Staff in the clubhouse were friendly and helpful. No starter. Beautiful day but very busy and we started 15 minutes after our tee time because there was nobody managing the first hole. Not a big deal for me but certainly there were some angry golfers out there. Fairways were hard surfaced/very short grass. Greens were very fast. Tee boxes were in good shape. Push cart rentals were terrible but they were actually assembling new ones in the clubhouse for future use.

Magnificently maintained city course across the home of the San Antonio Spurs. Great rates at a course guaranteed to provide scratch golfers with an entertaining day as well as provide a fair challenge to the novice amongst us.

It's a Muni. Clubhouse and bae and grill is very basic, no frills. The course is okay, with dry, hard packed fairways. Hit and miss with the fairway, and green conditions, probably more miss than hit. Fun times tho and the play is fun.

One of my favorite public courses in San Antonio. The greens were in rough shape today, May 9, 2018, they looked cut too short. It's got a few long and straight holes, as well as some good technical dog legs, then throw in some elevation on approach for 9 & 18, this course has a variety that's enjoyable to play.

Driving Range = No

Driving Range = No
Putting and chipping green = Yes
Bar and Grill = Yes

Overall I gave 4 out of 5 stars in regards to value. I am a member of the Alamo Trail and like to walk this course. It is long but even longer from the tips. You can see the improvements made; new bridges and new planted trees. I have played this course several times and it is one of my favorites on the trail. Fairways are open for the most part and greens are big and never in bad condition. I like the back 9 better then the front as there are more creeks and hazards that come into play. Pace of play is usually steady. I am not comparing to a resort course but gave 4 out 5 due to value (if trail member), friendly staff, and full service bar and grill. I would like to see a beer cart on weekends. Im surprised there is not one considering how busy it can get on a weekend morning.

Nice layout that could be much better if the maintenance was stepped up. Very reasonable green fees, so I guess you get what you pay for. Pro shop has very little to offer, so make sure you have what you need.

A pleasant yet challenging place to play. High grass cut short & water or high ruff areas being transformed. Well manicured and carts are handicapped, giving us older & physically challenged golfer a closer view of the beautiful play ground. Very enjoyable including the low playing fees and replay fees.

First time on this course. Walked it on a nice early November day, not advisable in summer. Good greens for a muni, good speed. Has a lot of long par 4s, which gets a little redundant. Most have open fairways so good place to hit driver. Not much sand in bunkers. Staff were great.

Nice course some greens are almost in perfect conditions. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Cheeseburgers are great as well. The cook can use some help at lunch time. Overall a good experience.

Decent course. The downside was the tee time managment. My tee time was delayed 55 minutes due to the course overextending themselves with 2 morning tournaments. I expect better from any course. This will detour me from playing here again.

Very friendly staff, will help you, and are nice and social. The front nine, however, is crap. It is literally a trash yard around the fairways, and not pretty. But, the greens are nice. The back nine is pretty solid, but still, outside trash is all over the course at times. No help for navigating the holes. Makes it difficult with many dog leg fairways. It could be good, but prices are very detracting. $50 to walk 18 and rent crap clubs. Would recommend if you have money and don't care where you play. Some decent, long holes overall though...
I would say
Distance-5 stars
Scenery-1 star(trash everywhere)
Mapping/hole guidance-2 stars
Greens-5 stars
Prices-2 stars

This course was ok. For being right across the street from the AT&T center, it was not as nice as I thought it was supposed to be. There was not a cart girl and the club house was a little below average. The equipment (carts and GPS) was on the nicer side which is what I expected but the rest feel short of my expectations. The greens were maintained but not outstanding.

For being 1 day after a major rain hit here, it was in goid shape. Staff was friendly, good snack bar. City course, rates are reasonable. Come loose and prepared, NO DRIVING RANGE. Recommend playing.

Played here last Sunday for the first time. For a municipal course, WS is not bad. Scenic, plenty challenging (for me, especially!), and reasonably priced. I think it ran about $47 including a cart. A couple of negatives--fairway grass was okay but too riddled with weeds, especially nutsedge, and don't get far off the fairways if you know what is good for you. Greens were still recovering from aeration, so they were not in great shape and yet very fast. No beverage cart in Texas in the summertime is just plain cruel and unusual. Food in the grill was good--I had a delicious breakfast taco, freshly cooked up. All in all, not a bad course, but certainly not something special.

Course was in great condition and fun for a municipal course, but beware of rude patrons. I played 9 holes, 3 over par in 1 hour and 20 minutes on a late Sunday afternoon with almost an empty course and yet I was still hit into on two occasions. Neither party apologized. I can only imagine what the crowd is like during more peak playing hours.

This course is a great value for the cheaper rate, but in terms of overall experience, you get what you pay for.

I thought the greens were a bit fast and the fairway grass was, well, interesting it's not a bad course but the inconsistency of the greens speed was, well, interesting. Not a bad course overall.

Course is in decent shape for winter. They have a practice green and pitching green. No driving range though. They also have a grill. Had some upgrades done to the course. Fairly open type course and several dog legs scattered around. Fun to play.

Very solid track for the price. I was impressed with the maintenance following weeks of rain in San Antonio. Grades are below; keep in mind this is after 15+ inches of rain the last 14-18 days.

Greens: A-
Fairways: B+
Tees: B
Rough: B (They are working on this to get caught up)
Bunkers: B- (Due to rain)
Value: B+
Pace: great for a weekday. I was playing solo and was waved through 2-3 groups with no issue. Settled in behind a twosome but I was taking my time.

First course I ever played back in 1968. Went home for my 50th HS reunion and booked a tee time with my son. So looking forward to playing it again. Unfortunately, after 4 holes, the sky opened up and we had a torrential downpour. So much for that. I will make sure to try again on my next visit home.
