This is a a good waterpark for younger kids but still has enough of the more exciting slides to keep parents and older siblings interested. The wave pool is pretty rough. Not suitable for very young kids or poor swimmers. A teenager was nearly knocked unconscious while we were there and the life guard had to quickly rescue him. They also have a huge arcade area if you want a little after dinner entertainment. The staff is polite and the rooms are clean. Negatives would be that the layout is a bit inconvenient and the map doesn't describe the slides or detail the height descriptions. There was also a lot of bird guano on the deck attached to the room and on pillars and beams throughout the park. They need to employ anti bird spikes. As a general rule rider have to be 42 inches to ride the tube slides and 48 inches to ride the body slides. Children under 42 inches can ride on double tubes with an adult.

The place is relatively outdated but not by that far comparing to all surrounding resorts. There are several waterparks spread through the compound. 3 indoor ones are walkable but the wild west is kinda far (by indoor route). There is shuttle service but we weren't able to catch any when we were there. We waited about 5 - 10 mins a couple of times. The water parks themselves are pretty standard comparing to other resorts in the area. Wave pool, hot tubs with outside access outside, several slides. Nothing too special. A bit let down actually since I'm more used to more the young adult oriented slides at other resorts. This one is more geared toward toddlers and < 6/7 yrs olds.

If your looking for a resort that has everything in one spot this is the place, with many out door and indoor attractions, water parks, go carts, mini golf, zip lines to ceramics this place has it all, many restaurants and bar choices. Arcades, indoor rope course and even 3 different escape rooms to play, everything in between we loved it, always things to do without even leaving the resort, the skywalk let's you get to all the different areas without walking outside if you choose. Clean and friendly staff. We have been to the Dells many time but this was our first stay at the Wilderness Resort, and we would definitely return.

Way too crowded! Also, have to pay a resort fee on top of room rate and taxes which was an extra $75 for us. And be careful with your towels as they will charge $25 per towel if you don't turn them in. Such a pain. Cant get a chair or table anywhere at overcrowded parks. And upon check-in don't go for their coupon book because you'll spend 20 minutes fielding their aggressive condo sales pitch! We used to enjoy this place but we're done. Be sure to get a room on the 1st or 3rd floors because otherwise your hallway is full of human traffic yelling, crying, and stomping until midnight.

Wilderness Definitely a HUGE disappointment

Wilderness Definitely a HUGE disappointment
For the past 14 YEARS annually I've booked a block of rooms at this facility. There have been some qwirks within this year's of reservations but never did I complain until now. I now know how customersget treated after years of loyalty.
Our rooms (17 of them) were booked Oct.26-29) On Saturday night Oct.28. 4 adults were laughing and talking while 1 adult was sleeping and 3 smaller children sat amongst us adults. 3 security men approached our open door. 1 of them came in literally screaming and acting like he was making the largest drug bust in the state. The veins in his neck were bulging out he was soo mad. We sat there confused. I even looked at this man and asked him if he was "for real" he then stepped out in the hall looked at his SUPERVISOER and said "yep, she's out of hand" (because I asked a question) The Supervisor then step in and screamed "If you don't stop you'll be out within a matter of seconds". (I think he said 5) .. At this point we were all speechless. My 7yr old was scared to death, crying and wondering if his mom was going to jail. Again, mind you there are 17 rooms booked. And everyone said they couldn't hear us. 3 other families were now standing in the hall watching all This go down (speechless) This was also the first time security stopped. They never stopped prior to say "HI folks, keep it down" I can't express the fact that they came in like a swat team making a bust and scaring the heck out of innocent kids. 14 years I've never complained until now!! As a group we spent over $4800.00 (that doesn't include their taxes) on the rooms, $625.00passes and let's not forget the meals and drinks. Or the 14 YEARS OF LOYALTY also the emotional earthquake (abuse) they put 3 children through. The harassment and the assault when they got into one of my guests face for also asking "is he for real right now" THIS MAKES ME SICK!!!
The Wilderness offered a $50.00 gift card. Well isn't that a slap In the face after 14 years!!!
NEVER AGAIN!!!

It's nice with a lot to do. However, our accommodations were dirty. Stayed in a condo. Dust bunnies in closet. A pubic hair in bathroom. Kitchen utensils were broken. Beds were hard. Hot tubs filled with small children treating it like a pool. Other than that we had fun.

Very nice facility with several water parks, restaurants and activities. Clean and well staffed, and minutes from downtown Dells and restaurants. Room was clean and comfy but I will say that our room had very little sound deadening. I could hear actual conversations in the room next door. The water parks were all great though! Plenty of stuff for kids of all ages and adults. the wave pool is excellent. Wilderness is going to be our go to place. Highly recommend!

Friendly and attentive staff, good amenities and activities for the kids. Rooms are starting to look outdated. The water in the wave pool was not "clean" this new year (2019). It was the worst I've seen, it was very murky and lots of random debris.

As much traffic as they have, its not bad. They have indoor and outdoor parks, giant wave pool, all the slides and lazy rivers. Tons of stuff to keep the kids AND the grown ups happy. Fastest pizza on the planet, on site froyo and dining. The candy shops are a great addition. Make sure to check out the new TakeFlight. Great room deals, nice and spacious for a hotel room. Its awesome you can take a shuttle to the other property. They offer free wifi, but with traffic as heavy as it is, they should offer a premium wifi option.

The downside: This place can seem like a giant maze. At times I felt like we were in a giant escape room scenario.
A number of the people that come here probably shouldn't be here or out in public amongst the population either, this is not the resorts fault though, except the maze part. I'm also pretty sure the resort had no influence over the half dressed drunk girl standing on the table on the balcony screaming motherf***** into the parking lot and all the children.
There should be someone to tell the kids to stop cannonballing and wrestling on top of people in the spas. At many times, the indoor areas are kinda over crowded with people who really dont care even about personal space. We nicknamed the Klondike Cavern something else and made it a point not to go in there after we saw the overcrowding.
Even with the downfalls from other "guests" we've stayed here a few times and will stay more.

Addition: You are very welcome Wilderness Resort, it is not the fault of the resort when some bad guests come and behave badly. Problems reported seem to be taken care of quickly and overall it was a great visit. We hope to see you guys again soon!

Super spendy but nice place overall. Has stuff for all ages. Word of caution on water slides... they have zero respect for privacy as they weigh you in front of everyone and no they dont have the scale digits covered so if your someone whose self conscious dont bother going on these slides

Got there at 2 pm to get some swimming passes knowing we might not get our room right away which was fine. Computers were down and had to wait 3 hours to get our room and swim passes. They didn't even try to accommodate us while we waited. Then our room smelled like old laundry. Wasn't a good experience.

Staff at both Wyndham and Wilderness were rude. How many times do you have to show ID before you are able to get into your room. For me 3 times. Once at the front desk then again at guest services because the front desk didnt have my info right, then again at the front desk to get my key. Hassle and run around. Waste of time as well. No parking. Had to park by the main lobby and walk to door D for our room. Long walk and having to drag everything from the car all that way. Went to Northern Lights Arcade and both nights we were here the staff was more than rude. You were completely ignored when standing at the ticket counter. They all looked at each other all 4 of them and said no your turn no your next you help them. I had just spent over $100 in this arcade and this is the type of people you get helping you? The next night we went and could not hear the announcement that was being made and all of a sudden my machine shut off. I went to the counter and asked if I get my credits back and the guy laughed in my face. I know it shuts down at 11, but when you are in there with no clock or watch and can not hear the announcement you have no sense of what time it is. Each credit is $1. I am not saying a $1 is alot, but when you just swipe your card and loose it and dont even get to play the game and then have someone laugh in your face I really wanted to say some things that shouldn't be said. If it wasn't for the nice rooms and waterpark we would never come back. I am glad I am not an owner here and sold my timeshare. This type of service is embarrassing.

Very fun place, 3 or 4 waterparks I cant remember. Always eat away from the hotel (unless you dont like money) because prices in it are astronomical, great for little kids too, they also have some tiny waterparks for tiny people.

Very nice resort. Employees were friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the restaurants were pricey, but everything in the Dells is overpriced to begin with. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this resort to everybody!

The resort is great, water parks were all clean and well maintained, same with the rooms. A star removed for the scam at the front door. You get told to pick up a coupon book at a desk which is a timeshare scam. They will lie to you about what this actually is. I fell for it and paid the $50 fee. After receiving the information email I knew I was duped. The information in the email completely contradicted what we were told. No refund was available, is what I got from the people that duped me. It took me until the next day and a walk in the rain to get a refund. Dirty people, shame!

Check in was insane. Stood in line for 15 minutes and was told by an employee that there was no line at the other lobby so I hauled it across the hotel and when I got there the line was just as long. Checked into room #408 and smelled horrible! I was switched to room #438 and it smelled just as bad. Sheets were damp, carpet smelled and was damp. I was not going to waste anymore time by switching to another smelly room. At checkout was asked how our stay was, I said not good and the agent responded with sorry to hear and never asked why. Will NEVER stay here again. I paid A LOT of money to stay in a dirty...smelly.. disgusting room.

Just too damn big!! We spent most of the time we were there walking from water park to water park!! It's literally like a small City! They also sell day passes so the water parks are always packed!! It's worth a visit for the experience but that's enough for me!!

Great family getaway!! Multiple water parks, an indoor playground, arcade, & restaurants all connected via indoor skyways. It is so easy to take our 2 yr old out in the AM, back to the room for a nap, and then out again in the afternoon. Great fun for all. Plus the suit rooms are great with mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot & cable including Disney channels.

I went here for a training seminar. My wife & son enjoyed the water park & he had a blast with the go karts & laser tag. I bought him a wristband for unlimited rides. I was disappointed by not being able to use the fitness room. My room so happened to be three rooms away from it. I needed my room key to access it but the hours are only from 8am to 10pm. Since I needed to be in the convention center by 7:30 & didn't get back to my room with the family until after nine there was no time for a workout. Several other people complained that they couldn't get a morning workout in either. I see no reason why the fitness room can't be accessed 24 hours a day. The room was comfortable. The outlet for the hair dryer didn't work & maintenance was able to fix it immediately.

The parks were very child focused (which is expected) but they do have a nice "adults only 21yr+ pool" with a swim up bar area that was a pleasant surprise and much needed reprieve from the children in the Waterdome park. Overall this was a large resort with a ton of amenities indoors like go karts, Lazer tag, mini golf and more which made it a great place to visit even in the winter; the only downfall was food quality and the price of said food. So if you're looking for some family fun I recommend but if you're a couple looking to get away maybe look else or look into their Sundara Spa.

Stayed up there several times But the ONE time I let housekeeping clean my room, they stole my credit card number and used my address of my drivers license to try go on their own shopping spree. Made hotel aware of situation. Will never stay there if that's the kind of employees they hire.

You are not gauranteed your expensive room until 4. So you stand in a long line to check in. They will send a text when room is ready and you have to go back to stand in another long line to just get your keys. Waste of vacation time! They should have a separate line just to hand out keys quickly or pre-program so you don t have to go back.

Mariah H from the front desk was the worst check in assistant I've ever experienced. She was so annoyed of us the minute we walked in. Gave us dirty looks, acted like she was on top of the world, and was swearing under her breath behind the desk when she couldn't get the keys to register in her machine. Wilderness is great, but she made me never want to come back because of how uncomfortable she made me feel the second we started talking to her.

We tried Kalahari last yeear, so wanted to tribe a different one. If you combine all 4 different water pools and play areas, Wilderness might be slightly bigger than Kalahari. The main one has a giant wave pool and a slide. The other one has a lazy river, few slides, a central water play ground with smaller slides and a couple of big slides and a hot tub, and the farthest one had water bumper car (w/ water gun), two big slides and again a water play ground, and another hot tub. The package we bought came with two unlimited fun admission which included water bumper car, go-cart, laser tag, laser maze, huge jungle gym, and the rope course. We liked all the amanities and entertainment they had, the pool was generally clean. We really liked the wave pool as the wave comes in every 8 minutes and it had two different kinds. It wasn't too crowded and the food and the staff were very nice. I don't know having all these separate pools is a plus or minus. I guess it accommodates more people and makes less crowded. Overall it was fun, but exhausting trip!
