The only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 is the staff. If I could just rate the staff (well some of the staff) I would give them 5 stars for sure. Unfortunately I've been in a few hospitals for treatment and Dr. Henriquez is seriously the best doctor I've ever had. You can tell she actually cares about her patients and how they feel. When I needed a medication increased she was willing to help and increased it. When I wanted to decrease it she was happy to do so. Jane,Sache and Mike were also great. I loved listening to them talk and enjoyed their groups and stories alot. Some of the techs (Netta) and nurses were awesome and the kitchen staff was great too. One of the downsides to this place (of which there are many) is they lied about certain things to get me there. For example whoever I spoke to in admissions told me you could go out and smoke whenever you'd like and while they had plenty of smoke breaks throughout the day and on the weekends usually you can go out when you like I still don't like being lied to. When I first got there I was told I had to be in quarantine for 24 hours until I got results from a covid test which meant sitting in my room with nothing to do and it was more than 24 hours. Plus they said my meds would be brought to my room and in the morning before going for my covid test I would get meds and neither happened. I was told after my covid test I would be moved to one of the other units and that never happened. The pictures and description on the website make this place look and sound great but the place is really dirty and they don't do 90% of the stuff they say they do. On top of that for the last 2 days I was there they were redoing the floors in our hall and we couldn't go to any other hall to watch TV or use the phone so basically our options were sit in the atrium or lay in your bed and they were still doing construction when I left. Most of the med nurses are RIDICULOUSLY slow there were 13 people on the unit and it took 3 and a half hours to do meds and most people were only getting 3 to 4 meds not a ton of pills each. To top it off the beds are a joke they might as well be stone slabs. I'm already in tons of pain and have trouble sleeping but those beds made it nearly impossible. I'm not expecting an ultra plush memory foam mattress but at least a mattress with a little give. I'm already dealing with alot and physically struggling why is all the furniture in there designed to be as uncomfortable as possible. I will say the food there is actually pretty good especially compaired to other places I've Yeah I'm at the gas station at cobblestone and county line grabbing your swisher. The tech that looks like a 10 year old girl Luna is a world class BI TCH. We went to group one night in which they were watching an AA movie. When we got back and went on our smoke break she decided to stop it early because supposedly she opened early and she said no one was there I said we were in group to which she replied there was no group you should've been here. She does everything she can to make you mad and does the absolute minimum amount of work she can and walks around looking like she's baked like she just got done smoking a joint before she came to work.

The Willough is one of the original programs to open in the early 1980s. The outside of the building looks dated, but the inside units have been re-done. There are groups and meetings 7 days a week. The staff is professional and caring. They can detox here.

So my boyfriend and I admitted ourselves to the willough s almost 4 years ago, on October 28th of this year we will be celebrating four years of being completely clean and sober!! this place did so many good things for us it s hard to even know where to start... the staff there are great they are very caring and understanding, the doctors, the nurses.. the whole team honestly that worked with us individually all truly cared and really truly want you to recover. I was in there for dual diagnosis so I received help with my addiction and my mental illness which I believe had a lot to do with my addiction to drugs in the first place, they just taught me how to stay clean one day at a time and to take control of my life...ever since I walked out of that place I knew that, that was it forever and the opportunities that have come our way sense that morning has changed our lives forever. We have traveled all up and down the East Coast, We don t have to worry about where we will lay our heads because our bills get payed... we own 2 two cars, it is amazing where life can take you once you just stand up and take control, let your addiction know who s boss. Thank you to all of the staff there for helping us change our lives, we love u all!!
Sincerely,
Michael McDarby & Mikel Cochran

BAD. Outdated, unqualified, and very inhumane here. Would not reccomend this to anyone. Most people here are ready to kill each other. It Has not been updated in decades from phones to structure etc. The food is poorer quality then youd find in 3rd world Africa. They keep u much longer then u need to be kept after meeting there standards for discharge because they want all the money they can get with currently going under. The therapist from mike David justine down are unwilling to provide any kind of service for u one on one if u are not there to detox. They should not have admitted me in the first place according to dr lado who was also unwilling to send my meds to CVS as his assistant said they would be day i checked out. They kept me 4 days longer then needed which was very uncalled for. They didnt know how to accommodate for vegans at all was stuck eating just peanut butter and bananas for 10 days here and felt very weak after while. The patient advocates also just tell you what u want to hear as well. So overall prepare to be TREATED like a prisoner for 1500 a day. Not worth going through the AUSCHWITZ expiernce

horrible experience at this rehab center. they do not care about the patient whatsoever, will call you by the wrong name, everything is completely disorganized. they give you unlimited drugs to shut you up and by the time you get sent home you re addicted to the drugs they gave you every day, every 3 hours!! they will lie to your family members when they call to check up on you while you re in rehab. if you care about your loved ones please do NOT send them here!!

This is NOT...in any way a rehabin the traditional sense. While there, I was one of the 2-3% of patients there to get clean via abstinence from all narcotics.
This is a duel-diagnosis facility. If you want drugs, you'll get them. If you do not want drugs of any kind...this isn't the place for you. I had been there a few timesover the years before I remained clean. They make it comfortable as possible to addicts, homeless, mentally ill...so they Will ret urn.
I'd say, without a doubt, 90% of the clients are simply drug addicts who also have a mental health diagnosis. Which doesn't mean anything considering most addicts at some time in their life ARE diagnosed with something. Mostly mood disorders or bipolar disorder ( on paper every addict is bipolar..and the symptoms of addiction and bipolar mimic each other in the DSM.
THE HOSPITAL in the grand scheme of things is definitely a $$ making making machine. About 50k per client, over 100 beds, and a revolving door. 8 out of 10 have Medicare. So they use their 180 lifetime Medicare psyche hospitalization days going in and out.
To get to their next as I check...to get to their next prescription refill...to get off the street.
If you want to get off all drugs...keep in mind your daddy Will be full of people either jacked way up on subs/ teks, or way down...( I have had insightful conversations with incoming new clients ergo only days later had to be wheeled around as a fall precaution) it's like...there goes another one. Also...you Will have to fight the urge to get narcotics as there is always the option.
I remember freaking out cause I was in a relapse prevention group session...literally the only clean person in the group... right after med call...talking about how to avoid relapse while high?
As such is the modern day recovery system.
Harm reduction via replacement drugs has over time completely replaced abstinence. I cannot tell you how hard it was watching high people, arguing with doctors to NOT take mod altering substances.
Having said all that...the administration and owners could care less about clients or their civil rights...and from my perspective they treat the staff perhaps worse.
The staff, however, are awesome. Sache Cases as was awesome...the recreation department, and the kitchen staff... there is a clear feeling the folks who work with clients care.
So if you want to get clean...its on you. It is what you make it. This is for seasoned vets...allot of criminal behavior, allot of regulars...not for the sheltered young person. Bed bugs are a regular occurrence. Etc.
Watch your belongings etc.
Its on you. There ya go.
