Were there only in the summer for a wedding reception in the evening. The food was so so. The reception was outside and it was very chilly at night. They were supposed to bring out some fire pits or heating lamps but never did. So some people left early because they were cold. The lodge seems nice and there may be some nice hiking trails in the area.

My family and I are exploring the ski resorts in Virginia and came across Wintergreen. We have a small child, which most resorts do not care to. While Wintergreen did not have a lot for her to do they did have a kids park with mini tubing and sleds which our toddler and eight year old both enjoyed. We will be back again when they are both old enough to ski/snowboard.

Very shocking slopes actually, this is my first season now that i only live 30 l mon away and going about 3 times a week. Despite warm weather they are very good at making snow. Very minimal ice during the day, but at night pay attention on the more advanced hulls there will be some ice spots. But on the beginner Hill like dobbie they keep that ice free.

Wintergreen comes off as wanting the public to visit!! But they snicker and are very, very rude when the "think" your not listening, Maybe..Just maybe this is why they have went broke?! People make a business, not the other way around. That being said it is a very beautiful place, clean and peaceful!!

The day we went the weather wasn't good (freezing rain) so the place was deserted. As such, there were no lines and everything was easy to access. I'm not sure how it would be during much busier times, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite the weather.

A bit pricier than going to a resort in NC but it is on the nicer side and is not further than Beech from Raleigh. Lift ticket line was crazy slow for the few amount of people in line, but the 8 hour ticket starts when you buy it and lasts 8.5 hours. The difficult part of the mountain does not have night skiing. The edge restaurant was nice as well.

We planned a group trip to go skiing for a long weekend. Booked a condo that was wonderful and the skiing was great. The weather was warm so the snow was a bit slushy, but that can't be controlled.

Ditch the snow and come for a visit on the off season! The views up here are gorgeous and a great escape from the city buzz or summer heat. Hikes, golfing, breweries, and wineries are close by, so you ll find something for everyone. Our vacation cabin had four stories with two hot tubs, and a golfing green just a stroll away. The drive up is steep and windy, so try to make it before dusk.

Went on a Sunday and didn't have to wait to long at the lifts. The slopes were in good condition given the warm weather. Lots of fun. Helps that there is a brewery at the base of the mountain too.
