I'd rather (and actually do) travel 1,000 miles from Iowa to have Gary Parsons set up my bowling equipment than let anyone else touch it. +20 pins to my scratch average after he plugged/redrilled my old arsenal. No kidding. There's a whole line of "Guru" bowling balls named after him, and I never wonder why. If you live in DC Metro and go anywhere else to get your equipment drilled ... well, maybe you don't like high scores. You could show up to your league and throw the plastic house balls if you wanted, too.

Gary is a old-school expert craftsman, full-stop. Nobody does this kind of work any more, and his equipment pricing was exactly the same as most web pricing. I love my big box stores, but if I were a competition skiier, I wouldn't get fitted for bindings there - I'd go to an expert. Gary is a bowling expert.
Gary "GURU" is awesome... Working with him was a very pleasant and educational experience.. I will be going back too him..

Can't say enough about my Experience here. I stopped bowling for a long time, I am rusty on terminology and the technology of the current state of bowling. Gary is a true champion of the sport and exudes the ability to effortlessly create a conversation about the history of the sport that I love so much. I just went in to drill a couple of balls for Dale and I and left feeling positive about coming back again and again. I recommend this shop to anyone. Beginner, Expert, Pro, come get a bit of knowledge from Gary. Ps they named the "Guru" line of bowling balls after Gary.
Gary and his crew were extremely helpful and inviting. All three guys had great knowledge of drilling and the sport. This is the best pro shop I have ever been to! Seeming the last two places weren't extremely helpful nor were they as exact and precise with measuring for the ball. If you want one of the best spots in Maryland, THIS is it. Thank you guys for everything! I will definitely be coming back here!

Gary is a genius. He has been bowling since the 50's and knows his stuff better than anyone else. If you are looking to get properly set up be sure to check this place out! Prices are great and the knowledge is endless.
Best Pro Shop I've done business with to date! Listens to concerns and is very knowledgeable. Gary The Guru is absolutely a cool and smart guy who can help anyone average increase. We drive one hour once or twice a week to get our equipment serviced there. It's worth the trip.
My experience was very informative and educational. Mr. Gary known as the "GURU" was very knowledgeable and he should be in the Bowling Hall of Fame, hands down! Those who are in charge of the Hall of Fame should see that this accomplished individual be acknowledged for his tireless work and support to the Sport of Bowling.
Only went there because it was the only shop that opens on Sunday and I needed my bowling ball to be drilled asap, but I'm so glad that I got to meet Gary who is very knowledgeable and have a passion to share his knowledge to bowlers who are trying to be better. He takes his time to make sure the drilling and grips are perfectly works for you. I was so shocked at how much effort that he puts in to just drill a ball for someone. It's totally worth whatever your paying for his service, he's basically giving you a free bowling lesson. There's so much to learn from Gary. Thank you!!!
