The Missouri Human Rights Act" Well was hoping to give a better review but after feeling discrimination from the hiring process for being honest about my health seems oh I know illegal but I only read up on the laws.. Customer service is crap tried to call Brea Pearson to figure out why the discrimination has occurred, sales department has me looping over to another department " tech department " when i asked for hr department. Weird thing is I have a interview later in the week same exact position for Spectrum. Long story short not very professional over the phone so I doubt customer service would be any better if allowed near my family. If needing reliable service just keep Spectrum

Worst ISP I've ever used in my entire life. Very ...

Worst ISP I've ever used in my entire life. Very unstable download and upload speeds. Just needed the router replaced and they blocked and banned me on Facebook and Twitter when asking for help. They purposely messed up the satellite to an unstable frequency. When downloading anything it goes like this; 2mbps, 5mbps, 8mbps, 1mbps, 4mbps in a never ending loop. Once we replaced the router our self it was stable at 14mbps, Wisper ISP then came to our house and purposely screwed it up and now you can't stream, if anyone watches anything on other computers you can't do anything because the speed ranges so erratically making it unstable. Its a true shame because before Wisper ISP took over the ISP was pretty good. Stay far, far away from this ISP they're pure evil!

Again once we found the issue was the router and Wisper ISP didn't want to help. We installed a new router fixing the issue. >> **They purposely messed up the satellite to an unstable frequency**

Because they hate their customers so much they do hateful things out of spite<<

In response to Wisper ISP:

Oh I'm the one that's vulgar eh?
How about your Facebook team that cussed me out then acted so rude to me? After I was treated like complete trash by Wisper ISP on Facebook I then messaged them back say "No wonder you got a virus". On Twitter I posted a picture of the download and upload speed at 0.64mbps download and upload both slower than 1.00mbps and I said "thanks a lot". I'm also not the only one Wisper ISP has treated like trash just look at the reviews on here. They're making a reputation for there self for being a horrible company!

Calling me vulgar when you people wouldn't even raise a finger to replace the router. Then coming to our house and messing with us like 13 year old kids: Purposely messed up the satellite to an unstable frequency after we had fixed the router and were good. I personally don't like being cussed out on facebook and called stupid by your Wisper ISP team. I didn't like that one bit and nothing I said or did was bad. You're an EVIL Company and you will probably end up going out of business with practices like these.

To all reading this DO NOT - I REPEAT DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR ANYTHING!!

They're not honest and they do not deserve to stay in business.

Wisper has been nothing but fantastic for us. We live in a rural area in Edwardsville, just outside of the reach of the "other guys" for internet...and they refuse to expand and include our neighborhood (even though they said they would be expanding to us years ago. I even offered to pay for the cost of extending their cables the 1/4 mile needed to get to our house, but they said no. Who does that?). Anyway, Wisper came into the area a few years ago and they've been fantastic! We have the 10mb down and 2mb up package, and we get as advertised speeds due to our proximity to the signal (we're very close to the transmitter). We can easily stream HD and do whatever we want online. The uptime has been very good. Rarely is it down...and if it does happen to go down, it isn't out long. And during the few times I've had to contact them, their support staff has been great. Before Wisper came into the area, the internet options were pretty bad. Slow speeds and inconsistent service at best. Thank you Wisper!

My internet hasn't worked for 2 months straight and Wisper has come to my house 5 times to try to fix it and they haven't accomplished jack squat. Horrible company that doesn't even know what they are doing. There's no excuse to why they haven't fixed my internet connection for 2 months. This is by far the worst ISP provider that I have ever used.

I have always had good service with wisper and over the years I have had to call them about things. They were always polite, understanding, and I am not very computer savy, they never sighed, left the phone to get someone else or made me feel stupid for not understanding the technical terms. They even called me once when they noticed I was not receiving a good connection and they had fixed it on their end and that I should be getting better reception. I never really noticed until it was fixed. I never have to complain like I hear charter people complain. Thanks Wisper

Overall: Customer support is friendly, but not responsive, Tier 1 is limited, tier2+ is busy.... Internet is mostly stable and usable.

Routine packet loss, routine internet drops. Times when very hard to get a hold of someone. Takes forever to get calls or emails back or acknowledged at all. My last ticket took 3 weeks after the "fix" was supposed to be done before I got a response (not fixed). After repeated VM's & emails and no response, I engaged them on Facebook, and their social media person was going to check on it (week & a half later I got that call back...). Ignoring calls & emails for status (and continued problems). They seemingly ignore any input given (such as specific nodes giving problems) and concentrate on the local tower/router. I've even helped them find routing problems (over backup circuits)....right now it's been 48 hours since I was supposed to get a call back from an escalated ticket for getting a new router setup (allowing inbound access and a public IP). 15-minute waiting time on phone, even when nothing is going on. Voicemails are pretty much ignored, emails depend on the day/topic.

Their Facebook seems positive and engaging, I wish the support followed that example. Lots of the Tier 1 (T1) folks are nice and understanding, just limited in what they can do, almost everything is escalated. T1 is very limited on capability, and probably should be allowed to do more. Waiting for escalated calls, don't hold your breathe.

As to the internet itself, when it works it s just fine, no complaints, and I would even recommend it. For the most part storms do not impact it. Great option for remote/isolated areas, but when there's problems it s frustrating as hell. As with any operational issue when there is a problem, it needs troubleshot right then, not 2-3-5 days later. Everyone I've talked to others who have Wisper in other areas, and they complain about the same things, intermittent outages/packet loss (for me mainly between noon-7pm) and getting a hold of customer service. That being said, it is better than most of the alternatives.

With their 10 MB package ($59.99) (little pricey I think for the throughput, for example "others" offers 100MB for $49.99) I work from home and have 2 children who go to school remote and it supports the throughput with video just fine. There are as I mentioned "hickups" where the internet drops a few times, or major lag/spikes/packet drops, but for the most part works. A friend of mine with the 5 MB package (I think like ~$45), notices performance issues when doing just one video meeting. But again, still great for isolated areas or people with limited options.

Initial setup/technician was awesome, made sure I was pointed to the best tower, very social, even sent me pics of where the tower was (literally can see it from my front porch).

Major issue to fix is WARNING/scheduling customers of upcoming downtime... should be easy to know what customers are off of which tower and notify them of maintenance . Not cool to be in meetings/school and have internet drop, then call and they just say oh we know we are doing maintenance.

Whisper has an excellent track record as a internet provider for keeping me up and running no matter the day and time, nor what the weather is doing. I have used them since summer of 2016, and they absolutely have impressed me with their ability to get and keep me connected. They have improved speed since they have moved here to Joplin, MO. Vast improvement over DSL, and satellite internet.

I pay for this service every month. Comes directly out of my account. I have tried to contact them for three days. After being on hold for 5 or more minutes with no answer I'm sent to a voice-mail service. We have clear weather and my service has been down for 4 days now. I'm furious at this point!

If I could do less than 1 star, I would. The service goes out regularly and they are now saying it will be over a week until they can even get anyone out to make the needed repair, for the latest outage. Their service itself is dismissal; and their customer service even worse.

Absolutely the best company ive had had to deal with PERIOD! Friendly, knowlegable staff! High speed Internet access and im able to stream to at least 6-7 devices all at the same time with no problems! And being a single mother, sometimes bills don't get paid on time and they have always worked with me to keep my service on above and beyond what any other company ever has! And i live in a tiny historic town and they are by far the best part of it! I only wish i could've rated them 10 stars!

After being loyal customers for over 15 years I'm ...

After being loyal customers for over 15 years I'm looking for a change. Speeds have dropped, customer service is now out of Joplin, Mo., the only thing they say now is "talk to the modem/router mfg", unless you want to pay for the new monthly service plan.

Alex left a message he'd made changes to the radio that should help. Since then the access has been excellent. If the service continues I'll consider changing my review, kudos to the owner for monitoring the Google reviews. I question why the radio changes couldn't have been made when I asked tech support for help earlier.

Had an issue not long ago with the internet dropping off, called tech support. They noticed it'd been many years since my last service call, so scheduled one. Tech showed up, swappe3d out by dish, back on line with great signal strength. This is more like the Wisper I was used to years ago. Keep up the good work!! I'm upgraded my rating as a result the recent excellent customer service. I see possibly 5 stars in the future.

July 2 2018
Lightning storms took out the new router less than a week old which replaced the previous new router burned out by lightning. Wisper's service plan is starting to look pretty good to me. Meanwhile I put the old trusty Netgear temporarily back in service and tech support authorizes it. I decided to change the default password because I've heard it's best to do so but I screw it up and now nothing works. I call tech support for and am told by the same tech who prompted my first negative post (Daxxd) that he can't help me because that's why Wisper has the service plan. I call back and get one of favorite techs (Tony) who says I simply need to open a web page to start the router. Go figure.

July 17 2019
We've been dealing with Wisper's "temporary tower" for far too long. I was content as long as the speeds I pay for were available, but no longer. We pay for 10 down and 2.5 up but have getting maybe 3 down and .05 to 1 up if there are no clouds in the sky and no wind. Just had a service call, the tech says nothing can be done, I'll give it another week at best. In the meantime it's time to look for an alternate solution. Hughestnet is advertising no hard data cap? I'll be checking it out. Worst case is Scream although I don't like the idea of giving the owner more than spit in a bucket.

May 19 2019
Still dealing with the temporary tower, I've been told multiple reasons why the new tower is on hold depending on who answers the tech support call. Another tech service call on the 11th who says the real problem is that the temp tower only has a 3 mile circular range and we're 3.5 miles out. Looks like as long as customers keep paying Wisper will keep the cheap tower. I couldn't be more disappointed.

When the service works, which is most of the time, it is great. It's just when it is down that I get frustrated. They seem understaffed to deal with their custers in a timely matter. I know they are trying their best.

I switched over from a paper invoice to receiving an email invoice early this morning. I received confirmation a few hours later. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the process was. A big shout out goes out to Christine, for the transition. I have been a Wisper customer for a number of years. Keep up the good work.

We have been wisper customs for years, about 5 years ago we upgraded from 20 to 25 Mbps @ a cost of $115/month our speed keep getting worse & worse and for the last year we were told it was because everyone staying home because of Covid 19. So after complaining about speed for at less two years I solved the problem I switch to frontier telephone line and my speeds went from Wisper 6 for high to mostly 2 to 0.2 after school till 10pm, frontier speeds @ 9Mbps low to 15+ Mbps for $47/ month. Wisper keep trying to say it was my equipment? (RIGHT??)

I've had Wisper for years. Not happy! My internet has went down 4 times in the past week & goes out weekly. They finally sent out a Tech, but when he arrived he said there wasn't a lot he could do since my internet came back up before he got here. Tech said he updated my software, but it made my connection worse. I work from home so every minute I'm down, I don't get paid. My equipment is old & I'm very unsatisfied. It seems like they don't care. Called Customer Service, have to leave a message & they won't call back till they think your system is back up & running.

My internet has literally gone out 20 times TODAY, and shows no signs of getting better.
Seriously, even on a great day the internet is painfully mediocre at best.

Update: Internet has been out for 3 days now. Supposedly its theres like 5 towers down, but it seems like these guys arent in a hurry to get them fixed.
Update 2: I'm literally about to shoot myself in the head because of the internet

Update 3 June 2/2020.: My internet has beem out for 4 days in olmsted, but according to you guys there arent any outages? Goes to show how much you guys care. Especially after I called on behalf of my parents and the person on the phone said he wishes I would shut up already.

When it works, it s great, but I am so angry that it is down so often. Not only am I paying for this service when it s out, but also for Amazon Prime Video, Disney, Hulu and Netflix that I cannot use. Makes it really hard to work from home too. Currently down since last night and of course when I call - we are currently closed. If my availability keeps getting disrupted this often I am going to have to find something else.

READ BEFORE DECIDING!! I feel as if we were fooled with decent service at first and it getting worse as time went on. This company is NOT very reliable at all as there is almost daily a problem where the connection is completely lost for a while. We had to invest $250 just for them to install a tower outside our home as we cannot get charter or other services out of town. (On top of $39.99/month for speeds literally over 30 times slower than charter which is $30/month for internet.) I found out during school just how pathetic download speed is for Wisper, an example is my friend and I downloaded the same exact file at the same time, which took him about 35 minutes and took me over 3 hours with Wisper! Not to mention there is almost daily spurts of down time and lately (about a month now) it's so terrible I can't even watch a short YouTube video in LOW quality without it stopping to load many times. If there is ANY other options for you, I suggest you try them first

Very bad service. Not far from town and it goes out at least once a week. There is a problem on there end with hardwear on their tower but they won t fix. They are aware of situation but was told it was expensive to fix!!!!8 months later ...We get different tech support guys that have no clue of situation ,so it s like starting all over and explaining situation again and again. Any other business ran like this would go belly up, but for some of us who cable won t install under railroad tracks....even though 100 ft from our house is excruciating!!!!You can t get through to them and once you do service is a -10 out of 10 on getting their end fixed. All other competitors have 24 hour service and help. This company Should have tech service avail 24hrs. Call back business hrs. ....a weekly reminder we can t get cable. Just know Internet goes out after business hours to our area!!! Our neighbors all have mentioned same issue but use cell phones to browse so they aren t as concerned. This is a monopoly and can get away with charging $60 a month with horrible service. Just warning it s fine for people who are internet surfers but anything else such as video games, Netflix and having to be one it all the time for business a real issue....

Have used their service for about 3 months now and I have worked in technology for 7 years, so I understand there is always going to be issues. When we first started using their service, it worked pretty flawlessly letting me stream movies, play games online, and use basic internet features. After about 1 1/2 months, the service started to become very unreliable. Now, I find myself resetting the router 2-3 times a night in some cases and the speeds become questionable at very random times. I am not satisfied at all because my entertainment is 100% based on connectivity, as well as being able to allow my children to watch their favorite movies and TV shows. If I wasn't in a monopolized market for actual hard wired internet, I would have cancelled the service by now. Really need these issues fixed or you can bet more and more customers are going to leave and pay more for a service that is reliable!!!

I've never had as much trouble with my router/wifi until this past week (because of a storm.) Luckily these people took several emails worth and 45 minutes of their time (after hours as well) to personally help me with every step. My review is centered around a new install and the conversation with Wisper Net for set up and the install tech Rashard Glover. The call to Wisper Net for setup service answered all my questions and concerns and they switched me to tech support to answer more questions I had about the router and extenders since we have a larger home. The install tech Rashard Glover did a professional job and took great care to run cords and equipment in a fashion that was clean looking. He was very pleasant and it was obvious he had experience and was knowledgeable.
Our speed tests are running at the same spped as the package we purchased. So far so good. In our area we have very limited options, and the last satellite provider we had was unreliable with the speed running so slowly that we would go to the office to download documents.
We are looking forward to having decent access from Wisper Net.

consistently good service, great speeds across all devices [we have 4 devices that are simultaneously connected every day, all day] with very few interruptions--much fewer than the national companies. the infrequent service interruptions are promptly fixed by the competent and courteous tech support personnel who return calls and make sure you are up and running again [thanks Dustin]. i recommend this company to anyone who needs reliable internet service for a fair price.

Connection was slightly above average at best however, my biggest problem was the download speeds. If I am trying to download something and the highest speed I can get to is 5.7 Mb then that is not good at all.

Service was good for almost a year, recently had an outage and the response and customer service was slow. Our service went out on a Friday, tried several times to call and email finally someone called on Monday, of course "everything is good on our end, it must be your router", well I anticipated that response and had already tried a different router. A tech was scheduled showed up 2.5 hours late, had to replace the radio and apparently both my routers went bad. I offered to upgrade our service package by $15 a month if they would replace just 1 of the 2 routers. They credited me for the days of lost service, now stuck buying another router. This will be my 3rd one since being on Wisper, we had the same modem for 4 years before we switched. I will be looking for a alternate provider in our area.

OK, so i understand the nature of internet and the...

OK, so i understand the nature of internet and the hazards of getting said internet in my area. Having said that, i was told by their install tech that our site would yield extremely good connection due to signal strength he himself observed during the site survey. So i signed on. The service was fine for about 3 months, (i was like in the first 10 folks to get hooked in), after that when more people signed on and more and more dishes starting popping up around town, low and behold service dropped by at least 40%. Now, i have some experience in this field, and 2 decades of being a professional trouble shooter / problem solver. So it was a short walk to see that they (WISPER) had already reached the limits of the equipment they had installed to bring service to my area. After many, many, conversations with them, not the least of which was at the threat of legal action, we had a tech come and review our records of speed tests and performance issues, when the higher ups at Wisper, saw these files, i magically received an upgraded dish. This proved to be adequate for around 2-3 more years (not counting the numerable times we have lost service or experienced severe speed loss). We suffered through because they are the only game around for my usage needs. Now at this current time, i have sat here for almost 6 days with around 1/5 of what i am contracted for, 2 days spent attempting to call in and get assistance, over 7 hours of on the phone trouble shooting. (during which the tech shut down service to most if not all of the surrounding area, and my speeds were almost double........) strange coincidence huh? lol. and yet no better off than 6 days previous? Essentially i propose that they have "over sold" the area, and are unwilling to upgrade their tech to compensate. This idea of "best possible" speed and "up to" price contracting, while mostly legal is POOR BUSINESS. It is deceptive and greedy. I was actually looking to add another line (as i have many power users at my place) But that will be placed on indefinite hold after the last weeks facade. I am currently seeking legal advice and possible resolution and hopefully some punitive action. If i cant get at least basic reliable service, then i shall attempt to discourage or at least prevent others from getting in with these cheats. I also noticed an interview with the president of this outfit, and he said (in regards to reporting trouble /bad service practices to FCC) that he goes to church with his customers and they will tell him in person if he is doing a bad job...(paraphrased of course) HAHAHA ..... nice line man. Maybe instead of spending time with your "customers" at church you should take a trip into the world at large, where your company is doing a fantastic job of spiraling into the abyss as you have about the single worse reputation out here and on the internet of any other group in the area? Wonder why that is? something about promising something you have been unable to deliver reliably? In conclusion, this is my story and review, IF you cannot get internet any other way, use these guys, but be aware that you may not get anywhere near what you are being sold. Be wary if you are among the first in a area, it will start off good, but as they add more money to the coffers your service is bound to suffer, and don't expect a quick resolution to your woes. As stated elsewhere they have "deplorable" customer service. ( a company who offers 24 hour product with only 10-12 hours of support.) cause keeping techs handy cuts into those profits man!
Update to my review, so yes they did indeed contact me, and no i am still not satisfied, why? Because its been 6 days minimum since i last had "reliable" connection speeds, and now they claim there is damaged equipment on their end, that will take maybe 6-7 days to replace/repair...... anyone else see the problem here? Who else can get away with conducting business this way? Gratz you lost another star.
Update to this review, nearly a year later and guess what? .... SAME STORY! (If i could revoke the last star i would.) Terrible

Internet doesnt work half the time. Now i have problems with late fee when i clearly wrote the check for the 5th which shows on my bank statements and it was due the 8th. They supposedly didnt receive it til the 11th and didnt come out of my account until the 12th. Why should i pay a late fee when the internet doesnt work half the time and i wrote the check and mailed it out. When i called and asked them about it the lady i spoke to was rude and said that they cant help it if the post office doesnt get it out in time. What a joke

Internet speeds are NOT as advertised. I'm only a couple hundred yards from the tower and my receiver is about 40 ft in the air. You cannot do anything with it about 90% of the time and when there is a problem don't bother calling the tech department because nobody will ever answer. They claim to be there until 8 PM but I've sat on the phone for hours waiting for an answer and they never will. False advertising at its finest.

The Wisper installer that came out and put our wireless system in was fantastic. His name was Jamie, and he was very professional, courteous and answered all my questions and concerns. A Very nice person to talk with, and he installed my service, set up my Netgear router and made sure everything was working, and I was satisfied before he left. So far, Wisper seems to be a very good wireless internet provider.
