I wish I could write another 5-star review but I can't. I was mis-represented by Jonquille Pak, who gave me promises on her professionalism she did not stand for. I have been ignored for half a year. I asked her to use advice of the IP lawyer who helped me with the initial contract, she refused, sub-contracted someone else, and I was billed for 5.5K for finding out what was already known. A month or two delay was usual. Etc, Etc. I am giving up.

I was in need of an employment lawyer and I came across Whitten & Lublin. I contacted the lawyer firm and set up an appointment with David Whitten. David had a very good understanding of my situation and practically solved all the issues on our first meeting. He was very attentive to details and he picked up hints and useful points that I had overlooked. He is a very patient listener and I was able to take my time to present my story and concerns. Before the end of our first meeting, he had already formulated a course of action setting out the final goal and range of expectations. When I asked about the fees, I was very surprised to hear from David that it would be way less expensive for me to take on the hourly fee option. I was not expecting a lawyer would say that. He genuinely cares about his clients as much as justice being served. I was so impressed when he presented me with a draft for me to approve the day following our first meeting. I was initially pretty worried about this call, having never talked to a lawyer before for employment reasons. 18 years of faithful service and suddenly, my position was eliminated. My ex-employer gave me the minimum severance package dictated by law. An old family friend who is also my Financial Adviser came over and checked my offer the day after I was let go and decided I needed to see a good lawyer. We googled "Top Employment Lawyers" and found "Whitten and Lublin" as the most prominent.
My friend made the call to their office. I believe he was given options on consultation rates but chose Daniel Lublin, even though it would cost more. My friend reckoned he charged more because he could get better results.
We met with Mr Lublin who examined my case, determined my ex-employer could do much better and told me my options. But he never pressured me to hire him nor did he place any time restrictions on me to get back to him.

However, I was amazed when he said he was not happy. He had called to ask my consent to go after them once more even to the point of suing them in court.
I am happy to say that Daniel Lublin along with his Law Clerk, Nida Arifullah, were so effective that they obtained the best settlement I could hope for without having to go to court and I did not have to pay anything more in legal fees than what was agreed to at the outset.

Update: As a law firm before blaming someone for a fake review you should have asked if they are using an alias to be anonymous. This blaming behaviour is a good example of how your case will be handled by this firm. Moreover, their victim blaming response is an indicator of arrogance and unwillingness of rectifying situation. Rather than looking what emails are not answered they chose the easy way of looking for client name which demonstrates their lack of professionalism and willingness to take the easy way out. Having so many 5 star reviews from people who have only 1 review under their profile seem like fake reivews but hey they are not bad for business; therefore, they must be true, fair and definitely not fake. Such hypocrites. Buyer beware!!!
Visited a lawyer regarding workplace issues. The consultancy was ok and I was charged over 350CAD for the consult. Although I was promised by the lawyer that he would answer any questions if there is an update on the situation. The case progresses I sent emails but they were never replied and no support was given. Not dependable especially if your case is not easy one.
