WARNING : DONT DO IT!

WARNING : DONT DO IT!
I can t say as much as I would like to say about this college giving the fact that I am still currently enrolled in my Senior year, but I can warn you not to come here! My first two years here were definitely a time to remember, BUT soon after that all of it went down hill. They DO NOT care about the students at all, it s all a show when you first are welcomed here but soon after it s like prison. REALLY, enjoy your college life somewhere worth while because here either they FAVOR you or just have no care for you at all. Most of the staff/administration here is RUDE and basically just want your money. Also, it s nearly impossible to transfer your credits to other universities/colleges after a certain amount of time, so if you did want to transfer basically you d have to start all the way over. I can say the professors genuinely do care about their students and they teach VERY WELL (I m a biology major) so that s THE ONLY PLUS. Currently, they have added EXTRA unknown fees as well causing people not to be able to walk during Commencement. They expect you to come out of pocket OVER $10,000 by the end of the semester or else you will not Receive your degree!! It s sooo much more that s to be said but I ll leave it here. Make your decision wisely... PS ITS BORING!!!

I had a great experience at Wiley. It's a small college, so it's easy to connect with the instructors and get the help that you need. It's been over a decade since I've graduated, and I still keep in contact with some of my former instructors and classmates. I love Wiley!

Wiley College administrators have proven time & t...

Wiley College administrators have proven time & time again that they do NOT have the best interest of the students, especially the currently serving President "Dr." Haywood Strickland. This school is more concerned about giving grades versus students learning. Fellow students are currently graduating in interdisciplinary studies, which is a made up degree so Wiley College can receive the graduate numbers. This is quite disturbing for students like myself who have worked hard and EARNED an honest, G.P.A. Wiley College please STOP giving away degrees this discredits you as an institution.

Wiley College was Beautiful. Attended a funeral at the Julius S. Scott Chapel today, Sunday, October 18, 2020. It was very nice. Being a graduate of Wiley, I am very proud driving by the campus and noticing the changes and the up keep all over the school. I Love It.

About Wiley college

Wiley College: A Legacy of Excellence in Education

Wiley College is a prestigious four-year, privately-supported, historically black college/university (HBCU) located on the west side of Marshall, Texas. Established in 1873 by the Freedman's Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church, Wiley College has a rich history and legacy of providing quality education to students from diverse backgrounds.

With over 140 years of experience in higher education, Wiley College has become one of the oldest historically black colleges west of the Mississippi River. The college offers undergraduate programs in various fields such as business administration, criminal justice, education, biology and chemistry among others.

The campus is spread over an area of 70 acres and boasts state-of-the-art facilities including modern classrooms equipped with advanced technology for interactive learning experiences. The library at Wiley College houses more than 100 thousand volumes and provides access to numerous online databases for research purposes.

At Wiley College, students are not just numbers but individuals who receive personalized attention from faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. The student-faculty ratio is low which ensures that each student receives individualized attention from professors who are committed to helping them achieve academic success.

The college also offers various extracurricular activities such as sports teams (basketball and volleyball), music ensembles (choir and band), drama club among others which provide opportunities for students to develop their talents outside the classroom setting.

Wiley College has been recognized nationally for its academic excellence by various organizations such as U.S News & World Report which ranked it #22 among HBCUs nationwide. Additionally, it was named one of "America's Best Colleges" by Forbes Magazine in 2019.

One unique aspect about Wiley College is its debate team which gained national recognition after defeating Harvard University's debate team in 1935. This historic event was depicted in the movie "The Great Debaters" starring Denzel Washington which showcased how a small HBCU could compete against Ivy League institutions through hard work and dedication.

In conclusion, Wiley College stands out as an institution that provides quality education while fostering personal growth through extracurricular activities. Its rich history coupled with modern facilities make it an ideal choice for students seeking a well-rounded educational experience that prepares them for success beyond graduation.
