this is a review for the food service at the Wolf Creek Inn. now, i understand that times are tough, and establishments want to trim costs.
but, there are certain reasonable standards of proportionality that come w/ paying out $30 for a two-person lunch w/ soft drinks.
so what would you think if my order for a French Dip sandwich that CAME ON A HOT DOG BUN ? i've never seen such a small "sandwich". it was more like an hors-d'oeuvres than a meal. it would have been embarrassing to have ordered more, as this was clearly not a full meal. even the fries were more plentiful than this lacking sandwich. ! i won't return.

The staff was very friendly. It felt like visiting family even though I'd never been. Walking around the area was nice as there was a park and a lot of areas to explore. The room was very cozy and they had Wi-Fi so we could watch movies on my laptop. The best blanket ever was in the beds as well. Very comfy. Will be back
Limited menu during Winter, but what they have is reasonably priced and high quality. I had an excellent pulled pork sandwich and my wife had a vegetable panini. Both were great. The historic atmosphere makes for a memorable experience.
136 year old hotel that still has rooms and a saloon/restaurant. Jack London and his wife slept here. Was considered a refined inn 100 years ago. I haven't eaten here yet, but the breakfast menu looks tempting for the morning.
The staff is welcoming and so easy to befriend! It is such a relaxing atmosphere- easy going all around. The beds are so comfortable! The food is made from scratch and amazing, I've been there twice in 4 weeks! Thanks for putting up with us!
We showed up at 6am and a gentleman answered the Hotel. It was completely booked and it was dumping snow. He said he ll make something work and went and pulled a roll out bed and put us in the ball room. Was it comfy on a twin mattress with 2 adult? No, but who would take in 2 more adults at such an odd time with a full hotel? I couldn t name any. Absolutely thankful to say the least. Thank you so much again!
Very nice staff. Invited in to just walk around and look at the historic rooms. We decided to stay for lunch. The BBQ pork ribs were very good. All Oregon beers on tap and in the bottle. Great stuff would go back again.
I wish I could give this place negative stars except for the man who was polite enough to help us when we banged on the door. We booked the room at about 4 pm Saturday the 28th of July 2018 and we were told the combo for the box that our key was supposed to be in. When we got there we used the code and there was no key, we were not able to stay in the room we paid over 100 for. After banging on the door for over 20 min a nice man came to try and help us but to no avail. It is 1 am and we now have over a 3 hour drive to get home. I was very excited to stay in this place but I will let everyone I know to steer clear of this terrible place. The man who helped us deserves a raise but the rest of the place shouldn t be run as a business.
I have not stayed, but would very much love to some day. I am watching Ghost Adventures right now about an investigation they have done there. Very interesting... I would love to see and hear more about some of the things that happen here.
Quaint and quirky hotel with kind and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay although our sleep was interrupted from the noisy general store across the street and the truck stop next door. The food was generously portioned and the local selection of wines quite nice.
We traveled all the way from Vancouver, Canada to see this place and stay here. This place should be 5 stars no idea why it's not. We stayed in the Clark Gable suite it's so beautiful, everything just like it was back in the day. I must note the chair in the corner of the room is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in lol. My wife and I also had dinner here and the food was delicious, we both got the steaks and they were done perfect. We also just had breakfast and didn't go with the included continental breakfast, we had the waffles with bacon and eggs. The breakfast was really good as well. The service at this place is really good. We highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to travel back in time. Kudos to the cooks and staff you guys run an amazing place. We will be back for sure. Thank you.
I didn't appreciate the accusation from a paranormal investigator that we stolen the room that I booked, even with a printed validation in my hands. We found the room was great and cozy. As for the paranormal experience, all we can hear is the investigator walking, talking, and slamming doors. I have nothing against investigators, but they should not be an exception to the rules of the Inn. We don't think we will return to Wolf Creek Inn because of the booking issues. There is a little more issues with the investigator than stated.
Very interesting historic inn closed for renovations when we stopped but nice break from the freeway and beautiful architectural and a few historical displays out front.
We stayed for one night and had dinner and breakfast at the inn. It was a great experience. The food tasted great. We also enjoyed the historic room which was nicely decorated.
This review is a few months overdue, but I had to share! This place was God sent. My husband and I were on our way to Portland and we had been having a lot of trouble with our car. We finally realized that we had blown a head gasket and it wouldn't be safe to continue driving, especially because it was 10 pm. The closest town to us was Wolf Creek, which we had never heard of, but were excited because they had an inn we could stay at!
When we pulled up to the inn, everything was locked and we realized it wasn t your average hotel. This strongly resembled a B&B. We called the number it suggested to book a room but we got the answering machine. My husband also tried ringing the doorbell, but nothing.
As we were giving up hope, a woman came around the corner and asked us what happened, we explained it all and she immediately said, "yes, let me see what I can do!"
Within 30 minutes we were checked in with a discount because we checked in so late and a bottle of wine because it was our anniversary.
I never got her name (we were exhausted and it was late), but I'm pretty sure she was the manager and she was just what we needed. We are so incredibly thankful for what she did for us and for being so hospitable, she was our angel that night!
This hotel is a beautiful piece of Oregon s history and we re thankful that we stumbled upon it!
This has been the coolest and best Inn I've ever stayed at. I would without a doubt stay here whenever I'm in the area. The price is great for the level of service that you get. The place is beautiful. I'd recommend that if your in this area you should stay here before anywhere else. U won't be disappointed. Thank you for your Hospitality. We will be looking forward to coming and staying again.
Had breakfast here and it was phenomenal. Ordered the omelet with brisket and sausage and I dare say it was one of the best I've ever had. The servers were timely and friendly and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back again.
My kids and I evacuated from Medford area Tues evening, family out of state was able to book a room and Gessi was so helpful by texting, emailing and available for calling back and forth to help me check in after hours. The process they have set up for guests checking in themselves is top notch and very convenient. They were taking in evacuees from many places and extremely busy. The staff who came in every day were the sweetest gals! They were friendly, always willing to help and always smiling. The dinners in the restaurant were SO delicious! Homemade sauces, smoked meat, homemade potato salad, homemade ice cream, everything was perfect. The chef is a very skilled cook. On the last night we went to dinner before heading back to our home, my youngest kid just wanted some regular old comfort food....so chef made a grilled cheese, peeled an orange and made a ketchup smiley face on the corner of her plate...
Great place to go for safety, calming atmosphere, weekend getaway, relaxing weekend.
Staff are spectacular, have customer service skills mastered and are always friendly and inviting.
We really enjoyed our stay and the history of not just the hotel but the town as well. Bonus points, finding out that an Idahoan company took over the hotel.
This is an amazing place the staff is super friendly. And if you're into really old kind of throwback bedrooms and very historical places this is awesome bed and breakfast
This place is off the charts DELICIOUS* everything is like grandma was in the kitchen all day & grandpa smoked the meat perfectly!!! Someone Knows HOW 2 COOK HERE!! WE WILL RETURN!!!
Two wonderful amazing nights in the Clark Gable room The staff are very friendly and always willing to help whatever you need , was a wonderful trip , The beds are very comfortable I would definitely go back all around it was an amazing time there thank you God bless you and your staff .
I felt like I was in a movie or maybe dead. There was that eerie sense of surrealness Tuesday night. I was stopped with a line of other cars, trucks and 18-wheelers on I-5 for hours as snow fell to the ground. Later, navigating my car ever so slowly, I watched as others slid to the side and off the road, lights blinking blindly in odd directions. It took me an hour to get to the next exit only to get stuck on a hill at a creepy motel with only two cars and yet absolutely no vacancies. Shaking and panicked, I got back on the snow-filled highway and made my way to the next exit wondering if I was going to lose control of the car, wrecking or worse. Parking my car at the gas station, I was filled with relief when I was told I could sleep in the parking lot.
After someone's prompting (and directions) via text, even though online this inn reflected no vacancies, I walked over, seeing the closed sign: I called anyway. The innkeeper said she could see me on the front porch and that she had a room. Although I said I was happy to walk to get my belongings from the 76, she called for Andrew to get my car for me since I just didn't trust myself to drive even to the parking lot. For $81 including taxes and any dog fee, I got a beautiful room, hot dinner, wine, new friends and great conversation. I can't imagine it could have been more perfect. My dinner companions, also weary from the road, claimed to feel as I did - as if we were all meant to be there there night. Soon a man came in with his wife and child. A van full of millennials were served a plate piled high with decadent nachos as soon as they entered. I've never experienced a place like this and I was so very happy to be there. This may very well have been the most perfect accommodations experience I've ever had.
Cozy and ancient but clearly a state-run enterprise. Rooms and food are very basic. Breakfast service was extraordinarily slow (sitting for over an hour and no food yet).
Found a place that I can think of as a reference for a job and quiet peacful very nice to meet new people and they are all so very real and serious about the jobs
I ordered the Cobb Salad and it was very good. Jamie was our server and very sweet and knowledgeable. It was fun to look around the Inn after we ate. We plan to stay a night sometime in the future, as we had stayed there before the renovation and anxious to see the updates. Everyone was very friendly.
We were here to watch our friends perform some music and we absolutely loved our visit from beginning to end! The staff was very friendly and easy to talk to, our food and beverages were absolutely delicious! And the live music was wonderful! We will most definitely be back!
I stayed 2 different times the first time i was hearing foot steps next to where i was sleeping my son was asleep i was in bed then all the sudden i felt ice cold dont forget im under 3 blankets then i was like its my imagination so then the next time i go i was in the shower and i hear a voice of a little girl laughing my son was playing on the bed i got out and asked if he had tv on he said no it was just him and he said he saw a little girl and the girl was running like she wanted to play hide and seek i woul never ever ever go there again if you go you will regreat it i know you guys do t have tv but we brought our own portable dvd player
We loved this place. The staff is very nice, and the Inn very well kept and clean. The restaurant serves excellent food, the braised greens tasted fantastic, everything is homemade, even the tasty burger buns. Highly recommend if you like good food.
Great food and wonderful wonderful service. Cambria was a delight and she took good care of us. The halibut was delightful. And the homemade ice cream was delicious. Prices were exceptionally good.
Take a trip back in time. Spend the night with Jack London, John wane, Clark Gable, and many other famous people who stayed here on the 16 day wagon ride from San Francisco to Portland Oregon. The
I went in and tryed their pulled pork sliders. They were soo tasty. They came with two sauces. One was a mild creamy sauce I really enjoyed. I tasted the other one which was a dark spicy BBQ and I didn't care for it. The sliders were so good I will be back for more and there was allot so I shared with my brother. It was considered a starter plate!
It is not often that you can eat a great dinner in a hotel from the 1800's. We were served by a great "future teacher" Anna. Food was fantastic if you like real Texas Style BBQ.
