I am not normally a reviewer and poster but my recent surgical experience at Womack truly deserves discussion. Two weeks ago I had cervical spine surgery that required both anterior and posterior entry. I haven't had surgery since I was 15 years old in 1977 so I was a little apprehensive. The orthopedic spine surgery team, led by Dr. Cleveland, did a great job walking me through the problems, imagery, options, risks, and potential benefits of the proposed surgery and treatments. I have zero medical background but they worked hard to help me understand what is a life-altering decision. I had confidence in them when I decided to go forward with the procedure.

Post operation, I also had a great experience, first the ICU, where I spent a short time so that they could monitor me more closely since I had spent such a long time in the OR, then on the floor on 2 North. Both had excellent, attentive staffs that are well trained and fully patient oriented. I was also so very grateful as to how well my wife was treated. She was kept informed throughout the 9.5 hours of surgery and treated like family during the 3 plus days spent inpatient until discharge. I have a long recovery ahead but I truly think that the care I received has put me on a path toward a healthier, more pain free life.

I spent nearly 35 years in the military and am very grateful we retired near an excellent hospital like Womack Army Medical Center . Well done folks and please accept the thanks and gratitude of this Army family.

Surgeon: Dr. Cleveland Orthopedic surgeon

Surgeon: Dr. Cleveland Orthopedic surgeon
Procedure: Spine, L4/L5 Decompression

Dr. Cleveland done a tremendous job on my spine. His professionalism and his will to communicate with his patient one on one via personal cell phone makes him a one of a kind surgeon. Careful, caring, willing to listen, not pushy, fast communication through personal text or call, excellent surgeon.

This is my second operation here at Womack, first operation was done by Dr. Jackson in 2018 for spinal cervical laminoplasty. Dr. Jackson highly approves of Dr. Cleveland's competence as a surgeon and doctor.
Staff done a good job during post-op care as well.

As a meal card holder the cafeteria is a terrible experience. You food options are very limited, the rules sometimes make no sense and the check out ladies are quite rude. 4/5 for the rest of the hospital though.

Everyone likes to complain about Womack but I have had great experiences! Delivered both my girls there! And my daughter when she was 1 years old got pneumonia and the pediatric team was great! The only complaint I have is they let some captain do my epidural, I think he was training but didn't know for sure. And it hurt soooo bad! But the first time I had an epidural it was a older man and it didn't hurt at all!

My niece just this week had her baby there at Womack Army Medical Center. I have worked at several hospitals during my nursing career and I can tell you this hospital is the nicest, cleanest with the most professional staff you will find. Just want to thank everyone for their service and dedication!

Don t waste your time here. They have no accurate medical knowledge. I ve been here multiple times and they only disappoint me. I went in with a open wound on my head that was bleeding out from a concrete fall. They stated it was a scratch and I should return to PT/work ASAP. Didn t even patch my wound up. The next day, I went to a civilian doctor near where I live (Cary). Turns out, I have an concussion.

Gave birth to my last daughter here in 2013. Worst experience of my life !!!! I had agreed for a c section from day one of my pregnancy but I went into labor 4 days before I was scheduled to have it done. My husband was flying out to be with me that afternoon. But I went into labor Monday morning (she wasn't going to wait) I arrived at 11:30 am at 5 dilated. Placed in a room alone with my mil. A nurse hooked me up gave me a gown to put on and said you have to take everything off, then walked out. Me & my mil struggled for 10 minutes trying to get me changed ( I weighed 199 & she 110) by 12pm I was fully dilated in crazy pain with no pain medication. The nurse came in and told us I wasn't allowed anything because I'm scheduled for a epidural for c section and that would be enough smdh. She also said someone came in further along then me so she had to go first, they will get me after the room is cleaned. 12:30 pm they finally came to get me after screaming like crazy from the pressure and pain. I couldn't lay back or stop shaking. Nor close my legs because baby was literally coming out as they rolled me back to the room. The nurse that was in front of me was pinching me trying to get me to stop screaming and stay still so I could get the epidural..... I was pleaing to this woman to catch my baby I can't hold her anymore. She said stop and hold it!!!! They laid me down & proceed with the c section smmfh so much more I could say about that experience by Itself but not enough space. Just know I'll never put a foot in that hospital again.

I am currently 7+ Months pregnant with my first child. My husband and I have had nothing but positive and reassuring visits at WAMC. I am looking forward to delivery my child there in late August/Early September 2015. I feel the majority of the staff I have seen listen well, do everything they can to help, and work with my needs and requests well.

I had horrible road burn on my legs and I now have a screwed up ankle because they didn't do anything to help me. They took me in to a room poured some stuff over it and bandaged me up, (I asked them not to scrub my leg because OW!) but that was it. They didn't give me anything for infection, a day later my leg and foot was swollen and I had an infection in it. Then they just left me in a hallway and no one came to check on me or talk to me or anything. I didn't even have my stuff to call my parents because they wouldn't give it me. I would have asked for it but no one was around. Horrible horrible horrible experience.

Overall worst medical facility I have EVER visited...

Overall worst medical facility I have EVER visited in my life. Doctors don't care about their patients at all. They shove pills down your throat that do nothing for your medical condition. When you're truly injured and truly can't do your job they blow you off and basically tell you to drink more water and take Ibuprofen. They constantly send you back to Physical therapy KNOWING it doent help. Dismiss the true reason for your pain and throw other reasons out there that are totally unrelated to your issue. Refuss to do MRIs and Xrays. When they do request them they dismiss the recommendations of the radiologist giving the report. Overall incompetent lazy doctors who have NO conpassion for anyone but themselves.

Have been calling for 2 weeks straight and there is no answer, no voice recording, no menu option...absolutely nothing. Have to drive all the way to post with a newborn just to make an appointment because they have a terrible communication system. The only pediatric center in WAMC yet they can't do something as simple as pick up the phone. Fix your system!!

The ER was fantastic from my experiences here, but the OB department is horrible. The front desk staff are very nice and welcoming though. I never met with an actual doctor, which raises many red flags in my mind. On my first visit at 8 weeks, I saw an LPN who took my vitals, then sent me to labs for bloodwork. Then at my 11 week appointment I saw an ARNP who made me feel very uncomfortable. She had a dry personality, was very rough with my pap, and treated me like an idiot. They didn t even want to see me again until 20 weeks and only then I could expect to have my first ultrasound. I m so glad that I will never go back there again. They make you feel like just a number, like you and your baby don t mean anything to them. They just want to do the bare minimum to get you in and out as quick as possible. I find it weird to have to wait until 20 weeks to get your first ultrasound. Seems irresponsible to me.

Poor service. Rude -unemphatic staff. This use to be a great hospital. The ER is a joke. Went there for a possible stroke. Nurse in the ER wrote down my S.O.A.P. note on a paper hand towel (not joking) and listed completely wrong symptoms from what I told her. This just confused the doctor and caused my visit to be like a bad game of 'telephone'.

Possible stroke and they didn't give me an oxygen mask, left me sitting in the treatment room for over 30 minutes, a student checked on me once during that time, and they did not take or order any blood work nor a CT scan of my brain. There were only three other patients in the ER that night. It was not busy and plenty of RNs just sitting around at the front desk for this to be happening.

Family medicine is no better. Ms. Grant is the ONLY one that cares and has compassion at the Family Medicine front desk.....the rest of the front desk staff can barely look at you, don't go out of their way to help you, and they have zero sense of urgency. They do not care and the doctors are no better.

I can't tell you how many times I have left a family medicine doctors appointment where I was either so upset by the doctor's complete lack of respect, rudeness - -or- -my lab work or a prescription was not put in and I had to go back to the doctors and wait till they did so correctly. Last appointment, I had a student doctor who screened me and was back briefing the doctor about my case IN THE HALLWAY of the clinic. I know this because I could hear him outside even with the door closed. Complete HIPPA Violation.

As for the Radiology clinic, the woman at the front desk in Radiology is horrible. She is very lazy, gives you an attitude straight out of the gate , and does not want to do her job. She will literally stand there and hand you a yellow 'radiology appointment line' business card, tells you to call the number to make a radiology appointment and she is the one you end up talking to on the phone to make the radiology appointment. I am standing right in front of you asking to make an appointment! Seriously, how lazy of a receptionist do you have to be to send a patient away, who happens to be sick and in pain, who is standing right in front of you, and you have the gall to tell that patient to go away and call you back on the phone? That wasn't an isolated incident. She did that to me three times and she has done this to many other people as well.

Secondly, I have had this same radiology front desk lady tell me wrong times of when my appointment was, had her name as the person who made the appointment, was marked down as a no-show because of it, and I was told it was my fault ! How is that even possible for a patient to be at fault because you put it in the computer and told the patient a completely wrong date AND time?

I would give this hospital zero stars if I could. I actually don't come here that much because I am pretty healthy. Just prescription refills, paperwork that needs to be signed and physicals for work , the occasional sickness or mishap like the time I had hemiplegia (left side of body and face went completely numb) as mentioned above.

That being said, all the above unprofessional behavior has happened just in the few times that I have had to visit Womack AMC. I can only imagine what others go through who have sick family members and have to interact with these people.

Horrible Horrible Horrible! I cannot believe this is the quality of service that our men women and families get for sacrificing so much! I have waited over 4 hours and counting right now to be seen. I haven t even been called back to get vital signs. My husbands deployed, I have a child that needs to be at school tomorrow, it s late and she hasn t been able to eat dinner yet. The head nurse came out and apologized for the wait and assured everyone of well nothing... basically she said sorry but expect to wait a lot longer. So disappointed in the quality of care being given at this facility! With all the hardships that the military family has to endure getting healthcare in a timely manner should not be one of the added hardships!

I gave birth to both of my children (2002 & 2006) and I have nothing but good things to say about Womack hospital and their staff. Thru the years I had surgery, multiple emergency visits and multiple clinic visits (Clark, Troop Family Command also known as Byars Clinic) and they are always great. The facilities are always clean and the staff is nice, knowledgeable simply excellent. All I have is tons of gratitude and complements for Womack and their staff.

Uncaring and uncaring people I am ashamed how this facility handles and treats our soldiers and how prepared they are to handle PTSD . The social worker that was assigned to our case Donald Guffie should be made to retire he goes out of his way to make the situation worse and I do not know how he keeps his title. Horrible experience!!

They honestly don't care for their soldiers or their soldiers families. Wife was suppose to get induced because of consistently high blood pressure and we called in the morning at 0730 and labor & delivery kept telling us there is no room available for us and that they'll call back later no call back had to call them myself and there is still no room for us so at this point we are going to wait 2 more hours then start working on getting a outside referral. Oh and the worst receptionist we have ever seen in OBGYN, they are rude and inconsiderate to the patients. The receptionist act like we are taking up their time when its their job to help us.
UPDATE: They said they would call at 1300 it is now 1400 and no call

Dr Cleveland at Womack Orthopedics performed a Microdiscectomy on me. I had a herniated disc between L5-S1 and was in tremendous pain. Two weeks following surgery I felt good with little to no pain at all. Six weeks following surgery I feel great and can perform most past activities prior to the herniated disc. The difference between before surgery and now is a night and day difference. I am so thankful I had the surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Cleveland and his staff. He was very professional, confident in his abilities and thoroughly answered all questions and concerns I had.

I have never had a bad experience with WAMC until recently! My sick baby was admitted to pediatric north! instead of the nurses helping/assisting you with your baby , they gossip about you to all the other nurses and try to diagnose you! they were on social media / ordering stuff online instead of helping! they didn't offer my babies formula which they should have because a lot of babies are on soy! i'm so furious , i will never return ! I would not recommend !

I have had nothing but the best of care from the bariatric team, had gastric bypass and gallbladder removal and my level of care was excellent!
Simone at the bariatric clinic is beyond amazing, and caring, if you want to meet a super hero in disguise she is it!
Dr. Belami is also amazing, she did my trigger finger surgery and I was beyond impressed with her knowledge and how she decided on surgery when another physicians (off post doc) course of treatment was just prolonging the on going issue.
I have had good and bad experiences at the Emergency Room, my husband has been stationed at Ft. Bragg since 2005, and the ER department has improved greatly, but at times when a patient like me who has previous conditions, comes in to the ER with issues who present very differently from previous migraines, I wish the doctor would of listened to me and my new symptoms and order tests vs just giving the standard migraine cocktail and sending me home, because now that the cause of the headaches is known I am trying to schedule tests and scrambling to get a diagnosis that they could of caught almost 2 weeks ago. It would of saved me a lot of time and worry, for me and my family.

Currently a patient here with my brand new first b...

Currently a patient here with my brand new first baby. I was seen by a midwife during my pregnancy and she was amazing and really prepared me for birth and after. I was borderline unreasonable in my wishes to have a natural birth but she really worked with me to extend the pregnancy and give me every chance to have the birth I wanted. There was one receptionist who straight harassed me at the front desk of OBMidwifery so I dreaded checking in every time but other than that prenatal care was exceptional.

Labor and delivery completely blew my mind in the best way when my day finally came. I came in convinced my water was broken at 41.5 weeks and the tests came back negative, but my blood pressure was high. It had been trending higher and I had been seen for a minor heart condition as well. The OB didn t feel comfortable letting me go because of being past term and having iffy vitals. Even though I had been resolute to go into labor on my own, I had the overwhelming sense that this was the right time and had peace letting them admit me for induction. Turns out my water was broken and it started to gush right after my first check. I went through about 17 hours of induced labor and three total crews. I was assigned an OB rather than midwife because of my circumstances. The WHOLE labor I felt like my nurse and my doctor could read my mind. They let me be in control of decisions, were attentive and caring, and extremely patient and knowledgeable, especially nurse Salcido and Dr. Monson. My birth was far from what I envisioned but I felt so safe the whole time. I ended up needing some interventions I hoped to avoid, but I think a lot of other places would ve been rushing me back for a C-section instead of monitoring me closely. Everything that happened during my birth felt like my decision and I was not pressured or scared into anything against my judgement. I had so much peace that everything happened exactly how it needed to as they placed my baby on my chest. I would not want to go anywhere else after this experience. They acted deliberately and with confidence but stayed calm at the same time. Just amazing.

Also mother-baby treats you like royalty and I didn t want to leave.

I m a first time mom, but a very crunchy one who had tall expectations of this experience. WAMC exceeded them all and gave me a perfect birth experience.

The LPN at my visit was so friendly and had great service. I wish I got her name. When the nurse practitioner walked in she was so rude! I was already frustrated with my situation and trying to explain to her why I was there. Her whole attitude was I m not interested, you re wasting my time, and get out of here! This is not an acceptable way to treat any patient. This was my first time at the acute clinic and it wasn t a pleasant experience with some of the staff. Some staff members could benefit from further training with treating and handling their patients with better care!!

This place is terrible. My appendix ruptured and i went to the ER 3 times and twice they sent me away saying nothing was wrong with me. On the 3rd day of the rupture I had to be carried into the hospital and I looked like death. They still attempted to say nothing was wrong but they ran tests on me when i puked in the waiting room and my family threw a fit.I was so sick and I almost died. They are lucky they didn't get sued.

I recently had a C5-6 ACDF at Womack by Dr Cleveland and his team. I had an excellent experience and woke up from surgery improved and with less pain than I had before surgery. Every member of the team did an outstanding job. Dr Cleveland thoroughly explained the pre-op and post-op course and expectations. Angela and Allison in the ortho clinic were extremely helpful and kept the process efficient. Additionally, the perioperative and surgery ward staff were very respectful, knowledgeable, and took very good care of me during my hospital stay. I would highly recommend Dr Cleveland and his team.

Rude receptionist by the OBGYN clinic, the medical records side, and the pediatrics clinic. I wish I would ve known the last doctor that saw me at obgyn, I swear I would ICE her hard for her malpractice as well as her lack of concern for her patients. A person shouldn t fight for their reasons of pain! Most of these military doctors don t even know what they are doing, let alone even be in any medical facilities!

Normally I'm completely understanding of medical staff. I have a venous malformation on the side of my left foot since I was little and had surgery on it before, but it's growing and hurts, can't stand on it for a long period if time and it'll go numb every now and again randomly. I was referred to a vascular surgeon and had to have an ultrasound before I made an appointment with the surgeon. Went in for the ultrasound, got a call today with my results saying the veins and arteries of my ANKLE was fine. They were looking at the wrong part of my body. How do you miss a large malformation on a foot when you're staring right at it?! You can clearly see it's my foot and not my ankle. I even told them it was my foot. I have to wait a couple weeks for the surgeon to get back to get it rescheduled and an actual appointment with her. It's almost been a month and a half since this started. I've never more stressed about it, I seriously am baffled on how ridiculous they handled it.

Awful. Worst MTF I've ever been treated at. The doctors in Family Medicine have NO idea what they are doing. We have a special needs child, with extensive medical history/current problems... every time we visit Womack for an appointment, they ask if my child has any medical history. They don't bother to read up on their patients, or give any sound advice. We waited two MONTHS for a referral to go through that one of the Womack doctors put in for my daughter to be seen at a civilian clinic... that's because the dr kept entering it wrong, and/or left out vital info. Totally unacceptable!

Dr. Cleveland is a superb doctor in every way. Very knowledgeable, explained everything in a way that could be easily understood. He was up front about my neck situation and the pros and cons of the surgical procedure. He thoroughly explained my options and possible outcomes and was able to address all of my concerns. All of the above made me very comfortable in choosing cervical fusion of C6 & C7 ACDF surgery. Dr. Cleveland worked very hard to work me into his very busy schedule. The ACDF surgery outcome and quick recovery exceeded my expectations. Thanks to the men and women of 2 North, nurses and staff, anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetists, occupational therapist, physical therapist, pharmacist, and Dr. Cleveland. I feel very fortunate to have had my medical procedure performed at Womack Army Medical Center.

The waits are unacceptable. Waited 4 hours onepiece night to only discover they skipped over me on the triage. When I confronted them I was told they see by acuity, but then they rushed me back after realizing they made a mistake and offered no apology. Then followed up with my doc the next day and they told me the er doc gave me the wrong meds for my problem. This place is a joke. Go to Sanford or Dunn before here.

The ER is horrible at Womack, if you didn't come in on a stretcher than you are treated like you aren't important and that it's okay for them to have you waiting for hours even though you're uncomfortable and scared. Not all the ER staff are bad, a lot of the nurses are really sweet and try to help as they can. But most of the ER doctors are inconsiderate and seem like they are trying to get you out there face quick, and not actually helping you. Because of them I still have an infection that they was suppose to have gave me proper treatment for a month ago, but I still have it an some other problems and they can care less. Wish I could go to a different hospital cause this one needs help, wish I could give zero stars.

Over this past weekend (Columbus Day weekend) I was at the hospital a total of 3 times. Intake for pregnancy on Friday which I told them something didn t feel right but they wouldn t check for another few weeks because I was only 10 weeks. Saturday I went in because of spotting cramping and some clots. They checked my cervix and noticed tissue. No heart beat on the ultrasound and they said I was only measuring at 6 weeks but that s all they said before sending me home. I started bleeding heavy on Sunday and decided to wait til Monday morning. Got there and waited hours to be seen just for them not to even check my cervix just tell me my hcg dropped 600 since Saturday but it s not a big deal. I went home trusting them despite how much pain I was in and how much I was bleeding. Woke up at 0300 today (2018/10/09) to palm sized blood clots and a wide open cervix. The er said ob would do a night visit for me since I was in the er twice this weekend and can t make it in til after 1700 the next week and a half. I asked ob and she said she doesn t know why I was told that. This hospital has been one of the worst I ve ever been to. So unprofessional and they don t know how to do their jobs. I had some good service while I was there by a nurse and a medic who drew blood but other than them this hospital has Been nothing but a night mare.

When it comes to the hard stuff Womack gets it right. I just had spine surgery under the care of Dr Cleveland. He is one of five in the Army and did a great job. I had a discectomy and treatment with Nu Cell (amniotic cell therapy) that you generally won't get anywhere else. Not only that but after care has been great. I stayed a few days and the staff was mostly very attentive lieutenant RNs. They even called me the day after I got home to make sure I felt well. Clean and timely all the way through. I couldn't ask for more thank you Womack!

I have been seeing Dr Huh for a broken foot. The care she gave me was exemplary! She is a wonderful, caring, person! All the way from the ladies at check-in, to x-ray and the cast room, everyone was extremely friendly while maintaining their professionalism! I left a civilian practice I had been going to for 20 years to go to Womack. The civilian practice had become lackadaisical in their care and my foot had not been healing properly and the cast they put on was way too big.
Womack Orthopedics fixed it by recasting properly and keeping a watch on it so I did not have to have surgery. I was very blessed to be able to go to this wonderful clinic!!

Overall very good. While yes the waits can be long they do notify you when you walk in and take a number to be seen. Just like when I went in for abdominal pain, they explained to everyone in the waiting room that it is going to be hectic and a wait do to incoming injuries from a jump accident. To me OUR SOLDIERS COME FIRST no matter what. From the time I was triaged to the time I seen a doctor and had tests done in total I was there 7 hours. The nurse staff and doctor kept apologizing for the long wait but they were amazing. I personally would recommend going here. It is the Army so the saying Hurry up and wait rings true here.

I just recently had spine surgery on 13 August 2019 with Dr. Andrew Cleveland. Let me tell you, the decision to have surgery didn t come easy for me. I was very reluctant and even contemplated having the procedure at a different military facility. I m glad I didn t! I would first like to thank Dr. Cleveland s personal nurse Rachel that helped me when he was away. I recently suffered a change in my condition and she explained to me that Dr. Cleveland was out of the office, but she would reach out to him for guidance. She called me back almost immediately requesting some follow-on testing. Two days after the testing, Dr. Cleveland contacted me and told me I required surgery. Dr. Cleveland s bedside manner far exceeded my expectations. It also changed my perception about some not so pleasant encounters at Womack by other providers. I appreciate his attention to detail and explaining the surgical procedure thoroughly to me as well as providing me with facts about what may await me in the future. Dr. Cleveland and his surgical team members ROCK!!!! Seriously, you guys are the best. I may not remember much, but from what I can remember you tried your best to meet all of my request. My sincere gratitude goes out to the entire Womack team that took care of me during my surgery and hospital stay (PAU, Pre-op, OR, PACU, and 2N). Everyone was very professional and caring. It is hard to explain the feeling of being relatively pain free when you have suffered from pain for so long, but that s what I feel. It s like a breath of fresh air!. If you have to have spine surgery at WAMC, Dr. Andrew Cleveland is your man. I can t promise you the same surgical results, but I can guarantee you that the care he provides his patients ranks up there with the best!

I had a cervical disc replacement surgery yesterday performed by doctor Andrew Cleveland. I had been living with complete arm numbness and pain for the last six months. One day I had the pain and after the surgery the pain and numbness was immediately gone. Dr. Cleveland and the nursing staff did a phenomenal job taking care of me throughout the whole process. I ll be honest, I almost asked for a referral to Duke until I talked to my friend who had the same surgery completed by Dr. Cleveland and he also had very positive results. The perception that Army doctors provide average to mediocre care is simply not true based on my experience. I would recommend even my family members to be seen here.

This is the only hospital I know that that waits and waits to get sh* done. I sprained my ankle 2 months ago and it's still swollen and bruised, and all doctors tell me I have two possible ruptures of the ligament with a possible tearing of the muscle...they have yet to get an MRI to see if it's going to need surgery. They put me in a hard cast, and when I went to go get it taken off, they just put me in another one. To me they are just adding to the problem.

Been here now for 5 hours and let me jyst say this is THE MOST unprofessional hospital for a military army hospital! I have a 2 year old and he was severely sick and while we were waiting for his doctor,.....the nurses were laughing and just talking and flirting with the doctors! Not to mention there was a nurse who had a huge hickie on her neck! Not only is that unprofessional and disgusting looking but she was cussing and being extremely loud. The doctor we were waiting for was sitting around and laughing and had a smirk on his face when he came in just because I was mad! I'm not sure why some people think it's ok to be rude and disrespectful but it's not ok. What happened to "TAKING care of soldiers and their families?"

Very uncaring. You could literally be dying and they wouldn't save you in time. I was having a miscarriage and they had me sit in the waiting room for 3 hours until I got in a room just to sit and wait for another 2 hours. They did nothing to try and help or save the baby.

Doctor Cleveland just performed an anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) on my L5-S1. I have to say it was amazing how my back actually feels significantly better and its only been one day! My cut hurts really bad atm but as we all know, cuts are easy to heal with time and care.

Doctor Cleveland and is team is incredibly professional and passonate about their work. Throughout the entire process, from initial diagnosis to post op I was very well informed and I felt the utmost sincerity in their care for me. I absolutely trust this team. Ms. Rachel, thank you with putting up with all my calls and for being so funny! I truly appreciate you.

This is long overdue but, I had a wonderful experience with Labor and Delivery here. We PCS'd when I was 8 months pregnant so it was a little crazy getting into a new place so late in the game, but they did a wonderful job! The nurses were incredibly kind, I was treated so well and even with some complications they made sure my baby boy was super taken of. The specialists checked up on him and made sure to take the time to explain and express everything that was going on and just all around showed that they cared. I was nervous as this was my first time, but they put me at ease. Thank you all so much <3

The lady is urology was very rude. I was there for a test, and my appointment was at 915. The front desk was taking care of a man, so I waited my turn. Well, as she calls my name she response rudely with Well, since you were late, we already prepped for this other man. I was not late, I was there when I was told to be there, but I can t help how long it take for them to help the person in front of me.

Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (ALIF) Dr. Clevel...

Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (ALIF) Dr. Cleveland Womack Army Medical Center May 2020

My procedure was well implemented after much deliberation. I was stationed on and off Ft. Bragg since 1996 and I have heard the horror stories of Womack surgeries. I had encountered major back issues after serving over 2 decades. I had multiple non-evasive procedures to correct the issues and nothing provided lasting relief. I received a referral to an orthopedic surgeon to discuss my options. Prior to the appointment I received updated x-rays to identify the problem areas. I met with Dr. Cleveland, he discussed my options and walked me though the x-rays, risks, and my factors. He said I am not forcing this on you. I want you to want the surgery . I elected to have the surgery rather than not. Due to the covid-19 pandemic I wasn t able to get the surgery until 2 months later. Everyone is different and I am still in recovery so no major changes yet. However, the Womack staff was great and Dr. Cleveland was top notch.

My experience with this hospital has for the most ...

My experience with this hospital has for the most part been nothing but bothersome. When I had broken my foot they put me in a temporary splint that was supposed to only be on for a few days however they did not schedule me for podiatry until TWO WEEKS after they said that they would. When my best friend had went due to stomach issues with his lymph nodes and severe dehydration they not only made him wait several hours in agonizing pain but were unable to get him an IV for several hours despite the fact that any single one of the nurses should have been more than overqualified. The brunt of it is, if you re a soldier DO NOT go to an Army hospital, they re held to lax standards to the point where they would be held unaccountable even if they killed you, and they do not perform to the standard that privatized health care can offer. If I could give less than one star I would.

I delivered my daughter here, my husband is active...

I delivered my daughter here, my husband is active duty and I am a veteran.

My experience with OB was wonderful (5 stars) Mrs. Davis is an amazing person! She is the manager of OB.
Dr. Pagan and Dr. Thompson are absolutely amazing!! I can't say enough fantastic things about them and all the staff in OB!

Labor and Delivery was fantastic (5 stars) making everything run smoothly and making my husband and I comfortable with everything that was going on! My nurse was Rhonda- she is the most caring person I have ever met in the medical/ nursing community! My husband and I loved her!!

Mother baby unit on the other hand is absolutely horrible! If I could give 0 stars I would! With the exception of one nurse I came into contact with... the Dr's don't care about how much pain you are in! All they will give you is Motrin and Tylenol regardless of pain level! My hip had been dislocated from my leg. The doctor came in, and told me there's no reason for me to be in that much pain after a vaginal delivery with an epidural. Then called me a liar about my pain level before realizing what had happened and putting my leg back into socket. She then apologized to me because she "didn't know that had happened" during my delivery! Not once did she apologize for the way she was speaking to me or my husband! Nor did she seem like she cared!! She then gave me 1 pain pill and said "that should do!" FYI: If you ask for something stronger because you really need it, because you are unable to walk... the nurses will tell the Dr. that you have drug seeking behavior and call in a psych doctor in to evaluate you!! Lol- The nurses on that floor that I had were so insensitive to people's circumstances!!! They also kept us in the hospital an extra 24 hours because of all the BS! I had a full bird colonel come into my room and apologize to me personally for the way I had been treated. But nothing changed after she left my room... the charge nurse was awful and had a horrible attitude when my husband asked her a simple question. Oh and you're going to be held prisoner in that unit as long as you are there!!! You are not allowed to leave until you are discharged- this goes for the mother and baby only- your significant other can come and go as they please. I would love to divulge the whole story but that would take too long. Needless to say, The mother baby unit staff needs more training!!!

Just go to Cape Fear and have your baby there! I wish I had...

Hope this helps some of you...

5 stars guys???? Really?? This place is horrible. My wife was having complications early on in her pregnancy, so I told her to go to the ER. 4 hours later, she calls me and says they have not even seen her yet. Unacceptable!! We went to Sanford ER after we left Womack and was seen within 15 minutes. After we had the baby she had complications breathing. We called to make an appointment and was told " we're booked" and they hung up. My daughter was scheduled to have her 2 month shots and they called me and said they had to reschedule because the doctor said it was an inconvenience, So we were not able to get her in to have her 2 month shots until she was a little over 4 months old. I have contemplated MANY times switching to Tricare Standard just so I don't have to deal with these people.

L5-S1 left decompression discectomy
Lumbar or thoracic posterior micodiscectomy

Dr. Cleveland did a wonderful job on my surgery. I would recommend to anyone that s having problems with bulging disc lower back and sciatic nerve pain. I ve been experiencing this since end of November 2018. I kept going to see my primary provider after x-rays nothing shown, months physical therapy temporary solution to the problem, finally the physical therapist put me in for a MRI and after the results I was referred to Dr. Cleveland s office. Awesome staff (Rachel his nurse). Dr. Cleveland explained everything that was going on with my lover back and referred me to pain management of course, the epidural didn t help at all. I am so glad that I decided to move forward with the surgery. No pain since the surgery just soreness in my back but that s to be expected afterwards. Highly recommends this surgery by Dr. Cleveland at WOMACK. He s well attentive and make sure you are taken care and made sure my spouse fully understood everything.

I ve heard horror stories about Womack, and I was kind if doubtful at first, but to my surprise my experience at Womack was very pleasant. Dr. Cleveland performed surgery on my spine. He was very professional, and thorough with his explanation of the procedure. Post-op, he came to check on me twice a day to see how I was doing, and to answer any questions I may have had. The nursing staff during my stay was amazing, they were very friendly, and they were very attentive to my needs. Everything they did was quick, and done in a timely matter. I really was pleased and impressed with my time at Womack. They did a great job with my care.

Waited hours beyond appointment time for outpatient surgery. Waiting room had multiple people on phones playing videos on speaker. I asked if there was another waiting area with no suggestion. I asked if there was a policy where the could ask them to turn down phones and she said no. When did society become so rude and when did office personel lose relinquish the power to write and enforce courtesy policies without fear of upsetting someone?

Horrible.
Sent over from Urgent Care and still waited 2 hours in main lobby, then 3 hours in 2nd lobby and now I'm on a room with only one PA saying I might get a CT..... I didn't wait 6 hours to be told its nothing. Then again thats the usual for this place. Unknowledgable doctors who refuse to listen to you or treat you like a real person. You're just a number here. Be ready to be perscribed water and naproxen .....then run away to another ER.

I believe that WAMC is a wonderful facility to have any procedure done. Two of my three children were there and I had a surgical procedure done there as well. Each time the medical staff provided excellent care during my overnight stays and always made me feel as though my health was their ultimate concern. Dr. Serra in the ENT clinic is an excellent surgeon. If she's your surgeon, you're certain to have a wonderful recovery. The staff at the front desks of some of the clinics could stand to work on their customer service skills, but the doctors and nurses, in my experience, have all been amazing!

Er visit was horrible. Took 7 hrs to be seen and wasn't crowded. I came in with my dad, whose doctor had called in to inform of him coming. I'm not even going to talk about how they called his name 4 times before we got to the back, which was empty. 3 hrs later before we got a room. On to the next day. Dr. Alcover refused to sign my FMLA papers. Why? Because she set up for VA transportation that wouldn't be available until after Nov, when he needs to be seen this Fri... Sept. Then had the nerve to say "The plot thickens" when I explained to her I drove down from the midwest to help with his care. 14hr drive! The family has to find transportation, yes that's right, because Dr. Alcover refused to sign my papers and I have to drive back home for work. She is a terrible human. Amy, the case manager was nice, and all the nurses on 200 hall. But the experience overall was terrible. Have to treat vets and family better Dr. Alcover. Do better

Avoid this place if you can. 6 hour ER wait for service member, 12 hours before command notification, staff that is more concerned with ordering lunch than helping patients, staff that dodged work calls to play on their phones, losing patients personal items, losing their medication...who manages this place!?!? I've been treated rudely and as if I'm an inconvenience here which is a shame because you'd think hospital staff would be kind and caring. I'm not the patient, but as a First Sergeant it angers me to see my folks receive substandard care.

I lived on Fort Bragg during my stint in the Army, and my first son was born here. He had trouble breathing and coughed a lot, so we took him to the hospital to be seen once or twice a week, and we always got sent home with a pat on the head and were told we were being overly cautious and had nothing to worry about. He died at only a month old and we still haven't gotten any answers over seven years later. These people leaving five star reviews for their baby visit never had a sick child, so never had to watch them suffer needlessly because they were being neglected medically by the Womack AMC staff.
