Massively overrated. The bedrooms are very poor - noisy floorboards and very soft uncomfortable beds. The restaurant is bang average - the same dish is inconsistent - sometimes good, sometimes bad. Most of all the service is totally chaotic. The front desk is particularly bad - lots of waiting around while people sit in the back out of sight. All in all, hugely overpriced.

This place is lovely, really lovely, so it pains me to give anything less than a five star review. However, it is also expensive, and is surely a very special treat for most visitors, it certainly was for us. My son has some quite specific dietary requirements and in the lead up to our stay, the team handled it very well, this didn't go quite so well when we first arrived. I won't go into details, it certainly wasn't terrible service, but it also wasn't exemplary. It was mentioned to senior staff on checkout and handled supremely well. We will definitely go back and I look forward to upgrading my review to 5 stars.

We stayed at Woolley Grange for two nights and it was the most relaxing mini break we have ever had. I thought being away with our baby was going to be quite stressful as it had been the time before but luxury family hotels literally look after every detail and everything that you could possibly need - changing mats, supplies, baby food and fresh purees, daytime activities for kiddies and absolutely top notch food. We loved the swimming lesson with our little one and also exploring the massive grounds and playing badminton. But back to the food, seriously, really really great food!
Our room was stunning - really spacious and very charming with exposed beams. The whole property is full of character and is so close to Bath and Bradford upon Avon with so much to do around there, we d rush back in a heartbeat. xxx

Really quirky country house. Loved the furniture and especially old fair ground horse Everything designed for families. Special menus everything for kids. Even a bottle service. Lovely spa with sauna and steam rooms. Only problem evening meal had little for veggies and vegans.

Very interesting place. Target audience is family with children... there was a couple of little issues but the hotel response was way way above expectation... to the point that I was explaining that the issues didn't warrant the fantastic way they responded. I would stay again as the location and hotel is very nice

Very haphazard SLOW service. Waited 30 minutes for toast and coffee far too many times. High prices, poor quality food & service. Staff are poorly selected. Gorgeous gardens. Too much chlorine in outdoor & indoor pools. Great place if you have lots of patience.

As a family we used to enjoy staying at this Hotel, but since the new management team have started the customer service recieved from returning customers is unbelievably bad. They assume that customers are liers and that "they are always correct". They shamefully call themselves a family friendly hotel when actually they do not welcome returning customers. It's unbelivable that they can survive in this market wth such negative attitide towards customers. I woud have assumed that customer service was the most important thing when running a business? I will never be staying at this hotel again.

Fantastic! Its not overly glamourous but feels very cosy and homely. The grounds are lovely. Food is spot on and very creative. Amazing baby listening service is a winner everytime! Had two lovely candle-lit dinners while our baby slept upstairs while reception listen in. Plenty for the kids and the local town of Bradford-upon-avon is lovely too with a 25 walk.

I have been to wooley Grange hotel before and today was not disappointed, after quarantine I had not been out to eat or walk round the garden in the lovely vacinity of Woolley. We had a lovely waitress called Anna and Jenna they are two really nice ladies who nothing is too much trouble! We had a lovely meal I had a burger that was cooked to perfection by the lovely chef dom. My father had a massive lobster that was cooked lovely by head chef Jethro. Thank you Woolley for another great meal looking forward to coming again!

We've just returned from a post lockdown break at Woolly Grange and it was brilliant. The hotel is aimed squarely at families with a relaxed country style. The Hotel sits above the pretty town of Bradford on Avon and there is much to do and visit locally. That said there is also much to do in and around the grounds of the hotel. From pond dipping, den building, marshmallow toasting and swimming to fruit picking, trampolining and bat hunting there is much to do. There is also a spa for parents to relax. The food was great and the service professional and friendly, if at times a little slow although the hotel was busy and I think this was probably down to the adjustments required to allow for current restrictions. All in all we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend to others looking for a relaxing break.

This is a family-friendly hotel with a quirky feel and lots of activities for children, however in my opinion the novelty of it isn't worth the steep price tag. The food is excellent but the hotel itself is tired and dirty which I don't think is acceptable for a hotel that describes itself as a luxury family hotel. Overall not value for money and not luxury, hence the 2 star rating.

Hotel is pleasant, on nice grounds and well located and staff are welcoming and friendly. It markets itself as kid-friendly which is definitely the case. However, the restaurant (including breakfast) is chaotic and service wasn't especially good at any time during our stay. Is a shame as has potential but the quality of service doesn't really correspond to the high cost of accommodation and food.

We planned this stay as our first stay away with a baby and it could not go more wrong than it did.
As we were planning it, hotel staff were so kind and responsive, we felt like we were taken care of as a family. The whole booking and planning experience was amazing.

BUT when we got there, we were shocked how dusty our room was. We have decided to air it out and just hide all dusty and shall i say also stained pillows away into cupboard. We just wanted to relax and decided to stay at least one out two nights ( as we did also drive 3 hours with 8 months old to get there). After coming back into room, baby started having blocked nose and slight cough. We tried to amend our spa bookings for next day so we could leave early. By 7 pm our baby had awful asthma like cough and waterworks, we packed up and left. We were so worried about our baby and too exhausted to address any of it with hotel on the spot, we have provided our feedback over email and hope that will be taken on board.

Room we stayed in was booked as Family Room ( premium type room) which in Gallery was presented as brand new refurbished room, in reality turned out to be un refurbished room, full of stained old dirty and dusty pillows, stained red with dark patches carpets - a death trap for people with allergy. Of course room is not listed on hotel page or any other pages lol.

Nothing was too much trouble and that made all the difference to help us relax with our little boy Louis after a very stressful few months. All the team were fantastic but especially Jordan, Kay, Fred, Jane and Anna. So much so we stayed an extra night! Something we've never done before! We loved all the little details like the name reservation being in Louis's name on the dining table, Kay getting him the koala bib every day because he loved it and just the overall care and the fun of the place. It felt romantic too being able to have an hour to ourselves and indulge in the g&t made by Fred and we got to take home scones - thank you! Can't wait to be back. We've aready recommended it to our friends and family.

We choose this hotel because it is family friendly. There are excellent provisions for parents of babies and toddlers such as a bottle washing service, free milk, a listening service and a Ofsted rated nursery. The hotel itself is a picturesque manor house with a well kept and working walled garden (which supplies the kitchen with fresh seasonal vegetables and eggs), a nature garden for children to explore and a lawn with games set up (again for children, but my wife and enjoyed a game of swing ball!). There are two pools, with the outdoor pool being heated and the indoor pool being located in the spa. The room we had was large and spacious, but not super child proofed. At Woolley Grange, young children have high tea at 6 o'clock and parents can have some pre-dinner drinks while they eat. Each child gets a "reversed" table sign with their name on it. Our 17 month old was too young to appreciate it, but I am.sure older children would like it. Adults can then make use of the listening service (or hire a sitter) and have dinner staring at 7:30. The food for both adults and children is really good. There are a nice range of drinks, with local beers and wines as well. The staff are some of the friendliest i've ever encountered. They all handled working around/with young children well. On our first night, our son woke up just after we finished our main and the sitter was unable to calm him (teething) so we had to abandon desert, so the following night the restaurant staff worked hard to get us our food quicker should we have another disturbance - which thankfully we didn't! Overall I was really impressed and pleased with our stay and we will be going back.

We would like to thank everyone involved in organising & arranging our fabulous small family wedding day at this amazing & special venue.... Every thing was absolutely perfect and just as we had envisaged and hoped for. Our guests had a fabulous time as did we staying in your John Baskerville suite. The reception meal food was superb... Our compliments to the chef & a very special thankyou for the wonderfully relaxing spa treatment and delicious afternoon tea (incredible value) I shared with my friends the day before. Made our day extra special.

Beautiful place! Booked for a mother and daughter ...

Beautiful place! Booked for a mother and daughter spa day and had the worst start to our spa experience with being told our treatment bookings hadn't been booked correctly, only one person could have a treatment, not very helpful staff and then being told the voucher I used to make the booking now wasn't valid so I would have to pay aa they wouldn't honor the voucher, even though I had confirmed everything before the day and everything was fine. So that ruined it for us, but a lovely manager called Claire came to our rescue and turned the awful experience around and could not have been more helpful, we had our treatments and the afternoon tea which was lovely and my daughter finally got to enjoyed her first spa experience! I do recommend the spa staff have customer service training as their interaction with myself and the other spa users was poor.
But a massive thank you to Claire and the lovely staff in the hotel for making us feel very welcome!

Lovely family friendly hotel. Suitable for families with newborn, toddlers, young children and upwards. Inside play den and outside mini park /swings and walks etc nearby. Feels safe, clean, tidy and welcoming.

Visited for afternoon tea with a toddler which was enjoyable and then had a play in the cold friendly rooms and play den.

Afternoon tea was nice (3pm) but there was room for improvement, eg no milk provided with tea (we requested some and they apologised), the sandwich bread was dry and I assume prepared earlier, we didn't have enough jam for the scones, we were given three fruit scones and one plain instead of having two of each. All small things that didn't really bother us.

We were in a room of all adults but there was children's music being played eg lounge postman pat, the wheels on the bus etc which seemed strange, but again didn't bother anyone.

The scones were warm and the cakes were delicious. Our toddler (2.5yr old) loved the child hot chocolate (perfect temperature for a child!) jelly and ice cream with sprinkles, scone, cheese sandwiches and humous with vegetables. Only the sandwiches were left as she was full on the sugar! Thankfully there were a few areas she could run around to work off the sugar after!

We live nearby and will visit again, and will hopefully use the pool next time.

We visited previously whilst friends were staying and shared afternoon tea on a summers day which was busy but still nice.

If we didn't live so close we would definitely stay the night. We regularly use the moonfleet Manor Hotel (same chain) in Weymouth and love the family friendly atmosphere and how well they cater for babies and children.

Generally very good but some aspects, given prices, were a bit tired and in need of tidying. Lady on desk was a bit officious eg not willing to provide a toasted tea cake with afternoon tea saying they are only served in the morning .... bizarre!

Great experience for the family. Extremely kid centric, kids get their personalised table tag for every meal which they love as well as cinema sessions everyday. The gardens is awesome, the kids playroom huge and there's even an Ofsted nursery onsite... what else do you need? Only downside... there's no Jacuzzi or hammam in the SPA :) otherwise that would be a 5 star review!
