushi rolls can take half an hour before they make it to table. This problem is easily solved by ordering some hot food which usually comes fairly quickly.
