Nice place for skiing one day, but waiting 20 minutes each time in line for lift can ruin all impression.
Nice place for skiing one day, but waiting 20 minutes each time in line for lift can ruin all impression.
Wonderful trip. Excellent family getaway, but not too far.
Small ski area
Regular guest service
Very nice during off season. Shuttles run very efficiently.
Location great, rooms a little out dated, service wounderful. Fire department response slow took 30min to get to lodge even though the fire station was 500 feet away.
Great food at the edge and a great time on the slopes
Stayed at a cabin here. Good hiking trails, wonderful views.
We loved the food at the Edge restaurant and overall the resort was maintained very well
Excellent ski resort with plenty of places to eat and shop! It can get crowded though, which can make things difficult for beginners.
Beautiful, hikes, cool air, Blue ridge Pkwy very close by
Skiing and tubing was great! Even though O can't ski
Check-in was quick and information was clearly posted.
My girlfriend and I came to Wintergreen for an overnight stay specifically to enjoy the spa services, and we both found it to be a wonderful experience. We fully intend to return for a longer stay to take advantage of all that the resort has to offer. Highly recommended.
Good resourt. Lift times were a bit too long due blue trails closed. Other than that we liked it all. My girlfriend did not like her instructor for beginners (ski, group)... I guess it is hit or miss. We definitely would come here again.
Heaven here, golf, tennis, workout room, swimming pools, hot tubs, sauna, steam room, spa, walking trails, zip line, indoor recreation center for kids, snow skiing and great restaurants too.
I had a great time just walking around the slop and the lobby. I have never skiied before so was very convenient yo find lesson in very short notice. My friend and I have out dinner in a resturant called the edge which was pretty nice and they have great vegetarian choices. Overall, it is a wonderful winter/ski getaway! You will not regret the experience!!
Only went up to snowboard for the day but overall the mountain was very well kept. Went on a weekday so there weren't to many people on the slopes which helped some of the newer members of our group.
Slopes were in decent condition considering about a foot of fresh snow had fallen the day prior. Not many lifts we're active, most of the intermediate and advanced slopes were closed. Didn't have a chance to shop or get food. The main commons area is currently under a remodel, so it'll be exciting to see what comes of it!
Not for the serious skier. Long lift lines, extremely short runs, and expensive tickets. The one 'double black' would be a blue *at best* at a decent mountain.
$80 for a lift ticket on a small east coast mountain is insane, especially if half the trails are 50% dirt. Recommend adjusting ticket prices based on snow. Trip was cut short because some punk stole my friends snowboard off the rack while we were eating lunch. Idiots running the resort had moved the ski racks so they weren't really in the security camera's field of view.
For what you are going to get skiing in Virginia it's pretty good. Graded on the Virginia curve but not bad
Pretty decent ski slopes, conditions were okay. Stayed at a house on Airbnb
Mountain and slopes are pretty nice but lift lines were long, unorganized and unprofessionally run. Seemed like we spent more time in the line for the lifts than actually riding. Overall had fun, just took time to figure out where to go
The views are incredible. You are so high up in the mountains and the air is very clean. We had a 2 br condo and it was very nice and clean. The room did have a slight moldy smell but I guess that might have been because of all of the wood and the semi rustic feel if the place. We will come back again next year.
Lots of great views and good restaurants/facilities.
Wintergreen Resort is not just for skiing! We have stayed in all seasons and always have a nice stay. Friendly desk personnel, good burgers at the Edge.
My Visit to Wintergreen was much better than I expected. I had seen on the slope reports an average of 28"s and then after I purchased my tickets online which I later found out were Non refundable or in Wintergreen terms Non-Transferable which is insanely maddening. I was happy to see that Wintergreen was working hard to produce more snow and keep a good base. It was far from perfect but it's been a warm winter so its expected for sure. All and all I was very unhappy forcing myself to go to bot waste the lift tickets it was not as unenjoyable as it seemed to be. All in all far from my most favorite trip but not my least.
Also a review on the New RFID cards, they work fine but I had to take mine out of my jacket everytime so the penetration of the scanners are not great but do work.
Spent the day snowboarding, had lots of fun. Ski Patrol was friendly when I injured my elbow. The Edge had great food with awesome service, but it's a little more expensive than I would prefer. I would still go back. Overall a wonderful experience.
Only went to the slopes. They're great and highly rated in the area! Would recommend for beginners and intermediate riders alike, and the freestyle terrain is great.
I was surprised by how big it was. The mountain is very well laid out with the beginner, intermediate and advanced areas separated. It was fun to explore each part of the mountain throughout the day. There were also many food options to choose from, I ended up getting a BBQ sandwich from a small shed in the middle of the mountain with some meaty Mac and cheese on the side. The conditions were decent which was about as good as you could expect with all the recent warm weather and barely any snow so they were blowing artificial snow all day which isn't a problem as long as you cover up properly. Customer service was on point. The staff was run by an exchange program so it was all a bunch of young people from other countries. They were all friendly and good at their job. All in all 10 out of 10 would ski again.
The hiking is wonderful here. So many great trails, and the A. T. Is nearby as well.
Great resort. Absolutely love this area. So much to do during any season.
My husband and I can here for a wounded warriors trip, by far one of the coolest little resorts in the area, such a fun experience. There is a restaurant that overlooks the mountain, try it out!
I've been coming here for nearly 20 years. Great local snowboarding mountain, they blow a lot of snow to try and keep the slopes open even during warm years. It's a great place to ride if you live close. Check out Locals Night on Thursdays, only $20 for a lift ticket.
Beautiful resort great scenery. But we had a mouse and got a trap from maintenance and caught it. Mouse droppings in silverware drawer. Floor dirty with mouse droppings. Great buffet breakfast in copper tavern. Friendly staff.
Interesting and beautiful resort, would love to ski there, but a heck of a drive from Okemo.
Nice resort, but I feel for the price we pay for a day lift pass the attendants would have been more helpful. It was snowing pretty hard the day I went, and most attendants will at least wipe/sweep off the chair lift as it comes around so you aren't sitting in snow on your ride up, not one attendant even bothered. All in all pretty nice resort, just a little on the expensive side.
I came up to ski with the adaptive program. I really loved all of the people. The snow was pretty good. My only complaint is that there is no learning area if you don't book lessons. My husband went to the learning are which I guess is for lessons only. He said hello to a staff member and was immediately kicked out.
Tons of amazing trails to choose from and great family friendly atmosphere.
Went skiing. Lots of fun, but I hurt my knee on my 2nd ride down
I visited the Wintergreen Nature Foundation. It was a ton of fun. Highly recommend it!!
Had fun. The parking situation was a little confusing
Make sure you have your camera ready!! Embraced by mother nature you will want to snap photos of the wildlife and the fauna.our condo looked out on the Devil's Knob golf course where we could see a hawk soaring. We enjoyed our homey accommodations with a fire in the evening watching our favorite shows on a flat screen tv. Both the Copper Mine and the Devil's Grill were fantastic for dinner; we had salmon, filet, trout and pork chops ....all cooked perfectly. The Edge Restaurant, overlooking ski slopes offered many good selections for lunch and breakfast. We gathered with friends and loved our weekend. The young (20 year olds) and old (84years old) had a wonderful weekend.
Beautiful scenery. Nice staff. Plenty of activities. A lot of local wineries, distilleries, and breweries.
We really enjoyed our stay at Wintergreen. The staff all where professional and courteous.
The lake was very nice as was the pool.
We stayed at the Mountain Inn and loved it.It was very clean and nicely decorated. Some services where closed due to Covid but we could tell that safety of their guest where a priority. We look forward to going back in the fall for snowtubing with our children.
Best skiing in this part of the country. Facilities are great although it does get very crowded. Good isn't so greatbut the staff are. We go back every year.
Wintergreen is a great local ski resort. If you are used to the big mountains, Vail, Tahoe, Mammoth or Park City, it is small. I love that it is accessible, it had lots of greens and blues for my kids who are just learning to board, and the price is moderate.
Great views, comfortable rooms, Coppermine Grill is the only good place to eat. Devils Grill is nice, but needs a better chef. Overall, a nice place
The drive up is steep, but once you're there, it's very pretty! Spa is great and tennis and fitness center are both A+.
I'm super impressed with the resort the pictures are of Eagle Swoop slope they make snow every night during the season and have a summer water park and top of the mountain golf course at 3800 feet up
Best resort in my area, they just constantly close at different times without proper signage where you buy tickets, resulting in people buying high dollar tickets and not realizing they are about to close in an hour.... Great slopes though
Great snow for the majority of it being artificial. Season pass holder for the last 5 years and more to come!
Stayed here for a weekend. Cabin was awesome, service was great. Prices for food and activities were hiked up (think theme park prices). Views of the mountains was partially the best part. Beautiful place. Very disconnected from the rest of the world.
I love coming get me while being stationed in Virginia with family and friends. Slopes for all ages.
Great time with a group of boarders and skiiers of different abilities. Something for everyone...
