I was asked through an email message from XCom Global to write a review of what I think of them. The email they sent me had the subject line, "Enter for a chance to win $20 from XCom Global" The email message said, "ENTER FOR A CHANCE TO
WIN $15 OFF".

This sums up my experience with XCom's Internet presence and communication. I receive coupons that don't work. I received emails with conflicting information, as described, above. When I try to use the web site to order, it's so poorly designed that I invariably wind up calling them on the phone.

Yet, I gave them four stars, because the actual service they provide is outstanding. The equipment has always worked great. The support by phone has been good, and the staff have always been pleasant. I have always received equipment on schedule, and I have only ever had to pay what was quoted. And yes, I continue to use their services, even though their communication methods are poorly executed. Kind of ironic, I suppose. I have used their technology throughout Europe and China without a hitch.

Very good to deal with and did what they said. The service in Haiti where I was located was only 2G and not usable for practical purposes even though the map indicated 3G there. They did issue a partial credit after I advised of my experience.

The unit would not connect when I first arrived in Auckland. After contacting support, the agent said he would take care of the problem and the unit should be working in 12 hours. It was working in less than 12 hours. Up to five devices were connected and as long as we had 3G service there was no problem downloading email, uploading photos, etc. At 2G the performance dropped off considerably. Since we were mostly in urban areas performance was adequate and met our expectations. If there is one downside, it's the battery, which barely lasted 2 hours. I was aware of this from reading other reviews and carried a power bank, which I kept connected to the XCom device inside my camera bag. The power bank allowed us to keep the device on all day without recharging. All in all, using XCom was convenient and definitely more economical than paying international rates for 5 phones.

Great experience with XCom Global. Have used their wifi's in Germany, Italy, France, and Mexico. On one trip the wifi broke and upon my return they refunded me money for the days not used. Great customer service.

These device have consistently worked for me since I started using them three years ago. Free WiFi in your hotel room in parts of Europe is still a rarity. I love that I can fire this up and not have to go to the lobby.

I used xcom global last spring in Rome and Athens. It worked good in major cities. One day I had a problem. I emailed them and they reset the system and worked fine for the rest of the trip. I got an extra battery so I could trade them out during the day. It was a great way to communicate back home without having to buy minutes or a international phone. I am considering using them again this summer.

I've been an XCom Global customer for many years, whenever I've traveled outside of the U.S. Even when the daily rate was $ 15.00 a day, I thought XCom Global was a great and cost effective solution to stay connected. I've used XCom Global hot spots in 10 different countries, all with total, complete, and unlimited connectivity.
You can pair up the hot spot with your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. When you're out and about with your smartphone, you can leave cellular data turned off so you're not accumulating high international roaming charges. You only need your wifi turned on and you're totally connected for e-mail, text messages, and unlimited web browsing. All you need is your smartphone and the XCom Global hotspot.
Setting up the hot spot is super easy and you always have a 800 number to call if you require tech support or general customer service.
Now, with the new $7.77 daily rate, I can't imagine leaving the U.S. without an XCom Global hot spot. At such a reasonable price, give it a try on your next international trip. You'll be glad you did.
