Very quiet and peaceful. Great location next to the golf course.
Very quiet and peaceful. Great location next to the golf course.
Very friendly staff at The Edge, but everything else was closed. Beautiful and seemed to have lots of potential, but it was a ghost town.
We stayed at one of the rental properties and had a great time. The shuttle is very convenient and all rooms were clean. Best experience staying overnight at a ski resort!
We were there to see their production of The Sound of Music. It was awesome.
The condo was dirty and to expensive golf course to expensive
Weather was horrible, conditions were rough, I broke my ankle. in the worst of times, the Wintergreen staff was professional courteous and helpful. I felt well taken care of.
I usually enjoy coming here anyway, I picked Wintergreen over other resorts that are the same distance or even a little closer. The variety of terrain and the ability to put different routes together is my favorite part.
There's even a few jumps to practice on. I didn't make it to the jumps this time, because my third run was my last run. Sucks. It's my fault, slow-speed turn, flailing around, not having warmed up properly, with non release bindings.
My only criticism is the mountain blog slope report is a little over-optimistic in my opinion, but overall I really enjoyed coming here. I'll be back when I heal.
Fun place for the family. It's pretty packed all the time in the restaurants. Not a lot for a toddler to do though.
Beautiful place, great tennis camp, nice accommodations, good service. Lovely landscaping, too.
Good variety of slopes and really streamlined rental and pass system.
Gorgeous views. Nice fall foliage. Cute 1BR condo in Highlands. Great amenities for guests as well.
Wintergreen is great, nice ski conditions, well run resort. Crowds can get heavy on Saturdays though
The staff were pleasant and efficient. Parking was a non-issue throughout the area. My specific location (Laurelwood) had approximately 10Mbps down and 1.5 Mbps up consistently throughout my stay. Wintergreen and condo owners have provided accurate information for everything else.
I go here all the time and it s always a good time!
Easy to get to. Had a great time. Breakfast buffet was great.
The accommodations were nice. The staff was very friendly, helpful and informed. The facilities we're well cared for. Dining was great. Plenty to do there Being lovers of warm weather, it's a great summer getaway for us!
What a great outdoor venue! Summertime chairlift ride was magnifico!
Went as part of the Wintergreen Music festival. Relaxing setting with lovely mountain views. Did not check out any restaurant options. Also did not stay in any accommodations there.
Nice, but expensive in off season with most resort restaurants closed or limited hours. Hot tubs (3) at pool area wonderful. Efficiency room nice with king bed in loft and kitchen. Views from resort and overlooks breathtaking. Go in session or for fall.
We visited family who rented a house here at Wintergreen Resort. We skied the first couple days and the service was great. The house was well maintained as well.
It was hard to say whether I enjoyed it or not due to the weather. You would think there would be snow in the last week of December, but mother nature decided it wasn't to be; 70 degrees is much better, right? They did try to offer other activities in it's place, however, such as zip lining. Unfortunately, nothing here really is that great, but the slopes look like they would be fun!
The scenery that envelops this resort is breathtaking. A true testament to the beauty of nature. This review must not take into considerations such factors, however, as I'd be forced to award it 5 stars. 10 stars!
I am noting the resort itself. And as far as resorts go, it is decent. I feel the fact that there's no similar resorts nearby makes Wintergreen believe they are more important than they actually are outside of the Virginia woods. See: some of the infrastructure, services offered, etc.
Checked in to a condo unit with dirty carpet, dirty utensils with hardened food sticked to them, dirty towels in bathroom cabinet, and lots of garbage under one bed. Closet in the room was full with "stuff" and can't use to hang clothes. Didn't get house keeping the next day after we checked in. Had to call the front desk to have someone to send us some fresh towels. Also, the slopes were muddy on one of the days we skied. It felt like skiing on muddy slopes than on snow. Very disappointed with the experience.
Great place to learn plus terrain to improve! Highlands is my favorite :-)
over all I was a nice place to go. just a few issue. first off its not for new new skiers. the only hill they have for people to "learn" on is for their ski school and that is 50+ dollar extra to do. second they dont have half day tickets till after 2pm.
Food is ok depending on which restaurant you choose. The on slopes restaurants are pretty awful.
Stunning location, friendly staff, AMAZING summer music festival in July, great spa & pools, nice restaurants, world class golf courses, tons of trails and activities. Heart of wine country & nearby historical locations. Love this place!!!
Visited Wintergreen Resort for a day skiing trip and had a blast. They had a decent number of runs and lifts open, and there was not wait times. Only thing we didn't like was that all of the lodge areas were seated and you couldn't bring in outside food. They had a small windless hallway with some plastic tables set up as a "brown bag" area that made you feel like a second class citizen.
Great Virginia snowboarding. 4 hours from everything. Easily make a day trip.
Awesome place had a great time service could be better at times but over all a great time
Wintergreen Resort summer review for 1 bedroom condo at Laurelwood Condos. First let me start by saying my wife and I have been coming to Wintergreen for some years now during the summer and have loved the rooms and the service we have gotten. This time around we got here and to room was not to our liken at all, which is a problem because of you not knowing how the room is going to look off there website(its the same photo for all the rooms). You kind off cross your fingers when you first open the door. The room we had smelled which bothering my wife and was giving her migraine headaches. So called the front desk to talk to the manger(8/10/2017) and he could have cared less how on unhappy we were with the room and our experience so fare at there resort. He did not even try to come up with any solution for us at all, beside saying sorry don't have any other rooms bye and hung up the phone. I will not be staying here ever again and would advise not staying at the Laurelwood Condos, they do not have a view of anything you minds well be staying at any condo off the mountain and the are very out dated and small. The service has been better in the past but I do not feel that they were very good this time around being in the hospitality business myself you do whatever you can for people even when have little to offer and they did nothing.
One more thing, we went to the Edge restaurant and would not advise eating there if you are a picky eater. The food was not good at all for what they charge and again it smelled of old carpet and dirty dishes.
Good skiing for the southeast. Could perhaps use a bit more rental staff during night ski. Would recommend.
Staff are very knowledgeable and were a ton of help making the process as smooth as possible. Good food too. Very well-kept property.
Very nice, large resort. Wifi. Lots of fun fitness and outdoor activities. Responsive staff.
Visted in April 2017. Nice location but definitely needs updating.
Wow! Beautiful resort with friendly staff and amazing rooms. I was so comfortable I almost didn't want to leave the room!! The amenities and snack bar were great for a quick grab.
Mountain is divided into three sections for three different levels of skiers. We've got a 1000 foot vertical of Black Diamond. FAST chairlifts. Attentive liftees at base and top.
Lots of fun! Not may trails open for skiing early season though
We stayed at a condo in Three Ridges and, even though it was August (definitely not skiing season), my family loved it. It's so quiet here and there's actually quite a bit to do. Highly recommended!
Condos were great, updated with pretty much everything you need. Housekeeping included. Zip line and Tubing were great summer activities and I can only imagine they are much better during the winter. Breakfast buffet was good. Dinner buffet was not. Overall loved the place and plan to come back in the winter.
We rented through Airbnb and the condo was great. Such a relaxing experience!
My 5 year old daughter and I love everything about the resort. She has learnt to snow ski and ice skate there. It's good quality time together as well as a learning experience. Mostly upper class people. The cost for everything is outrageous. The actual ski shop located inside the wintergreen hotel has a very snobby lady that works there. I would not suggest that anyone go to that ski supply store , unless you like being treated rudely. But all other stores are filled with nice employees.
Grew up here and worked a span of 10 years for Wintergreen Resort!
Too warm for snowboarding! Accommodations were great though?
Nice retreat in the mountains of Verginia. Beautiful golf course, large spa with big pools (indoor and outdoor) hot tubs and treatment rooms. A little ski resort in winter. Hikers can enjoy variety of hiking trails in the area with beautiful views from the view points on the top
Great from beginners to experts. Learned to snowboard thier still go to this day
Wonderful experience. You can learn how to ski and snowboard as well as get a nice meal. World-class customer service
I went skiing with my family. We took the introductory ski lesson with the Discover Skiing package that includes instruction. The instructors where knowledgeable and friendly, but there wasn't enough time for a new student to get comfortable on their skis. The rented gear was nice and worked without any issues. The slopes were well groomed too. I would recommend checking it out. If you have a new skier in your group, I recommend springing for a private lesson.
I've been here many times and for a "southern" ski resort they have plenty of trails!
Beautiful, remote location. Only problems were with calling the shuttles which ought to be better due to the spread-out nature of the resort.
The staff were very friendly. It was clean and we had a great time!
Christmas dinner buffet at The Copper Mine Restaurant at the Wintergreen Resort never disappoints. So many dishes, I couldn't try them all. The mushroom bisque was divine. This resort does a good job of manufacturing snow when mother nature doesn't cooperate and it's great for families.
We had such an amazing time! So peaceful and beautiful. I can't wait to return.
What a complete disaster. I understand with Covid there are lots of issues, but this was ridiculous. We were moved to 3 rooms in 24 hours trying to get in one that worked. First one no hot water and no working heating/air unit. So spent the night hot and had to take cold shower in the morning. Second one no functioning internet and phones not working. 3rd one was an "upgrade room" but we lost our mini kitchen so had no way to heat up foods, that we brought and planned to use over the weekend, and it had a unusual odor but we were done moving at that point. Poor communication with services impacted by Covid. No one at resort Inn knew golf cart rule of having to be in by 6pm, so they scheduled me late afternoon tee times, that when I got to course I could not finish round. Front desk staff WAS very nice and the only saving grace to the weekend.
This is the best ski resort ever, Great staff and you can tell the staff loves working here and it this is where I think everyone should go vacation .
Pleasant, clean, fun environment... helpful and friendly staff. The food is surprisingly good. Good intermediate facility for snow sports. They work hard to make the slopes the best they can with snowmaking, but much is weather dependant. They are exceptionally efficient at keeping the roads clear, even in blizzards and heavy snow fall.
Nice for spring, well marked hiking trails, great spa, gym, pool, tennis and golf. Plenty of breweries, wineries and distilleries nearby.
i go to the mountain and rent a condo and there always perfect for me and my family to stay and is always so much fun snowboarding down the runs could use a couple more but who cares its still the most fun i have every year 5 stars
Don't forget summertime. Still a great place to go.
Condo in excellent shape. Staff was very attentive. Scenery is great. Can't wait for ski season to start
