Good fresh & tasty food. Bit pricey but the service was lovely. Outdoor area was refreshing, clean and tidy. Worth a visit, it was busy so you might want to reserve a table for a weekend visit.

Delightful small group lunch at Wild Canary last Friday. Attention to detail is a hallmark of this lovely place. Delicious food. Try the Buddha bowl for a visual and taste treat!
.Warm welcome. Top spot.

Wild canary Bistro is tucked away inside a nursery, just follow the signs. The food is presented beautifully and with care. The flavours go beautifully together. Their menu is quite extensive catering for different taste. Seating inside and out and perfect for children and families. Being situated image a nursery, there is an edible garden next to the cafe where you can learn about what you are eating.

delicious. tranquil. beautiful gardens. dogs welcome ....(edit 2019)... Although it's possible the hostess should not be in the hospitality industry and when they tell you that they can accommodate gluten free options to most dishes they only include egg-based toast options.

We had lunch here around 1pm with another couple today. Good setting, nice private table, attentive hostess. We settled down and ordered relatively quick being mindful of the kitchen shutdown time. Our meals arrived around 1:30pm. Fish of the day was well done. Other meals appeared well presented also and we all thought it was good quality. However our experience and social interaction was interrupted by people frequently darting around our table admiring the art pieces on the wall behind us. At first we thought it was just cursory interest but over the next 30 min this grew to the point that we realised there was an art exhibition and we were right in the middle of it! Come on guys surely you could have allocated us another table when we made the booking on Friday. You must have been well aware of the Sue Rowsell exibition. I really find this bad form and lacking respect, and considering the $160 we spent - a real disappointment. We live in the region and hosted our friends but we will not be in a hurry to return. After all money does not grow on trees well I did not see any in your nursery .ah correction.. it was left on the table. Wont make that mistake again...

Have been here in previous years and the plant based dishes were all fantastic. However my recent visit is slightly disappointed with the pork from the dish called Piggy in the middle was super bland. Could not taste any seasoning or herbs at all. Texture was great, nice and soft. Chorizo sausage was dry and overcooked. Potato cake was the best tasting element. The pork pie had a nostalgic homemade flavour and well balanced. Salad was well seasoned and very fresh. Hot chocolate and long black were pretty standard.

My wife took me here for my birthday yesterday. Amazing place, great outdoorsy place... Enjoyed my souffle. Unfortunately, ended up with a really bad stomachache and nausea later that night which I suspect is because of the milk shake that I ordered. I'm lactose intolerant and asked for lactose free milk to be used. Although I was charged for it, I'm not sure if they actually used lactose free milk. If not for this incident, I would have definitely gone back.

Service is always friendly and fast. When they are super busy they still do really well in coordinating with each other and the kitchen to keep things moving. I've never had a bad coffee and the breakfasts are great. Definitely now what you can/would cook at home! Plus, the venue is beautiful. I imagine it would be a fantastic place for functions and receptions also.

Was greeted warmly upon arrival. Coffee was correct Italian coffee temperature which I appreciated and flavour good. We ordered classic breakfast and kimchi pancake. Both were excellent and my kimchi pancake scored a 5/5 and partner s classic breakfast 5/5 - the side greens from the garden were a lovely addition. Place was busy so best to book.

Take a moment to take in the amazing location, enjoy the scenery, love on the menu a bit and then just order the Gardeners Breakfast. We sat around and enjoyed the food and drinks and then waltzed through the nursery (constantly trying to convince my wife we didn t need Another Plant!)

We asked Wild Canary to make us a custom wedding cake with edible flowers. The simple sponge with beautiful strawberry layers was delicious and enjoyed by all. The design and ordering process was easy. We knew we wanted a Wild Canary cake for our weddings years ago when we lived nearby - it was seamless and easy even now we are a distance away. CHEIC our their Instagram for inspiration!

Thanks Wild Canary !

Hard stop on weekend breakfast menu at 11.30am, weekend lunch menu starts at midday... wonder how many times a day the staff have to explain that?

Some people might like some all day breakfast options, just a suggestion.

Nice ambience.

Service was superb, food great and good value for the quality, this is wholesome food done well. I am not usually a dessert kind of guy, but the assortment was too good to refuse (the Moroccan Orange Almond cake was perfect). Can't wait to try the breakfast options next time.

The ambience and food are good, but service is a bit lacking.

It was a rainy day, the outdoor tables and chairs were wet yet no one bothers to dry them up before taking us to the table so we had to do it ourselves.
Took us 5-7 minutes to grab someone s attention to take our order for food and the table water and cutleries only l brought to us just before the food arrived.

We had the stone fruit cake and plum cake for dessert, have to admit the danish looks really good but can t afford $9.5 for that. The two cakes were basically identical but plum one was freshly made so it s more moist and crumbles are still crunchy.

Also it was the most expensive coffee size upgrade I ve seen in a cafe, $4.5 for cup (in photo) $6 for a mug.

They have a beautiful kitchen garden outside the restaurant, just wish they have incorporated more of the varieties of veg into the dishes.

Wild Canary is set in the grounds of one of Brisbane's best nurseries, parking on site and then a leisurely walk through the nursery to the beautiful cafe which is pocketed in amongst the beautiful gardens and trees. Most of the seating is on a covered verandah which let's you take in all the beautiful surrounds. The menu is an all day selection with a great range of breakfast, lunch and snack items. I had the gardeners breakfast which was fantastic, it was a very generous array of eggs, a thick cut of bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, haloumi, sourdough and chutneys. The coffee was also very good, very enjoyable place for a catch up.

For the price I paid for my meal, I was expecting something nice. Instead I had a mouthfull and that was it. It was terrible. The braised beef cheek or whatever it was unvelivebly bad and trust me, I am not a fussy eater.

My new favourite local! A rare free Friday morning with my husband and we decided to try this place for breakfast. The space / garden / seating is amazing - this will be great in the warmer months. The food was fantastic not your usual breakie fare you have at every other cafe and the coffee was fabbo! The staff were friendly, attentive and smiley. Highly recommend this bistro for breakfast. Lots of options to sit inside or out and also space for large groups or couples. The cakes, slices and pastries looked great as well. I will be back for more! Thank you.

Addit: Returned for lunch on the weekend, sat outside under the trees, had a G&T (limited edition) and had a grand time. LOVE THIS PLACE! Service was on point too :)

Wild Canary is without doubt one of my fave cafes in Brisbane. It's is nestled amongst the trees, & connected to the award winning Brookfield Garden Centre. Everything on your plate is sourced from their organic garden, local farmers & business. I love the relaxed & beautiful atmosphere, & the calmess the sounds of the birds, and the trees whistling in the wind brings. The coffee is quite good. They use the New Zealand Air roasted coffee beans called All Press which i love.

I highly recommend trying what on the specials board, & if you can save some room in your belly, make sure you try a slice of one of their beautiful cakes. Staff are lovely. As it gets quite busy, i do suggest to make a booking ahead of time. Meals are a little bit more pricey, but i believe it reflects the quality of the produce. I am happy to pay when i know I'm going to be eating this beautiful food

I love the Wild Canary. Really relaxed atmosphere with over the top customer service. I love their coffee & at times they have a divine gluten free cheese cake. Be prepared to be visited by beautiful birds of the many kinds cuteness alert.

Very snobbish waiters that wouldn t accomodate us just because we had a larger dog. Told us they were fully booked when there were multiple tables empty and no reserved signs on any of them. Very unimpressed, won t be going here again.

Highly recommend Wild Canary.

Great food, excellent service, great attention to detail, thanks Kate and your team for making Doug and Georgie's wedding such a special and lovely time.
See you for your fab breakfast soon, Rob Sewell

Staff were friendly and efficient, meals were served in a timely manner food was presented well and was delicious. The cocktails were great but the deserts were to die for the choc caramel cake was the best cake I have ever eaten. The whole area inside and out was very relaxing and well looked after. Most definitely would recommend trying this place out I most certainly be going back. Lynda

Always wonderful. Dishes full of fresh produce and herbs. Cakes are AMAZING! Visually spectacular, decedent, delectable. Setting is incredibly relaxing with plenty of indoor / outdoor options. Pet friendly (good for owners & also for those of us who like saying hello to doggos). Plenty of space between outdoor tables to allow for prams. And of course - you get the 2-for-1 bonus experience of being able to browse the fantastic Nursery & homewares shop. Another big plus - staff make a big effort to direct parking & find a spot for everyone when it is bustling.

Lunch was good but not great, we both ordered the Nasi Goreng, was it really a Nasi Goreng, the judges are still out on that one. Sometimes dishes are given too much of a twist that they actually loose what makes it a great dish in the first place.
The Kacup Manis flavour was there but the sambal in the little dish on the side was none existent and really wasn't a sambal, more like a chilli oil with a bit of chilli and onion.
The egg on top was over cooked, it didn't ooze out over the rice, the side salad was just wrong and the dressing was awful, did this dish take me to Malaysia/Indonesia, No! sorry guys this dish was a big miss for me.
The service was very average, the waitress was quite snappy when I asked a question regarding the dish, I think she presumed that I didn't know what the dish was, so therefore waffled quite a bit, having lived in Indonesia for a number of years and have eaten hundreds of Nasi Gorengs, this certainly wasn't one of those, as the old saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it! "
I don't really know why they charge fine dining prices, maybe it's to match the pricey plants they sell, sitting in a garden centre in Brookfield with little to no view and having to use outdoor toilet facilities, really!
I don't think that I'll be rushing back anytime soon.
Sorry folks I was so underwhelmed I didn't get any photos show, maybe that's a good thing.

The food at Wild Canary is absolutely amazing (although not cheap). I love the fresh ingredients and beautiful plating. The staff are not incredibly friendly but the food makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely location within a peaceful, very upmarket garden nursery. Staff are nice, but a bit too cold in their social skills. This restaurant comes off a bit too pretentious, which is a shame, as it could be a hit if it were a bit more friendly... I didn't feel comfortable, or even welcome, here.

I was so disappointed with our visit here after reading all the other reviews I was certain that it would be fantastic, but it left us with a bad taste in our mouths. I probably won't go back, not while it's competitors are doing better, cheaper. My recommendation is to save this place for a snooty special occasion only.

The thing that really got me was there was another lady waiting for takeaway and when her coffee came out it wasn t strong enough, so she sent it back. As I was standing next to the coffee machine I watched and heard the staff member make comment to the barista, mocking the customer in an unprofessional way, that the coffee needed to be remade. The barista then complained to the person handling our food order who then stopped working to join in the banter. The floor manager walked past witnessing all of this but said nothing.

I guess this is what you get when your hiring policy is for high school girls.

I was celebrating my boyfriend s birthday so, I took him to Wild Canary for breakfast. He loves good coffee so, I was scared about this specifically, but I have to say that everything at Wild Canary was perfect. Thank you guys! I ll be back for sure!

Beautiful breakfast and plants!! Love the scenery and vibe. I love the blankets they've offered to customers during winter. Incredibly cosy and thoughtful. Recommend wild canary for their food and hospitality. I've had a very good experience holding a small birthday breakfast with them last year. There was clear communication and excellent understanding. Good job team!
