The Wilderness is a wonderful family destination all year round. My family has had a get-away home in the dells all of my life so I have seen all the changes the Wilderness has gone through over the years. I was recently at the Wilderness this past weekend and stayed at one of the on site cabins. The cabins and resort hallways felt dated and needed renovations. The wild-west fitness center was smaller then a standard hotel room and the machines were dated. Also the drinks at the water park bars were extremely over priced. I spent over $75 on 5 drinks and they were not extravagant what so ever. All the Wilderness needs is some updates to make the resort feel more modern and less dated. With these types of renovations I would feel better about the $75 worth of drinks. Overall I had a great time and would go back again.

Continues to be an annual destination for fun. Stayed in Glacier Canyon Lodge section. Room amenities average. Maintenance staff responsive to lock and dishwasher issues. Disappointed with in-room coffee pots, now provided with a small 4cup maker in a room that sleeps at least 6 people.

I've been going to this resort for about 19 years now and it definitely gives a chance to see the ups and downs. I would say that with having experienced most of the water parks in the dells, the wilderness has the best quality and widest selection of indoor and outdoor fun. Recently, on my last visit they had a portion of the hotel under construction which I appreciate very much that they see the need for updating their current model and it in no way disrupted our stay or enjoyment. For the most part over the years the staff has been great with occasional outliers. I have stayed in a lot of different rooms of different quality, from the cheapest rooms to rooms with a jacuzzi right by the bed. Always clean and always what I expected. In short I'd you are going to the dells i highly recommend the wilderness for a family stay or otherwise.

Lots to do and the kids enjoyed all the activities. Property is showing lots of wear. No maid service during our stay (stayed two nights). Some staff acted more like we were in their way. Host at The Wild Canyon was great. Towel left from previous guest was hanging on the shower curtain.

Friendly staff, wonderful rooms, and a swim up bar in one (of several) waterparks. There's plenty to do in a span of 24 hours ,in addition to the many restaurants & gift shops located right within walking distance. Highly recommended if you're looking for a getaway during the frigid season (or blistering summer months)

We booked one of their condos for a large group. The room was not cleaned properly (there were poop stains in and on the toilets!) which is really concerning and unsafe given the Covid outbreak. Our neighbors were playing music incredibly loud until 2 am - called hotel security 4 times who did nothing and finally had to call the local police to stop them. I talked to the manager at check out who gave me a weak apology and basically blamed me for not calling sooner about the dirty room and noise issue. We will NOT be staying here again - there are plenty of other resorts with identical or better lodging options just down the road.

I always stay here when I'm in Wisconsin. They have added some more game rooms since the last time I was there. My boys had a great time. I stay at glacier canyon in a 2 bedroom. They offer On site restraunt, waterparks, lazer tag, lazer maze, indoor go carting, frozen yogurt, bumper boats, candy, store, general store. Anything you may need or want they have a one stop shop. They even offer time share presentation. I love this place. Also a must visit, is fields at the wilderness. OMG to die for. I hate It was my first time visiting this year 2018. I will drive 4 hours just to have dinner in that restaurant. Please visit. Kids eat free or get $10% off just for being a wilderness guest.

I got accused of cussing at staff members. That s absolutely ridiculous because the only time I spoke with a staff member was to order a drink and to thank them with rides. My boyfriend was there by my side the whole time and heard everything coming out of my mouth. It was embarrassing being walked out with security. I will not go back. I go every year and will not go back. The room was okay. I loved the big tub!

Will never stay here again! Ended up getting a UTI from the waterpark and all I asked from Wilderness was to get reimbursed for almost $300 of medical bills and they claimed it was not their fault.

Bordering on being a monstrosity, there's almost too much hotel here. If you want to go to the waterparks make sure your room is close or plan to do a lot of walking. Rooms are clean and the location is unbeatable if you want to be near the heart of downtown.

This place is great. Plenty of activities in good weather and crummy weather. The indoor pools got really crowded during rainy days, but on nice days there were tons of options! The outdoor park by glacier canyon lodge was the biggest and had the most to do. We spent an hour just walking around and checking everything out the first day. Indoor playground at the arcade was awesome. This resort is on a really nice piece of property too with the canyon, trails etc. Overall it was pricey but they have some good deals during off-peak and weekdays. Watch out for fees. Hotel rate was 179 for a two bedroom condo unit but came to 225 a night once taxes and fees were added. Included park wristbands for 4 people. Highly recommend- great family getaway!

After a terrible stay at mt. Olympus we stayed a night here and the experience was amazing! Check in was fast and easy, everything was there at the resort so we didn t have to drive from one building to the next. Our room was clean as well as the water park & hotel itself. The water park was accommodating for both adults and children which was perfect. Costumer service was outstanding. definitely going to be our new spot to stay when visiting the dells!

They have a lot of things to do around the resort, but lately, the prices have rised and the quality has lowered. The hot tubs are cold, filled with kids, and the waterparks are extremely dirty and no place for young children/any children. The arcades smell terrible, and are very gross. The rooms are not impresive either. My room had a leaky roof, and I was not happy. I will not come back here, but if you can deal with all of the bad, you sure could try.

Great place to stay at and have fun indoors for the winter. The only negative thing I have to say is that kids over take the hot tub, leaving the adults no where to go. Tried sitting in one for a while but had unsupervised kids splashing and jumping in, not a relaxing experience. Also all the signs say no kids younger than 6 but just about all of them were too young. Maybe some more authority on this will give the adults a more peaceful place to sit.

Once again, wish a 1/2 star could be an option, as I feel 1-1/2 star is closer to my experience was with this lodge. This review is from 2015 so is a little dated.

The one thing that I can't get over, with water resorts, is if they're filthy. Went to two (2) different water parks within this resort and both were completely filthy. I don't think these resorts do an effective job cycling/filtering the human skin and other things that accumulate in a large pool area and the Wilderness is no exception...no in fact I'd have to say it was exceptionally worse than most.

If you're staying at a resort for an overnight or a non-pool related event, I can offer up some decent things to say about this resort: The resorts hotel rooms are spacious and nice. The extra's are average for a resort this size and the staff was helpful. I just can't give anything more than 1-1/2 stars for a pool related hotel-resort when the pools were as filthy as they were.

One other downside to this place was the food. I know it's a waterpark, however as another commenter said "the pizza tasted like cardboard". And I might add the chick strips tasted like rubber with sawdust breaded on it. My kids (who eat almost anything pizza and chicken related) couldn't eat more than a couple of bites after playing in the pool for hours and starving.

I really hoped to give them 5 stars. We stayed in the Villas recently and we're disappointed. We had some issues and it took days to fix. The cookware was outdated and some unusable. The AC didn't work on the 2nd level, broken doors, and a very uncomfortable bed. I don't want to nit~pick everything, but for what we paid... This wasn't what we expected. A number of friends stayed there too and they were disappointed also.

I will say the parks were great. Very clean and for being fully booked, you could always find a spot to sit. They seem to be very good at controlling people from coming in that don't stay overnight. You can't buy extra passes.

We brought up our issues twice while there, I'm quite surprised we never got a call or any contact from management since. I hate giving poor reviews, but if they don't care that a group who rented over 20 rooms and villas isn't happy... We won't come back next year. I do hope they reach out as this is a yearly trip for our team.

Super expensive over $400 a night for a room that is more cramped then a motel 6 I was told by the booking agent our fun passes were included in the price but when I arrived I was told the 400 just covered the room the fun passes are not included and they are $30 per person for a single use pass and $50 per person for the unlimited....sorry as a family of 6 I was not about to spend an additional $180-300 for passes I was told were already included
Lastly we has pizza there that was reasonable but the drinks are $3.50 for a fountain pop no refillls

The BEST Place to go if your looking to have a Vacation in the Dells, very immersive in to the "Wilderness" Experience, My family has been going every Christmas and it is AMAZING! My family just started staying at the Glacier Canyon Lodge and even though it is a bit of a walk (But it is not much of a problem because there is a Sky walk) it is WORTH IT trust me. Forget about the Great Wolf Lodge or the Kalahari. Think about going to the Wilderness.

Beware of the additional random $50 they will charge on top of your nightly rate for a "resort fee" and they don't want you to know about it until you check in. Also, when checking in anytime kids are not in school be prepared to literally wait an hour in line or more just to check in. Everything here is super expensive and absolutely nothing is free or complementary. When we finally got to our room there were 2 water bottles in the room. My first thought was well at least they gave us 2 free water bottles. We should at least get that for these crazy expensive rooms. NOPE!! The waters were there with a tag says they were almost $4 if you drank them. Wow! Also they will not let you have kids under 6 in hot tub but having 80 people in a hot tub with a max capacity of 51 people that is totally fine.
