A really beautiful and intimate concert hall with just enough room on the stage to fit a string quartet and a Singer. Downstairs you will find toilets, cloakroom and even a restaurant and a bar. The hall looks like 1920's in style. The spacing between seats is a bit cramped so it may be a bit challenging for the taller members of the public but the quality of the performance here more than makes up for that.

Wigmore Hall is based on Wigmore Street Marylebone London. It is a beautiful Victorian concert hall with plush red velvet seating and a small stage prefect for intimate concerts and events.

The acoustics are gentle and all seats will have a fairly decent view of the stage due to the size of the hall.

There is a lift down to the toilets, a bar and restaurant. Glasses are not allowed in the hall.

Wonderful and frequent performances including lunchtime sessions.

This is primarily a chamber music venue and the stage is tiny so when larger ensembles perform here, such as the Dunedin Consort (superb, un-missable, catch them if you can), they are crammed together to an almost comical effect.
The audience seats are not raked upwards so the view from the back is not great.
It is difficult to get good tickets because of the patronage system where tickets are often released in a number of tranches before the general public get a look-in. The audience demographic is therefore heavily skewed towards the elderly wealthy elite giving it a very different feel than say Southbank or Barbican.
This is a pity because there are some superb concerts here by world class performers.

Lovely small concert hall. I didn't get to hear a performance, hence only four stars. I will happily upgrade my rating once I have heard the acoustics, as I suspect they are very good.

The pre-Raphaelite friezes are worth a visit in themselves. The acoustics are excellent in a well-kept collection room. Here too, if you are in London for a two business day, for a relaxing weekend and you like quality music, I do not recommend you miss it. Online booking has only one flaw: mandatory registration ..

Stunning concert hall with good acoustics and comfortable seats.
Very well organised performances. Staff were helpful, knowledgeable and efficient.
Lovely bar and restaurant downstairs for pre-concert and interval drinks and nibbles.
Spotless toilets downstairs with plenty of cubicles. They also have a cloakroom downstairs.

Wigmore Hall is a really good classical concert hall. It is relatively small in size but has good acoustics and is used for small scale music such as chamber music and as a showcase for young musicians. The facilities include a downstairs basement bar / cafe / restaurant which is a enjoyable way to spend time before the performance. Beware the seats are not comfortable for taller people so if you need legroom get an aisle seat.

No. 1

One of my favorite experiences in London is a Monday Midday Concert at Wigmore Hall. Classical music livers gather for one hour of great music in the acoustically outstanding venue. Sunday "Breakfast Concerts" are also a treat. Wigmore Hall has a very pleasant restaurant. Patrons are very pleasant and the staff is very kind and helpful. Do not overlook this venue

Fantastic acoustic and intimate venue. Lovely marble decor. The ceiling is a little plain and looks like plaster board formed into an arched but it can only aid the acoustic. The building is near Oxford street and is a short walk from Oxford Circus. The venue is suitable for small chamber works and is regularly a place for broadcast concerts featuring on BBC.

Small venue but not too small offering maily classical music but I suppose anything could be played there. Bond street is closest on the tube map. Toilets located downstairs. The stage has a rather odd painting of some angelic being and scribe writing things on a huge scroll.

Hardcore classical music fan's venue, and not too large for solo musicians. Audience clearly full of music nerds too, resulting in a respectful listen and resounding applause for the excellent musicians. Pretty much the only way in More

Minded to write to appreciate what a wonderful concert venue this is for Londoners - indeed, international music lovers. Wigmore Hall hosts world-class talent and I always visit when I'm in London. Very worried for the arts in this middle of this crisis. To lose a place such as this would be nothing short of a tragedy. I imagine it will be supported enough to survive - but it has flourished for so long now and is a vital centre of the musical life in this city. I hope it is supported properly by government so that it can flourish again. Classical audiences are on average older, therefore there may be more resistance to audiences returning at full throttle. I devoutly hope not. Good luck to Wigmore Hall from one appreciative visitor over the years.

Surely one of the best rooms ever gig. Perfect acoustics. Beautiful, not very comfortable seats but for a planning always of considerable level. Extremely kind and helpful staff to meet you. The public is an elite of connoisseurs.
