Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk Review

The staff was very friendly. They greeted us when ever they passed by us, so very polite. The beds were made nicely and the supplies were plenty and towels clean. HOWEVER the hotel itself was awful. The carpet was damp and the AC was more like a humidifier. I felt wet and sticky. We got a room on the second floor and when we opened up the window to let some light it.. OMG.. How disgusting our room view was the roof and it was gross. I didn't want to believe the horrible reviews on this hotel, I should have believed. You can tell that once upon a time this was a nice place to stay. Owners just stop caring and that's too bad because it's in a great location.

The reviews on here are over exaggerating the negative qualities of this hotel. Yes, it's a little ruff around the edges some of the doors are in needed of replacement but overall my group found the staff to be extremely helpful and generous. The lobby is beautiful, the bar area and staff were stunning. Truth be told we found some issues with the bathroom such as insects and mold on the shower curtain but the rest of the room was clean and there were no bugs under the mattress or box spring. So sure, It's not 100% perfect but for the price and location its not a bad deal. Management needs to address the conditions in the bathrooms.

I stayed at the Riverwalk about a month ago, I did have some issues but they were taken care of in a timely manner. Tabatha has been a great help through everything. My boyfried and I have decided to spend our 1 year anniversary in one of the many suites they have available. In any hotel you will have people complain about minor things such as hotel updates etc. But until you give it a shot and the price is not bad you will enjoy the friendly staff, the wonderful bar and the relaxing lobby. I look forward to my stay next month and time to just relax....

We recently stayed this past Saturday night. The service is HORRIBLE. We were never told at check in they would be holding $100 on our debit card, nor were we told that the required "valet service" charge is $12 per night per vehicle (we parked 2 vehicles). Never mind the fact that valet service is not open 24-hours and we had to park our car upon our return to the hotel that evening. Since there were no more rooms available with 2 double beds, we were told they would comp us a roll away. This was never brought to our room, even after I called the front desk to remind them we needed before we left out for dinner. When we were getting our stuff packed up we noticed there was "poop" on the comforter. I was so totally grossed out at this point. We did complain about all of this and were refunded the cost of the room and valet parking. I would not recommend anyone EVER stay at this hotel!!

This was a huge disappointment. It was supposed to be my one night away from my child and to spend a couples night in a nice hotel with my fiance. Upon arriving, the lobby looks amazing! You feel as though you will be in a beautiful room, hopefully overlooking the river. The first room I was in was dirty, with tampon in garbage and wet towels on the counter in bathroom. I called as I was leaving the hotel to let them know to clean the room. Kathryn at the front desk did what she was supposed to and called housekeeping. Who never came, after an hour and a half, we arrived to find the room still dirty. I then went to the front desk where they apologized and gave me another room. As we unpacked again, I left the room to get a soda. My fiance then came to meet me in the hallway and we went outside to walk by the river. Upon returning, we realized the DOOR WAS BROKEN and WOULDN'T LOCK!!! You didn't even need a key, only to push it open! I immediately went to the front desk again, for the 3rd time, and was given another room, 3 doors down. As we entered the 3rd room, it was missing pictures, chairs, and other nice things that were in the other rooms, as well as no curtains. Unless I am comped a room for this ridiculous service and horrible housekeeping/maintenance, I will not be staying at the Wyndham again. For what I paid I could have gone to and Extended Stay America for a couple of days and had a decent room!!!

What a dump. This place is not recommended. Hotel is old and showing its age. I thought I was at a biker bar. Some other guest were very loud and "security" was no help. Ice on several floors was non existent. The staff was very nice this was the good thing.

I was there for a wedding, and it was a fantastic experience! Obviously the wedding meant I was already in high spirits, but the hotel really contributed to making it that much better.

Staff were helpful, organised and informative (It was my first time in the States), and the environment was well taken care of. In addition, the price didn't dig too much of a hole in my pockets!

Overall a great experience, I would stay there again!

DO NOT STAY HERE...unless you want to move to 3 different rooms before giving up on finding clean sheets. First room: No AC and blood on the sheets. Room #2: Pube hairs in the bed along with a booger. Fresh semen stain on the bed skirt (no joke we have pictures). Room #3: Spider and mold stains. The lobby looks nice and although the front desk girl is sweet she is completely clueless. Everyone that works there rarely speaks or seems uninterested in interacting with their guests. The front lobby looks nice until the elevator doors open to a Motel 6 (which I expect would actually be cleaner than this place). The "vending machine area" had an old sink and old chairs and other trash stashed in it, but alas no vending machine. The carpets are dirty and the walls and ceiling are falling apart. Room service trays were left in the halls to be tripped over for hours on end. Overall, this place felt like a creepy, dirty, run down psych ward. DON"T DO IT. TRUST ME.

The hotel was quite pricey for the services it provides. In addition. In the morning the water pressure was extremely low. I called the front desk and asked if we could change rooms. They stated it was a problem with the entire hotel. I'm not sure if that is a regular problem, but the resolution was to simply wait until the problem resolved. Also, valet only was costly and unnecessary. Convenient location is the only positive to this stay.

Comfortable and great service. Boardwalk next to hotel folks casting nets. Buckets of shrimp. Amazing. Breakfast best I've had on the road. Room wired. Lot's of convenient plug-ins. Great internet connection.
