Fantastic venue. Great "new" owners. Wonderful public events and perfect front bar with good happy hour and entertainment even if there is a show going on in the big room. Rock and roll "camp" experience for those who want to be a better picker or drummer (or flautist, etc). Fantastic mural of local music legends, both living and dead from the last 50 years in Birmingham. All in all, the Hunter Brothers had a great idea for a business and they have passed it into very competent hands!

This is an Amazing venue to see a live concert. Intimate and great acoustics! The performers are right in your face. Pricing on drinks is very good. Highly recommend seeing a band here. Great date night location.

Great sound, most attentive wait stuff I have ever encountered in an event location, good prices, and a great bar area with discounted drinks during happy hour plus free bands.
Why not 5 stars? The high ceiling and balconies make the place easily feel empty. I have been to many great shows but if the auditorium seems empty it takes away from the experience. The best shows were probably not even the best shows but simply sold-out shows.

Great space a smoking area outside the venue was full not to pack sound system was freaking awesome but the bartenders didn't know how too make drinks so maybe they were covering for the real bartenders who aren't there but i totally enjoyed myself and will be looking to attend another guest list event

Place works to fit the act. Been to easy acoustic shows with seating and table drink service. Same showroom has been a raucous high energy rock show. Drinks are good. Granted you get what you pay for and they have a captive audience. I'm not the most concert friendly person. Been taken by friends and can honestly say it was the quality of shows and venue that made the experience wonderful.

Great music.

Here tonight. Paid an extra $50 for a table and when we got there we had no table reserved. We were left off the list. They sat us at a table of 5 and told us we would have to share with someone that we don't know but never offered us any money back for the $50 we spent. I will be contacting management. Otherwise 95.7 and 98.7 did great with the No Limit vs Cash Money party.

I saw Guster, Jukebox the Ghost, Hundred Waters, and Freelance Whales all at the Workplay. While the larger stage is nice for some bands, the smaller, more intimate stage is a much more pleasant experience. If you're looking for some quality bands playing in Alabama, this is usually where they're at if they're not at the Bottletree.

On this night July 13th 2018 the bartenders working the bottom level were very RUDE!! Understand you knew your Job when you clocked in. You also knew that the crowd was gonna be extra crowded therefore you should have prepared yourself. I would not recommend you guys for nothing you dont work well under pressure!!!!!

Really nice venue, they just didn't seem very well prepared. It took like an hour and a half for them to retrieve the list from the artist who was playing to get me into the venue. I ended up having to wait until after the doors opened. Other then that, everything was okay I suppose.

Excellent place to have a drink, catch up with friends, catch a show, or just relax!
Staff are friendly and attentive, great happy hour specials, awesome live music in the WorkPlay Bar most evenings, and great shows inside the WP Theatre. Owners are terrific and make an effort to speak to all patrons.

Truly wonderful place to see a concert. No obstacles. No sight line issues. Nice high stage. Good sound. Perfect size and they don't oversell occupancy. I would love to see my favorite band here again and again.

Fun place but the bar is limited and the bartenders so untrained they don't know how to make classic cocktails.

The music from the live band was entirely too loud, and one couldn't communicate with the waitress even screaming at the top of one's lungs.

Caught lettuce in concert. Rare sightings of these dudes and definitely didn't expect them to show up in Bham. Wow! Venue changed from Avondale brewery to Work play day before concert but it was all good. Workplay acoustics we're awesome! Crowd fantastic! Need more waittresses

One of my favorite venues to visit in Birmingham, period. Great staff and always an awesome show, whether it s in the soundstage area or the smaller show room in front. Great drinks and hip atmosphere. Lots of cool bands you may not have heard of perform here, alongside several international headliners, so it s easy to catch a show and watch your favorite singer AND find a similar act you may fall in love with by accident. Tommy and Courtney are wonderful people, and they are at their own venue often working hands-on.

There is something about live music that just ain't the same as anywhere else. The bass, the drums, and the vocals, it can't be duplicated. It's a memorable and enjoyable experience. Rock on!
