Seriously? Wilson Farm gave a box of overripe peaches from New Jersey in the CSA share this week. By purchasing the CSA, we are hoping to support the local economy and receive the local fresh produce. It is not uncommon that some local farms work together on the CSA program to provide the customers fresh produce, but ... a farm that s 350 miles away?
I am not too impressed by the quality and varieties that Wilson Farm offers in their shares as they always have better our own produce in their farm store. Some items in the shares seemed to be included to fix their inventory control .

[Updated 10/8/2020] I uploaded the pictures of all items I've got every week. These are small share and the CSA runs 18 weeks for $450.

High quality, and unique items. It's more than your typical farm stand, but not quite a grocery store. You will pay for the quality, but not out of line with other premium stores. The bakeshop, and cheeseshop, in addition farm produce are very good.

Yes they do sell the vegetables grown right there and at their farm in NH, but that's a small fraction of what they sell. Still, great selection of produce, prepared foods neat and cheese. Similar places: Verrill farm in Concord and Russo's in Watertown. Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Also accessible via the MBTA 76 bus from Alewife Station or a small detour from the Minuteman Bikeway.

Rightly famous ultra-farmstand sells their own poultry, has an impressive bakery that produces home-styled treats along with good Patisserie. A very passable cheese counter joins the fairly new selection of refrigerated ready-mades. Of course, the produce is superior as well. A good garden section, to boot.

Fantastic place. Prices are sort of high but everything is local so that's expected. Great selection of quality products. Some hard to find things like goose can be found here. Highly recommend.

Great quality fruits, vegetables, and meat. Prices are very competitive, and amazing samples/events on the weekends. As long as I live in eastern MA, I will always make the effort to do my shopping here.

Blows wegmans and whole foods out of the water.

As others have pointed out the CSA is not exactly local food so just be aware if thats what you think you are signing up for. One of the biggest changes over the course of the CSA was the huge amounts of corn they padded each week out with. If we had a side soda business that needed corn syrup, that would have been fine but instead it pushed us to sign up for a compost service because even our neighbors ended up refusing our excesses.

Really enjoyed walking around and discovering that there are so many different varieties if pumpkins. I love them! The produce, floral, decorations, etc. Were all an amazing dose of Autumn Sensory Overload and I loved it. With the exception of the young man in the floral dept, the rest of the staff acted so put out when I asked a question, a couple didn't even acknowledge me until I said hello for the 3rd time and the cashiers need to at least try and fake some enthusiasm when working at a place that is clearly a seasonal go-to for all types of folks from near and far (I met a family visiting Boston from Italy that made a special trip to the farm) that are trying to have a good time in such a beautiful Autumn wonderland.

Though it's not far from where I live, I've never been before. An hour and a half by public transport. or 30 by car so I rented a car to enjoy a ride out of the city just to go here. I won't waste my time/money doing it again. But I do wish I'd gotten the name of the young man in the floral dept. He was friendly to everyone, above and beyond helpful not only myself and not at all ostentatious but genuinely enjoyed what he was doing and his surroundings. He alone gets 5 .

This is a great farm with lots of locally sourced meats, veggies, fruits and bake goods. Every thing I have gotten from here has been great.
They also do events like farm tours for kids and adults. We always have a fun afternoon at Wilson's farm

Best farmer s market in MA. Such a great variety of fresh foods to choose from.

Update: Went back this morning to get some pastries. The old guy at the pastry section is not a very nice person. He wasn't welcoming and gave me an attitude the whole time. Also he is very slow.

Local products. Lots of gourmet food. Fresh fruit and vegetables. High quality. Large variety. A bit on the expensive side but that is what you get for the higher value. Highly recommend.

This place is good for local product. Including Shaw Farms milk and ice cream and other Goods. The one complaint I have is that things are always priced too high even for organic or local Goods. I mean it's like they don't even try to meet the grocery store prices.

The store is charming and a throwback to what farm stands used to be like. They advertise local produce but how much local produce you find is seasonal and most items are from way outside New England.

It s fun to shop there and the produce looks amazing and fresh. They carry some items that aren t mainstream.... however...

If you don t make a six figure salary, this store is not for you. It s almost like they re playing a game of let s see just how much we can gouge people for. For the premium they charge you d think everything they sell would taste amazing. Sadly, the quality variations in $6/lb tomatoes are the same as in $2/lb tomatoes, so why bother?

The store is wildly popular with Volvo driving soccer moms and people to whom money is no object. They actually make Whole Foods look like a bargain.

Wilson Farm is awesome because it consistently keeps up quality in veg standards whether it's their own (ex: best local carrots!) grown produce or not (ex: Fuji apples), I know because having been judging it for more that a decade. Some great sometimes oddball but delicious non-veg selections too. Kudos WF, keep it up!

Always great. Regular stuff, special order stuff, help with menus, ingredients. Staff is wonderful, knowledgeable. Michelle, Mark, Manny, Steve - Love those folks! And the cheese gang too! And they can select a melon - always perfect (well okay 9.8% of the time anyway :))

Wilson Farm used to be my go-to place for seasonal produce, delicious local fruits and all that good stuff. In 2020 it s different. Now they sell the same California peaches and Washington cherries as any chain supermarket but charge 2-3 times more for the same bag of cherries you can get in Whole Foods/Trader Joe s. I ve even got delicious farm fresh Upstate NY peaches in Wegmans this week, but nothing like that in Wilson anymore.

Hope they revert back to what they ve been in the preceding years. On the bright side, they re selling Maine blueberries now, so my visit wasn t entirely disappointing.

A lovely farm and Farmers market/supermarket. You can't really do your weekly grocery shopping but you can pick up some fine summer vegetables and lovely baked items, fresh flowers and cheeses. Not inexpensive but they are super fresh and the farm is stunningly beautiful.

The best place to shop for local, farm fresh groceries. Staff are incredibly friendly and the prices aren't too steep, but bananas are cheaper at Whole Foods in Woburn. The blueberry bagels here go quickly! They often host events depending on what's in season. The garden center knows what they are talking about.

Very nice lovely farmer market. Disappointing to see that the only small bike rack they had was not usable as it was covered by other stuff. Please do something to incentivate people to get to you by bike, as there is a long line of cars waiting for a car spot

There is something about Wilson farm during the peak of the growing season. All the signs that say grown by Wilson farms. The abundance of all their own corn and tomatoes. Flowers and hanging baskets and gorgeous arrangements everywhere. Plenty of employees and the right parking spot IF you time it right. The area outside the stand is full of delightful treats......oh and blueberries. This is summer.

So fresh and reasonably priced for what it is. Of course not everything is from their farm, it's new england and they couldn't possibly offer such a great selection with local foods only. The staff could work a tad bit on trying to match the charm of the store.
