From the day I stepped on campus I knew Canisius was going to be my home for four years of undergrad. The small classes helped me get to know a lot of my teachers on a personal level. I was able to be very involved in campus programming and I came out of my shell throughout my four years on campus. I was able to balance clubs, school and work study, while enjoying all of the activities that the school offered throughout the week.
Being in the heart of Buffalo provided a great opportunity for me to learn about a new city. I enjoyed the ability to take the subway into the city or drive a few minutes to Niagara Falls for a visit.

Just driving by you can feel the vibes radiating off of this place. In a place like Buffalo NY where there are two other large campuses it is kind of quaint to think that there could be a smaller private college like Canisius College. When you drive by it really has an ecclesiastical feel to it. It appears to be a place of focus and structure.

Spent 1 year there and it was the best of my 5 years in university. They offer tons of awesome classes (in litterature and history at least, I can't speak for the rest), the library is super modern and everything is done to make the students feel good. A few teachers were so-so but on the average they were really helpful.

I visited Canisus College. It welcomes every National Origin, Race and Religion with open arms. Canisus is better than Quinnipiac University. QU hates their own Indian Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni. Would recommend Canisus College over Quinnipiac University any day. I have first hand experience of Quinnipiac University. QU will discriminate if your Indian, Muslim, Black, Chinese, Mexican. The only reason QU has South Asian students on campus is because the racist Higher Authorities want their money. John Lahey, Mark Thompson, Donald Weinbach, Dianna Pategas, Edgar Rodriguez, Lynn Bushnell, and John Morgan are at fault for all the racism that happens on the QU campus. The QU Higher Authorities mentioned above hate people of color (Especially Brown people-Indians and Muslims). In reality the QU Higher Authorities and Matt Conway QU's Attorney hate people from India. Matt Conway QU's Attorney wrote a death threat letter addressed to a QU Indian Alumni's to end his life. The QU Indian alumni's mother and father were also present and threatened by Director of Donor Relations Dianna Pategas and Matt Conway at the CCHRO Central Office Mandatory Mediation Conference in Hartford. QU's Attorney Matt Conway is ignorant, a bully, malicious, two faced, shady, erratic, disturbed, unprofessional, corrupt, dishonest, negative, rude, and racist toward Indians. Matt Conway and Paul Stoughton manage an unethical law firm. Conway voted for Donald Trump. He supports the immigration ban and Donald Trump name calling every Black NFL player "SOB's". He has a disdain for Indians. A Quinnipiac University Indian Alumni floored him on the Connecticut General Statutes and Title II Public Accommodation Civil Rights Act of 1964 in the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities. He is incompetent and has no clue on World Views, National Origin, Creed, and Race. Attorney Conway lost a National Origin discrimination case against a QU Indian Alumni in 2015. Unsuccessful in defending a National Origin Discrimination (India) claim and failed to get a "No Reasonable Cause"(administrative dismissal) determination in CCHRO during the Mandatory Mediation Conference for his client Quinnipiac University. 82 allegations were filed against his client John Lahey President, Mark Thompson EVP, Donald Weinbach VP of Alumni Affairs, Dianna Pateags Associate VP of Alumni Affairs demoted to Director of Donor Relations, Edgar Rodriguez Chief of Public Safety Quinnipiac University for discriminating, harassing, provoking, bullying, extorting, blackmailing, and threatening an Indian alumni's life. Indian National Origin discrimination complaint easily passed a CCHRO Merit Assessment Review. Complainant's CCHRO Lengthy Affidavit and Rebuttal was much stronger than Quinnipiac University's weak response. The QU Indian Alumni and the Indian family pointed out in CCHRO that National Origin discrimination against Indians does exist at Quinnipiac University and in the small little law firm of Conway and Stoughton. Matt Conway wrote the threatening letter to end a QU Indian Alumni's life thinking that it would solve the problem. It made the problem worse for his client QU.
Down below is a comment from the Quinnipiac University google page. A pattern of National Origin discrimination toward Indian people does exist at Quinnipiac University.

The faculty and campus are amazing, but something about the University itself is off-putting. The lack of any diversity may be a problem but the fact that they group ethnic students together on purpose with housing is extremely concerning. Also extremely expensive and the meal plan is limited as well.

My teacher went to this college. He quit to go eat buffalo wild wings and work in a bagel factory. College isn't everything.

Love it here overall, but the student lounge in health science smells like urine and death again. I don't know who I should voice my concern to over this, so I'm hoping that saying this publicaly will eventually get it fixed when the right person sees it. The smell was a problem last year and now it's returned. I have heard other students say that two men urinated in the room, which has led to the odor. Please shampoo or replace the carpets.

Went here for my Master's degree and was incredibly disappointed in the program. It was in the business department and I did not feel like I received anywhere near my money's worth.

Very nice and old college with several new buildings. In summer you can sit outside very well. In the winter garden you can easily get from one building to another through underground passageways.
An ideal place to study.

I went to Canisius for a 4 year triple major and I really enjoyed it. The classes are small and the professors actually care. It has a great business program, but there are a lot of gen-ed prereqs that you need to take which is somewhat of a shame. Highly recommend getting involved with groups and clubs though. Networking is one of the best things you can do. You will have some professors taking attendance, and I know, sounds a bit weird for college (especially because you are the one paying), but it only furthers the fact that the professors care. All of the professors have their doctorates and many have real-world business experience which is a big plus. Since graduating, I still keep in-touch with a few professors. You'll get as much out of it as you put in. If you try and sit back and be invisible, you won't get as much out of it. If you're actually active and participate in class, you're going to have a good and positive experience. I would recommend Canisius. Have made many life-long friendships with students as well as professors. Get involved though!

This was the only college that would give me a degree, and I tried 6! Thanks Canisius!

I am currently enrolled in the Graduate Education program at Canisius, seeking a Masters in English Education as well as an advanced TESOL certificate. I am writing this review because these reviews weighed heavily when I was deciding which program to attend last year. The teachers I have had here are all touch notch. They go above and beyond to make sure we have the tools we need to be effective in the classroom: a classroom that is becoming more diverse and challenging. Canisius is a college that cares about you as a person. They take into consideration your personal circumstances and really advocate for your success through how they put theory into practice. Not only are the teachers always available to help; but administration as well. I attended Boston College undergrad so I was also looking for the Jesuit spirit as well...I found it here. Hands down I would recommend this school. I am seeking dual certification - Ontario & NY - Canisius will help you with this process.

Excellent professors. They really take he time to prepare detailed lectures to make sure you learn the material. They also have open hours to go get help if you fall behind. Lots of options for food and a wide variety of clubs to join.

I am a Canisius graduate of 2013 and I do not regret going to this school. To get the most out of this school, you have to know certain people. These people are the professors, your classmates, and maybe the staff that make the food ;).
In all seriousness, the classes were small and the professors were willing to help. This college has resources at your disposal so do not be afraid to use them. Now, it is an expensive school so keep that in mind, but the programs are fantastic.
Just keep in mind that it is near the East Side and some neighborhoods are not so good. During the day you will be fine walking through them but at night I would keep an eye out and check your surroundings if you are walking around them. Other than that, have fun!
