I was at the Windsor Arms Hotel for high-tea with 2 friends. We were able to reserve a table in their tea room the morning of and were very pleased by the atmosphere and service. Nice selection of teas and array of foods (scones, tarts, croissants, desserts)
Came here for drinks with some coworkers after work. It was very quiet and intimate, perfect because everyone go could hear each other. The servers were also great. Drinks were reasonable for Yorkville.
Please save your money and go some where were they will be able to show you more respect and actully show that they are welcoming towards there guest who pay such a significant amount of money to spend time here . Stay away , if your planning for a fun weekend dont expect youll be getting that here. Save your money and go some where with a bit more respect.to the guest . Very rude and disrespectful people.
The afternoon tea does not worth its price (even the weekday price ). The desserts are not tasty, very generic. However, the service is awesome.
Had a great dinner here. Food was delicious and service was top notch.
Stale sandwiches, argumentative staff, empty dining room.
We were the only guests, our whole sitting. The room was empty and quiet. The sandwiches and assorted desserts are, according to the wait staff, made up and plated in the morning "fresh" but served after 4pm? The bread was stale, the fillings smelled and tasted weird. The tea itself was alright. When asked about the sandwiches the atteneding waitress was snippy and offered no solutions just sarcastic remarks.
For $55-60 a person, I expected more. I expected something.
Would not recommend. Wish I could give it a 0 star.
I ordered the afternoon tea to go, the regular package and I actually threw up. The pastries came in two pretty boxes but the savoury pastries looked and smelled revolting. They were smushed and mashed around in the box when I opened it. The tim's coffee and donut I bought for $3.50 to refresh my mouth afterward tasted a million times better than the overpriced rubbish they serve here. Disappointed, and will not be returning.
High too is over priced and poor quality food which are small portions. Customer service is poor overall for the hotel. The spa salt cave is the worst I have ever had. Staff are poorly trained and they put a water wall in the room which absorbs the salt. The hotel needs a serious face life as the decor is very outdated.
Very old place and restsurnat food is not worth the money
Terrible experience. Will never stay here or reccomend ever again
Beautiful hotel in the heart of old Toronto nice room's great views minutes to the subway and yorkville
WORST management ever award goes to the clown that own/"manages" this place. Have never stayed at a Motel 6, but I'd bet the service would be better then this Sh*t hole of a place. Don't spend your $ here, Toronto has many high end hotels that provide much better service and have cleaner, newer rooms.
I was there recently for my mother's birthday, and the two of us had the best afternoon tea we could have hoped for. Everything was perfect from the exceptionally nice staff to the tea and food. The scones, party sandwiches and desserts were delicious!! Everything was perfect for her birthday. I look forward to going back in the near future.
This place is not worth the ridiculous fee they charge you for high tea. When we first pulled up to valet park, there was no valet outside to take our car... we had to go inside and wander around to find someone before they came out. Not a huge deal, but if you're paying $30 for valet at a 5-star hotel you except them to be right there so you can just get out of your car and go inside. The valet was also rude to me like I had just interrupted whatever he was doing. We waited around 30 minutes to be seated for our tea, and we were all then squished around a table that should have been for 4 but there were 6 of us. Service was TERRIBLE - I had to ask for a menu and kept having to call over the servers because they would just disappear. My friend asked for coffee and when they brought it to her it was cold - not just room temperature but cold to the touch - it tasted like it had been made yesterday morning. I ordered a Daquiri which was really gross - for $16 it should be somewhat good and tasted NOTHING like a daquiri. The food was under-whelming and not very good at all - the fact that you don't have any choice is somewhat silly especially if there are things on the menu you know you won't like. Overall this is NOT worth the $45/person for afternoon tea... I'm not even sure I would spend $10 on it. Don't waste your money, go to the Shangri La instead - much nicer service, atmosphere, and food!
We had hosted a meeting here with some very influential people. When we arrived to set-up, the room was dirty, the bulbs in the chandelier were half burnt out, and the lamp shades were torn. Then ontop of everything the bathrooms were FILTHY. The man who we believe was the event manager for that day was in our room and was talking during our meeting and basically becoming the center of attention during our presentation to our guests. Our guests were less than thrilled because of how distracting he was, and yes they did express that to us. It was very unprofessional and embarassing to us as we have never had this happen before. We will not be returning.
Only plus was that the food was good.
1 star because 0 is not an option. Terrible service, extremely unorganized. Would not recommend.
The teas were super delicious, cakes and scones were cute and surprisingly filling! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Great place for a sophisticated outing :).
Overpriced for the rooms and the food. Service was very good.
Went for a work Christmas party, the ballroom is lovely, appetizers were pretty decent, and the bartenders friendly.
We visited the Windsor Arms Hotel for high tea and it was a lovely experience. The food and tea were delicious and the service was incredible. Would highly recommend.
I went to afternoon tea. Great decor and food. Service was good, I found it challenging to get the bill.
Came here for high tea on a Saturday at 2pm and was so pleasantly surprised at the elegance and service. It was truly a great experience and the tea and food was good. I've had some really good sandwiches at high tea in another hotel, but the Windsor Arms takes the cake for decor, comfort and style.
Attended a wedding. Beautiful venue. Servers were very professional. Lack of stairs is concerning. Consistently had a backup at the elevator since that was the only way up or down.
The Windsor Arms Hotel is absolutely gorgeous inside. The moment you walk in, there is someone to open the door for you. All the staff are courteous and helpful. The interior reminds me of an old school castle. The ballroom is like a mini version of what I would imagine Beast's (from Beauty and the Beast) ballroom would look like.
Clean rooms and main areas, nice location, charming ambience overall! Food quality in 'the living room' restaurant for dinner was great. Really nice bartender in the evening, and great live musician (piano player/singer).
Hotel Service is bafflingly bad. Greeted at check in with a lecture about the extra charges associated with linens on the pull out bed. Confused because the world over, it's been included in the room charge but ok. Regardless didn't feel like an effort in hospitality the way it was communicated, bad start to things. Later in our 5 day stay: two poor breakfast services (didn't eat here anymore after this). Order was wrong multiple times and staff had very little idea about ingredients. Separately the front desk seemed very uncoordinated. No knowledge about what time tea service was, the local area landmarks even. Turndown service was delayed beyond 8pm one night, seems excessive.
All in all a nice effort but staff needs training and coordination, along with some focus on guest experience!
Junior Suite, with a king bed, space-wise, was terrific. Decoration in the room was beautiful and elegant. Full stop.
It was $390 a night, everywhere where you look, the hotel can get a good cleaning even in the room and it's washroom, they room service came every day did the bed change the soap in the washroom and the dirty cup.of coffee and left. There was no cleaning anywhere.
Bed wasn't soft and it has little lumps on the mattress; tv didn't work unless the maintenance person came to fix it; on the last day, the two TVs in the room didn't even turn On. The water on the shower was always little chilli, the first day I thought it was because I didn't wait enough to to let it warm up, second day was better but the last day was absolutely cold.
I was completely surprise when the bill came and they charged me for mini bar things I didn't consume. At check out I express my discontent and the only answer I got was, why didn't you tell us earlier. I asked for the tv to get fix and it worked partially.
I won't ever recommend anyone to stay at the Arms of Windsor hotel. It's a three starts hotel and they charge like 5 starts.
We love coming to Windsor arms. It's right in the middle of everything but also is off a quiet nice street close to everything. A little pricey but always a good experience.
Certainly very disappointed on this visit and won't be back! After several years of coming here it was a huge let down from valet parking to front desk staff to being fooled on an overpriced High Tea. Really too bad as I always loved it here.
Attended the salt cave in the spa. While the service was good the hotel looks to be poorly maintained. Elevators were dirty, hallways needed repainting, looked very shabby overall, and in salt cave chairs were very cheap and not too comfortable. No side tables to put the tea on we were offered.
Went for a wedding. Lovely venue. Food was tasty, although it is not as hot as I'd expect. Service was generally good, with a few instances where i observed servers were a little curt towards guests, probably because they were under stress, not really sure. But overall it was a beautiful and intimate venue
Beautiful venue, amazing service, great food and drink in a unique hotel.
Had high tea with my daughter and had such a wonderful time. The tea and food was delicious
Hotel is nice but very expensive. Went to high tea. Again, good quality but probably the most expensive in the city. Not good value. Make sure you get a Groupon if your going to go.
Came to the Windsor Arms for High Tea on a weekday. Service was good, food was great and they had a wide selection of tea. We were welcomed as soon as we came to the door, to the table and the staff was very attentive from beginning till end.
horrendous service - seated 15 minutes late for reservation, forgotten often and given attitude when we asked for service.
The food and atmosphere are really great though.
