I recently had the privilege of working with Daniel Chodos who handled my case with unparalleled professionalism, understanding, and empathy. Facing a challenging and unfamiliar situation, Daniel's expertise and support made the entire process significantly less stressful.
From the initial consultation to the resolution of my case, Daniel's knowledge and experience in employment law were evident. He guided me through the complexities of employment law contracts, ensuring that I understood my rights and options every step of the way.
Throughout the process, Daniel's communication was exceptional. He kept me informed, promptly responded to any inquiries, and provided clear explanations, eliminating any confusion or uncertainty. His dedication to my case and commitment to achieving the best possible outcome were evident throughout our interactions.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Whitten & Lublin, particularly Daniel Chodos, for their exceptional services in employment law. If you find yourself dealing with a difficult employment situation, Whitten & Lublin is the firm to turn to for exceptional legal representation.

My 1st time using a layer to handle an employment severance package issue and Tommy Junho Hong was very prompt and assured an improved severance package from my employer. I will recommend him for similar legal issues. Thanks Tommy
It was a pleasure to work with, Athan Makrinos. He was very informative, professional and highly capable. He detailed the process ahead of me and explained everything in a way that I could understand. I would highly recommend, Athan to anyone in need of a great employment lawyer.
After researching many firms, I came across this firm and Daniel Lublin's profile, and decided to reach out to Daniel. That was an excellent choice as I had a tight deadline to meet with my former employer and in my first meeting, Daniel helped me better understand my options, provided clarity on the process, and made sure all my questions were answered. Daniel was very pleasant to deal with, methodical, and he truly helped me with candid advice based on what was best for me, not his billing.
I would like to begin with thanking Daniel Lublin and his team member Nida Arifullah for providing me with tremendous support during the ordeal of separation with my former employer. I had retained Mr. Daniel Lublin, who came highly recommended by a friend and it has been a very pleasant experience indeed working with Daniel Lublin and his team of Whitten & Lublin employment lawyers. Mr. Lublin was very professional, diligent, kept me updated with the progress and next steps, very strategic in his approach and has been very effective and efficient in negotiating a fair settlement with my former employer. Daniel and his team have been extremely responsive to any of my queries. I would highly recommend Daniel Lublin, who exceeded all my expectations, to anyone in need of an Employment Lawyer.
This was my first experience with any type of law firm in my life, and I was very nervous at first since I didn't know what to expect. Tommy Hong took care of my case, and was extremely responsive, professional and knowledgable.
I first sought out the consultation with Tommy at Whitten & Lublin before leaving my employer, and I am very grateful that I made that choice to meet with him as it allowed me to leave a very toxic workplace in a calm and rational way where I knew all my options before proceeding with the resignation. He walked me through the entire process step by step and gave me all the various options, which gave me the confidence and knowledge to take action.
I would definitely recommend for anyone on the fence to just go ahead and meet Tommy for the initial consultation and take it from there. You will feel relieved once you know all your options.
I found Whitten & Lublin and most importantly Ryan Watkins through conducting a Goolge search. So I understand the importance of taking a moment to give a review for that next person who might need it. W&L contacted me immediately after my initial contact and walked me through the process. When I met with Ryan he put me at ease immediately. What I love about Ryan is he just listened. I was so unsure if I had a case or not and if W&L would represent me. Ryan assured me I had a very strong case and put together a multi level plan. Ryan checked in regularly to see how I was doing and offered me his counsel on how to deal in a hostile work environment. I really appreciated him and his colleague Tommy Junho Hong who ultimately represented me when Ryan was on paternity leave. Tommy was smart and savvy and kept my best interests top of mind. Thank you Ryan and Tommy for helping me find my voice and making sure it was heard!
I truly appreciate the representation that was provided by Daniel Lublin and Simone. The strategy and execution they developed ensured an effective resolution/win.
They came highly recommended, and I too confidently recommend them for anyone facing employment concerns and for consultations regarding the legality of employer actions.
I was most fortunate in being referred to Daniel Lublin by an acquaintance. Having been displaced in employment at a senior age, I felt the normal abandonment feelings of what will I do now? that I am sure most professionals in my circumstances would. After my consultative meeting with Daniel, I felt very reassured of myself as an individual and realistic in what my rights of a fair severance should be. I found Daniel Lublin to be a very attentive listener and able to guide me through a realistic solution. Daniel and his supporting staff (namely Nida) exhibit a true professional and personal caring that you do not normally find in the professional legal world I would not hesitate in recommending Daniel Lublin as a representative for anyone who is facing the stressful issue of downsizing or outsourcing of their employment
After being wrongfully terminated from my job i was so upset and at a loss. Thankfully when i called the office I got a consultation with Athan. He was professional, personable and sincere to my situation. Not only did he give me confidence and direction during this difficult time. He was ethical and understanding and I got off the phone hopeful and determined. 100% would recommend him to anyone looking for representation.
I met with a Jr Partner at this firm. The individual at reception recommended them, and suggested that this level of seniority would assist with the assessment. While they were professional - ultimately, it was a disappointing experience.
First - there was key information that should have been gathered in the pre-assessment provided by Whitten Lublin. Second - The meeting lasted between 35 and 40mins. At about the 30 minute point - the Jr partner asked - what do want to get out of this meeting. Really? Third - I was expecting an hours consultation - per the appointment. $400 for 35/40 minutes doesn't really cut it. Lastly - Ultimately, the person I spoke to came across like they we're counsel for my former employer - poking holes in my points, telling me how the case was difficult and even cutting me off, at one point.
Many people seem unsure if they should consult a lawyer for guidance and advise. I suggest that employees that are terminated without cause or for cause consult a legal firm that specializes in employment law. In my case I chose Cedric Lamarche at Whitten and Lublin Employment Lawyers and was very pleased with my choice.
Cedric listened to my case and advised me of my options. He explained in detail how the case would proceed and advised me what results I could expect based on my choices. I tracked very closely the billable hours and found them to me exactly what was expected. At no point did he proceed without my clear direction. He kept me informed and answered all requests within 24 hours to the most part. The settlement figure reached was the figure we discussed at the start of my case. No surprises.
It is my pleasure to highly recommend Cedric Lamarche to guide you with employment law advice, assistance and legal services. He is a credit to his profession and has the unique talent of being both professional and approachable.
I must also commend Cedric s law clerk, Jessica Armocida, for her thoroughness throughout the process.
Whitten & Lublin is my preferred law firm when I need practical, strategic legal advice on an employment situation. Their lawyers are very knowledgeable, and I trust them to provide a fair assessment and work towards achieving positive results for their clients or those who simply need one-off legal advice.
Daniel Lublin came highly recommended from 2 other senior people. He was smart, professional, responsive and highly effective in determining an appropriate strategy. He made what could have been a difficult time virtually stress free. His extensive experience and excellent advice meant there were no surprises. Fees were exactly as quoted and I was very pleased with the outcome he negotiated. If you re not sure who to use when you need legal employment representation, I would recommend Daniel Lublin without reservation.
I strongly recommend Dan and Simone if you are fired and not sure what to do next. I was fired for cause with no money. It was a very difficult time for me. I came to Dan and his team because they were highly recommended and I had no idea where to begin. Dan and Simone were aggressive, knowledgeable and thorough. They were like a lifeboat in a storm. They always took the time to explain things to me so I understood how the law suit was going. I felt I was in caring and professional hands from the start. Dan and Simone would not back down at any point. I ended up very happy and with my name clear. Their fees were reasonable, considering all the work that went into my case and the outcome we got. Just because you are fired for cause does not mean you get nothing. Dan and his team will work hard to clear your name and make sure you are happy with the outcome
Paul Macchione and Ozlem Yucel helped helped me reach a fair and amicable termination settlement with my former exployer. I commend them for their labour law expertise, their negotiation skills and their speedy and personalized services. Career transition can be challenging but always I felt I was in good hands. I highly recommend Whitten & Lublins. Dr. Alexandre Brassard.
I was introduced to Daniel Lublin in the summer, after unexpectedly being removed from my senior executive position and suddenly being in need of legal guidance.
I have had the privilege of working with Daniel and his team for the past few months, and I cannot speak highly enough. From the beginning, he was exceptionally responsive and made the process simple and smooth. I live in Vancouver, and though Daniel is in Toronto, we were easily able to make the time zones work. His experience and expertise were apparent immediately, he explained what being compensated fairly should look like, and he outlined a strategy that focused on the highest priority outcomes. He did his homework, knew all of the details of my case, shared how he would approach, and asked for feedback along the way. What I appreciated most was that he was both sympathetic and practical at the same time, and collaborative in approach. He has the ability to make you feel comfortable almost immediately. He is transparent with fees and his fee structure ensures that both parties win.
I will definitely be recommending Daniel Lublin to anyone requiring employment legal advice. We have settled for a substantially better outcome than we started with, and I owe that to him.
I recently engaged Whitten & Lublin for a personal employment matter that I required counsel on. I was given an appointment with Jason Jagpal fairly quickly. Jason came to our meeting prepared having reviewed my case and provided me with a thorough legal review and the options available to me. In a very stressful situation, this was immensely helpful to understand the parameters in which I was operating moving forward. Jason remained available to me via email after our meeting for any follow up questions and responded quite promptly to my inquiries. The counsel was helpful and I would engage Jason Jagpal as well as W&L again.
It's not often that one loses their job of employment, but if and when it does happen, I strongly suggest seeking legal counsel before signing anything. Daniel Chodos of Whitten & Lublin Employment Lawyers was recommended for my case. To the untrained eye the offer looked okay, maybe even suffice, but Daniel took me through each part and explained what I was offered and what I should be entitled to. He asks questions and listens well making you feel involved at every step. Daniel handled the case with great knowledge and professionalism. At the end I received a settlement more then I anticipated with most legal fees payed for. I would strongly recommend Daniel, he did a great job and was a pleasure to work with.
I highly recommend hiring Daniel Lublin and Simone Ostrowski if you are let go without a fair severance. While I cannot comment on the specifics of my case, I can state that Daniel and Simone were creative, confident and fought aggressively on my behalf. We were up against one of Canada s largest employers and their team of lawyers. But Daniel and Simone were not deterred. They found a subtle but important argument that my former employer did not expect and this creativity ultimately pushed our case over the top. In the end, I was very pleased with the result of my case. If your employer let's you go and you need lawyers who are not afraid to take on a giant, call Daniel Lublin and Simone Ostrowski.
I met Cedric Lamarche under the worst of circumstances, and yet I came away from my lawsuit feeling that if nothing else, I had at least been truly lucky in my choice of lawyer. Cedric s pragmatism, professionalism, and personal warmth kept me sane throughout my experience. The other staff were supportive and understanding as well, and seemed to understand my needs. It s been over a year since the lawsuit was settled and I am still in touch with Cedric. I must say how pleased I was with the outcome. He is a sincere individual who cares about what he does.
I have used this law firm countless times and they have always been very helpful and will fight tooth and nail for your rights there's a lot of contractors out there that would take advantage of people because they think they know the law this law firm will not take those businesses lightly they will fight and see that the businesses are corporations will abide by the laws and regulations and which protects the homeowners and customers I would recommend this law firm to anybody that had any employment or business matters regarding business law
I reached out to Daniel Chodos for an initial consultation to describe a situation. Following the discussion, he clearly described the circumstance from his perspective, providing me options and guidance on the way forward. I was very happy with the help I was provided.
Had been assigned to Marc Kitay. Very fair and understanding. Brilliant legal mind who told me all my legal options. I'd recommend him and the firm to anyone.
I worked with Daniel Chodos and was really happy with his work. I had to file a harassment complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and he made the process easy and painless. I'm happy with the result of the case and would recommend him to anyone!
Following a recent lay off from an executive role with one of Canada s largest corporations, I was in a bind. I needed an employment lawyer with credibility who could go the distance with my former employer and not be afraid of the various litigation walls they would inevitably throw up. I was referred to Daniel Lublin by two acquaintances that had successfully engaged him in the recent past and looked at his work in the media and as the workplace legal columnist for the Globe and Mail. Based on this I decided to retain him to pursue the dismissal matter. Throughout the process, Daniel exercised skill at dealing with the complexities of my case and a reassurance that if we stayed the course, we would prevail. Daniel s strong points included: availability to speak with me (and my wife) without delay or excuses; attention to details, a collaborative approach to making decisions with me (instead of just dictating what he felt was best), a deftness at handling the matter with the other side and in court appearances; and his legal fees were reasonable and not inconsistent with my expectations. Daniel s biography says he has consistently been named one of Canada s Top Employment Lawyers. In handling my case, he demonstrated this is a title well-deserved. I would recommend Daniel Lublin to other executives and in situations where an employer needs a credible courtroom presence in order to be taken seriously.
I found Whitten & Lublin through a google search and decided to try them after reading the great reviews. I was NOT disappointed.
Pleasant experience from my first emails with Sharon to my consultation with Mr. Tommy Junho Hong. Even after my consultation ended Mr. Hong still called me back to answer questions i had forgotten. Having never needed any legal counsel before I was quite nervous to begin even looking for a lawyer. Dealing with everyone at Whitten & Lublin was very easy and they gave me very good knowledge and guidance on my legal issues.
I want to extend a very gracious thank you to Ryan and his team at Whitten & Lublin..... Ryan, along with Anna and others, worked very hard to resolve a matter on my behalf, and for that I am truly grateful. They were always clear in explaining processes and answered all of my questions. They acted in my best interest and I highly recommend this firm.
I first met with another lawyer and did not feel that they had the confidence to really go to bat for me. After meeting with Daniel, I was sure he would swing for the fences, and he did.
Daniel delivered on the expectations he set with me during the consultation and his fee was consistent with what we had discussed from the outset. During the negotiations, there were difficult decisions that had to be made. Daniel was able to advise the best approach based on his knowledge and experience, which we followed, and which resulted in a very successful settlement. I would recommend Daniel to others without question.
I would unreservedly recommend the work of Daniel Chodos at Whitten & Lublin. Over the course of six months, Daniel very capably guided me through what was an entirely new experience. Over that period he professionally and adroitly navigated a difficult situation to a satisfactory outcome. Throughout, he was unfailingly communicative and empathetic. His knowledge, obvious experience and concise appraisals always engendered a high level of confidence in the quality of representation I was receiving. That feeling was reinforced by Daniel s strategic approach and responsiveness to new developments. The potential range of options and outcomes was always clearly conveyed. Daniel made the process as comfortable as it could be under the circumstances. I appreciated my association with Daniel and received wise counsel during the legal journey which ensued.
I contacted Whitten & Lublin when my position was eliminated during a maternity leave. I had the pleasure of dealing with Paul Macchione. With having no knowledge of the situation I was faced with or how to deal with it, it was a comfort to talk to Paul. With the knowledge and experience he has you felt rest assured that everything would be taken care of. He explained everything he was doing in detail and responded promptly with any questions you had, and I sometimes had a few. You never think you would be faced with these types of situations, however if you are I wouldn't deal with anyone else. He made the process a lot easier to handle.
Top notch professional service. Very good at explaining in simple terms. All the advice I got made the difference, not to mention the other party was probably scared stiff when they saw who I hired.
Look no further...Daniel Lublin is a strategic legal genius, a courtroom surgeon, and a most clever and shrewd negotiator both a Doberman and Good Shepperd combined when it comes to battling for your employment rights with a never-ending goal to win! ...So, read on
I was let go from my firm while in my early 60 s without cause from a high profile executive post of which I had been a loyal corporate partner for nearly 20 years and was one of the top major shareholders. Unhappy with my severance offer, I started googling for the Best Employment Lawyer in Canada . Little did I realize at the time, when Daniel Lublin s name and credentials as the Managing Partner of Whitten & Lublin popped up, that I had just been blessed.
It was because of testimonials by past clients, just like this one, which read so glowingly, that I reached out to Daniel for an initial meeting. Within days he met with me, already having fully read up on the detailed background to my story in advance. Daniel demonstrated a remarkable ability to peer through the darkest of clouds hovering heavily over my life . Then, with unrelenting and calming confidence, he devised an ingenious legal, Art of War-like strategy one that brought hope, sunshine, self-esteem and purpose back into my life. Once engaged as my legal counsel, Daniel and I gelled in true team-like fashion, with his special and insightful form of analytical excellence leading and executing the way forward with a winning strategy uniquely devised especially for me.
If my story relates to yours, then I do urge you to also read over the reviews of the following former clients of Daniel Lublin, as presented in Whitten & Lublin s Web Site collection of testimonials, namely from: Mano Filippou, Feb 2/17; Stephanie Ozorio, Dec 13/17; K. Lobo, Oct 26/2016; Brent Gilmore, Jul 24/16; Oliver Manahan, May 6/16; Paul Sage, Nov 25/15; Kevin Clark, July 15/15; Brian Leve, June 23/15; Alex Perl, Dec 22/14; and Allan Morris, Sept 1/14. To avoid repetition here, I point to these specific testimonials as they reflect my experience and opinions of Daniel Lublin precisely.
In summary, Daniel Lublin successfully achieved the results I wanted. Based on my experience, there is no question in my mind that Whitten & Lublin, and in particular, Daniel Lublin, truly stands among the Best Employment Lawyers in Canada if not, in fact, the very best!
Whitten & Lublin law firm was recommended to me when I was terminated after 12 years. From the first phone call to the firm I was treated with the utmost respect. I was given the various hourly rates of the lawyers and help with how to decide which lawyer to choose, depending on the circumstances of my situation. I chose Ellen Low to help me with my termination package and was given an appointment the following day. An email was sent immediately with details on what documents to send ahead of time for Ellen's review prior to our appointment. She was very personable, extremely knowledgeable and professional and I felt that I could relate to her immediately. She reviewed my package and gave her honest opinion of it. She presented me with all my options if I chose to fight it and I was made aware of any charges that I might incur with each option. Over the next few days she very patiently and promptly answered any questions I sent to her via email. I now realize how important it is to have a lawyer go over any employment offer before signing for a new position and will most likely do this for my next offer. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone in a similar situation. Thank you Ellen Low!
Previously I'd worked with Daniel when I exited from my previous employer a number of years ago. He was extremely helpful and made the entire ordeal far less stressful, guiding me through the exit. The experience was so positive that when I had a second time I required an employment lawyer around contract discussions I went back to him immediately and once again was very happy with my experience and the guidance I was given. Sleep better at night by getting good counsel. Highly recommend.
Our situation is tricky, after 17 years of service, the employer basically played and tricked us signing something that's not right, that's why we went to the best of the best based on the review. During the $650 consultation, we were told that there is a 50% chance we might win - which is the advise that any free consultation can give us. Then we paid $3500 for the case with a partner, she basically just sent a standard letter to the employer, which of course they rejected - as they always do for first round. There wasn't any phone call or interaction as she said "there is no point". We decided to drop the case here as we don't want to pay more for a chance to win. So Whitten and Lublin might be great for straight forward cases, but for the ones tough and tricky, I recommend to go to one that will take a cut only when you get paid. The whole experience is disappointing, they are very professional and did get back to us very quickly, but personally I really don't think it lived up to the reputation of being the "Best in Toronto".
Athan gave solid, candid advice and was professional throughout. Service felt genuine and not a ploy to have you retain their services when not needed etc.
Fantastic Firm. The managing partner, David, is extremely knowledgable. He was a pleasure to deal with, a leader in his field, and was very compassionate during the entire process. I would highly recommend this firm!
Athan Makrinos worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcome on my behalf and I wanted to thank him and Whitten & Lublin for the excellent work they did. I will always be grateful for all of their efforts.
I came to this law firm, because of all the great reviews. I was recommended Daniel Chodos. I was looking for an experienced lawyer because of a Misconduct letter. I was told by the firm I needed to send a brief summary and any additional information because the lawyer needed to review my case at least 1 day before the meeting. I was surprised that 5 min before our meeting the office was calling to let me know they were missing an attachment from my email, did the lawyer not review my case 24h before my meeting? This way I would have sent the attachment earlier?! I mean this was the most important piece of information to my case? My in-person appointment was booked for 3:00pm and at 11:00am the office called to inform me the lawyer had called in sick, he was working from home, and I could have a telephone appointment.
I needed to move thing along and decided with the lawyer to have a telephone consultation. Unfortunately I left the consultation very confused, I was given only two options for my case which I found strange. I asked the lawyer a question about the letter which I obtained two different answer. I felt something was not right. I called the lawyers secretary to request to speak with someone whom I could address my concerns, and I was told I needed to pay for another consultation with the lawyer. I felt this was all about the money and the lawyer didn t care for my needs he did not listen to my concerns I had with my employer. Very unpleasant experience, and a waste of my money and time. I accomplished nothing from this meeting and have spent all this money.
I was very fortunate when I needed the help and advice of a lawyer to receive it from Ryan Watkins. Ryan was professional in all his dealings with me. He was very organized, experienced and wise but he was far more than that. He was also honest and kind, and very fair even as he defended my interests. He did not take advantage of my situation but instead worked for my good. He is not only a great lawyer but a very fine person and a credit to his firm. I have no hesitation in recommending him and gladly do so.
I got let go without a severance. Whitten & Lublin got me 5.5 months for 5.5 years, which is the best I could have hoped for. They were professional but quite relaxed, wasn't what I expected, in a pleasant way. I recommend, they'll take care of you.
Sezar Bune was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. From our first meeting he attentively listened to my case and presented me with the best options on how to proceed. Sezar's strong interpersonal skills coupled with his skillful negotiating ability allowed me to get through this difficult time with ease and piece of mind. Thanks again Sezar for all your help and understanding. I highly recommend Sezar and the team at Whitten & Lublin. Steven G.
I strongly recommend Daniel Lublin and Simone Ostrowski at Whitten & Lublin if you are looking for knowledgeable and efficient employment lawyers. I've work with them twice so far and certainly consult them again in the future if I have to negotiate a new employment contract.
I am truly appreciative of everything Tommy Hong has done for me. His expertise and understanding of the law, specifically finding the applicable case law for my case, was absolutely amazing.
Furthermore, not only is he a good lawyer, he is also genuinely a great person who was understanding of my personal circumstances.
I would highly recommend Tommy for his expertise and excellent client service.
My experience with Daniel Chodos was a pleasant and professional one. His reply to me was quick and he gave me very good advice. I found Daniel to be down to earth and genuinely happy to assist. I was able to ask as many questions as I wanted and he was very clear and helpful. I will definitely recommend Daniel to anyone who requires advice from a true professional.
I found a lawyer that was true to his word, and more. When the only company I ever worked for recently let me go, I consulted with Daniel Lublin at Whitten & Lublin to review my severance. Daniel quickly concluded that my offer was inadequate and we sued after my ex-employer refused to make any real improvement up front.
Many lawyers claim they go to court but that really only means that, if they can t settle quickly, they will sue and later when pressed, they will also settle. Daniel Lublin is different. In my case, Daniel actually went to a hearing at court and he won! A judge of the Superior Court of Justice awarded me almost double my employer s initial offer of severance and a good portion of my legal costs. Daniel s advice along the way was bang on, especially when he counselled me to reject a settlement offer made mid-way through the case because he was confident we would beat it at trial, and we did.
If you need a winner, call Daniel Lublin and his team at Whitten & Lublin.
I was a driver with my former employer for 17 years. The company decided to downsize and terminated me. I contact Whitten and Lublin for a consultation, I was assigned to Aaron Rousseau for my first meeting. Aaron listened to my employment issues and provided me with options and advice. He explained clearly the best steps to resolve my concerns. During the negotiation with my former employer, Aaron was always response to my questions and provided many insights and documents to allow me to understand the employment laws in Canada. After six months we settled the severance. I did not get the maximum amount, but I got a fair settlement The service of Aaron and his office staffs are A PLUS. Many thanks.
David Whitten is amazing! He is intelligent, patient, inspiring and was successful in managing my case. I always felt supported, comfortable asking questions and clear on my options in order to make decisions effectively. I would highly recommend David to anyone in need of an awesome employment lawyer.
My husband and I have dealt with Ellen Low on numerous occasions with regard to employment issues. We do not live in Toronto and drive over 150km (each way) to use her services. She deals with matters in a timely matter and she and her team are very efficient. The work she has done for us has been outstanding. Ellen is very knowledgeable and professional, yet still remains caring towards our needs. I would highly recommend her as an employment lawyer.
They sounded reasonable and knowledgeable - unfortunately they are having non-compete clause(s) of one of those unethical agencies. Not recommended for contractual workers in downtown Toronto as very likely similar cases might land up with a non-compete clause.
I was terminated from my job and not happy with the offer of severance I received. A friend who used Daniel Lublin for her case recommended him. I had a previous experience with another employment lawyer and Daniel was much different. Instead of going for garden variety severance damages, Daniel initiated a claim for invasion of privacy and general damages. This brought my former employer to the negotiating table and fast. They must have feared dealing with Daniel since they accepted our offer in order to settle the case! Daniel achieved 100% of what I hoped to obtain and relatively fast. Not least, his legal fees were also consistent with my expectations and what we had agreed to. In the end, I made the right decision to challenge my inadequate offer of severance and to retain Daniel Lublin. If you need a lawyer to fight Goliath, call Daniel.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Stephen Wolpert and his team at Whitten & Lublin on a claim against a former employer and he was fantastic to work with. He was very honest and upfront about how the whole process would go and what the pitfalls would be. I often relied on his experience to guide me with my decisions and how to proceed. The final outcome was positive and to my satisfaction. Stephen is a fierce negotiator and this was evident in the face to face mediation meeting. I would highly recommend Stephen to any of my friends, family and colleagues, if they required the need of an employment lawyer. You won't be disappointed with his level of expertise and how hard he'll work for you. I will definitely use Stephen and Whitten & Lublin again if the need arises.
My company fired me and gave me a package I was not happy about. Mr. Daniel Chodos assisted me and obtained for me a package to reflect my experience and expertise. Very happy with his services and I would recommend him to everybody.
Arrogant & Zero Empathy Completely dissapointed after meeting on of the senior lawyer. "not going the extra mile for a regular case" is the actual quote cos my case was too small. Never recommend them at all.
David Whitten provided guidance on the best position to influence a favorable outcome with the subsequent terms of my transition with my employer. Career transition transactions can be standard and complex. David s experience and honest approach and perseverance enabled a successful outcome. I highly recommend David s services when making business decisions regarding your career.
Working with Athan was informative and cleared up all of my concerns without incurring high costs. He was easy to talk to, answered all of my questions and helped correct the wording on my employer agreement to ensure there were no loopholes. I had contacted 2 lawyers initially to feel out which would be the most helpful and I chose this law firm without regret. I would recommend them to others and would use them again if required.
Recently I contacted Athan Makrinos and Stephen Wolpert of Whitten & Lublin, in regards to an Employment Matter whom provided a favourable resolution today Jan 10 2020. They are very professional, highly knowledgeable, they addressed and replied to my concerns in a timely manner, as well as provided me with valuable advice and options. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking legal advice and representation in labour employment law, Thank you Athan and Stephen.
I was under a lot of stress as a result of a dispute with my former boss when Paul and the Whitten & Lublin team took my case. Paul had taken away almost all of that stress while communicating all information to me in an easy-to-understand way. I couldn't be happier with the service. I'm stress-free and all my concerns are being addressed in a professional manner. Highly recommended! Thank you.
David Whitten gave me great advice negotiating the non-compete provisions of my employment agreement. He was very practical and helped me get a good outcome. I would definitely recommend him.
Ryan Watkins represented me and he is very professional and knowledgeable. He is extremely quick in responding and I was able to get my settlement within 2 months from my company. I will definitely recommend him.
I was terminated without cause and i hired the services of Whitten & Lublin Employment Lawyers. It was my first time hiring an employment lawyer and i was very happy i hired Athan. He went above and beyond in order to secure me the best possible outcome. Athan and his team are very professional, compassionate, responsive and helpful. I highly recommend the team at Whitten & Lublin. Thanks Athan for all your hard work.
My situation was handled in an extremely knowledgeable, professional and timely manner. I was regularly updated on the status of the situation and my telephone calls and correspondence were promptly addressed.
I am very satisfied and very highly recommend Priya Sarin, the lawyer who handled my case.
I approached Whitten & Lublin for assistance with regard to review of a termination agreement. I chose the firm after reviewing the information on their website, as well as a number of articles and reviews. The fact that the firm is focused on employment law, their approach and track record all indicated that they were a solid choice.
My experience with the Stephen Wolpert more than exceeded my expectations. Stephen provided information and practical advice that allowed me to make key decisions and resolve identified issues in a timely manner. I highly recommend Stephen and Whitten & Lublin. This is a firm that really gets it right - and that makes a huge difference.
I contacted Whitten & Lublin after my role was eliminated and I was terminated after 25 years of service at my company. Daniel Lublin managed my case with my former employer and indicated the severance offer the company provided was not sufficient for my years of service and my position. He kept me informed and reached out to me for feedback throughout the process. In the end Daniel got me the severance package I deserved and I am extremely happy with result. I would highly recommend Daniel Lublin and Whitten & Lublin to anyone requiring advice or representation from an employment lawyer.
Whitten and Lublin came well recommended and I was impressed right from walking in the door. I had the pleasure of working with Paul Macchione. I needed an ally and happily found Paul to be an attentive listener, very professional, self confident and optimistic. I have already, unreservedly, handed his card out!
It was a pleasure to work with Marc Kitay from Whitten and Lublin. Marc was diligent in answering all my questions and addressing my concerns. Marc guided me through a complex situation and helped me to achieve the best outcome possible. I recommend Marc for all employment related matters.
Whitten & Lublin was recommended to me by an associate and I had the pleasure of dealing with Paul Macchione in negotiating a better employment severance package than what I was offered. Paul was very helpful in explaining my options and what I should expect. I was dealt with in a very timely and courteous manner, and he kept in constant communication with me. I was very pleased with the outcome of Paul's negotiations on my behalf and would recommend him to anyone who needs an employment lawyer. Thank you Paul!
Daniel was extremely professional, right from the initial meeting. He clearly explained the options, and which ones were the most reasonable given my particular circumstances - this I appreciated as this was my 1st time in the situation. Daniel and I worked together on our overall strategy, and he ensured we were in total agreement before he engaged with my former employer. His experience with situations of similar nature to my own did give me confidence as to our overall approach. Throughout the process Daniel and his office staff were very communicative - which my wife and I appreciated greatly ! My questions were answered quickly and thoughtfully. Finally, Daniel and his team were very efficient and effective at assertaining the settlement I was looking for. I'm sure that all circumstances are different, but Daniel and his team really knew how to handle mine in terms of expectation setting with me, and negotiating with my former employer. I'm very pleased with the services and would truly recommend Daniel to other people in my circumstance.
Disappointed with service!!! Stephen Wholpert took my case. He said that he will get it done in $1500. However, he didn't even file a complaint to the opposition within that amount and exhausted $1500 in vain. He and his firm failed to deliver on there claim that we are the best employment law firm. He was asking for more money and when I asked him how much more he said it could be any amount. Honestly speaking the firm is clearly money oriented rather than client oriented. Also, from his initial claim he asked me to back down and provide consensation to the opposition. If you are a reputable firm fighting for the just cause then you will stand with your client no matter how the opposition reacts to the claim. It makes me wonder if the reviews here are true or made up by fake clients created by the firm. Very very disappointed. I would highly recommend people not to waste their hard earned money with this firm.
Daniel Lublin, Athan Makrinos, and the team at Whitten Lublin handled my issue with the utmost professionalism. They were able to resolve my issue in a very timely manner while achieving the best possible outcome for me. I would recommend Daniel and Team to anyone that is in need !
i was referral by a friend to Athan, the lawyer in this firm. He is very knowledgeable and honest. He explained to me my situation and informed me everything that i need to know and I will definitely referral him to my other friends if needed any help!!!
When dealing with your former employer on a severance package, you want to be represented by someone who is responsive, tenacious and knows the law. The employment lawyers at Whitten & Lublin are exactly that. I m very pleased with their guidance and the results they achieved. Daniel Lublin and his team were excellent to work with from the initial consultation to the final settlement. Many thanks!
I was recently in need of a highly experienced employment lawyer to help me with a very challenging, sensitive and complex contract matter. I was referred to David Whitten by another highly experienced labour lawyer who is a friend and was in conflict with the matter. After a quick intro call with David he immediately had me meet with him in person to go through the challenges I had with my employment contract execution. In our first meeting David took the necessary time to listen and ask the right questions to help better access the situation. By the end of the meeting he was able to define a much better path forward to affect a resolution that both addressed my concerns and was fair. Through the entire journey David was a true professional, firm and very consistent. He always made me feel like my matter was top priority in getting resolved which he achieved. He was able to negotiate a great end result from a very challenging and complex situation and it was done in a timely fashion. Excellent negotiation skills! I have worked in the auto manufacturing sector as a senior executive for many years and have had the opportunity to work with some great employment lawyers. If I had to measure David, I would put him at the top of the class and highly recommend him on any employment legal matter especially if you need a tiger to get it done. Outstanding work David and thank you Jamie for the recommemndation.
This law firm is beyond unprofessional and their lack of knowledge is astounding. Don't waste your time or money and go with any other firm. Don't be duped.
What you see in your first meeting... is what you get. I retained Dan but have witnessed both David Whitten and Daniel Lublin in action on separate actions. Both are best described as "legal land sharks" and are more than capable of holding their own against their opponents regardless of their status or however many they bring to the table. They come prepared and don't waste time getting to the nuts and bolts of where they need to be. They're both equipped with rapier whits, a sense of humour and easy to work with. Having witnessed my fair share of Counsellors in the past, these guys are right up there with the best of them.
I recently had an excellent experience with Daniel Lublin of Whitten Lublin and his team. I was in need of an employment lawyer, and immediately thought of Daniel based on his writing in The Globe & Mail. I found his writing straightforward, on-point, logical and client-focused. All of these traits came to life working with Daniel to address an issue I had with a previous employer. In our initial meeting, Daniel asked great questions, truly listened to my response, challenged my thinking and was open to challenge himself. From that conversation, he drafted and executed an approach to my previous employer and their Counsel that was successful. Through this, Daniel's team kept me informed of progress at every step. All that, and he's a good guy as well. Thank you Daniel and team. Cheers!
Simone came highly recommended by a friend and I m so glad that I was able to have her assist me. I had a great experience at a terrifying and vulnerable time. Simone went above and beyond my expectations and helped me reach the best outcome possible.
She equipped me with all the information needed for me to reach my end goal. I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone.
Daniel Lublin concerned himself with representing me, advocating for me, and ensuring that I was treated fairly by my former employer. Daniel is a no-nonsense professional who brings intelligence, insight and honesty to each interaction. He managed my expectations throughout the course of my matter, took my needs to heart, and ultimately shepherded me through an extremely difficult time. His sense of urgency surrounding my matter was comforting and his expertise in navigating a very complex situation was impressive to say the least. I highly recommend his services.
I was referred to Whitten & Lublin by a colleague of mine when I was looking for some employment law advice a couple of years ago, and more specifically to Cedric Lamarche. I can't say enough about how professional and helpful Cedric has been to me in dealing with an employer issue.
I have, because of the fantastic advice and service I received from Cedric on my first visit, sought his counsel on a couple of additional matters, and each time the advice I received has made a world of difference to me. Thank you Cedric for being so knowledgeable and thorough about your legal specialty.
Jason Jagpal was extremely thorough in providing employment law as it now applies in our current climate. He responded quickly and was able to successfully support our needs.
I had the pleasure of working with Sezar Bune, he provided great advice and negotiated a satisfactory severance package with my employer. Sezar was very approachable, empathetic and proactive.
I am so grateful that I was referred to Daniel Chodos and his amazing team at Whitten & Lublin .They were able to handle my case in a timely manner while achieving the best possible outcome. They are professional, honest and fair. They took the time to listen and answer any questions or concerns that I had. Thank you for your excellent customer service and support. Exceptional service
I called Daniel Lublin after my work situation and I'm glad I did. Daniel and his team did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them! Great company! Thanks Daniel!
This was the second time I chose David Whitten and his team to represent me and once again they delivered the result I was hoping for. David met with me immediately to review my case and provided excellent advice and an accurate timeline of what to expect in the process. He is honest and passionate about winning what is fair for his clients. If you're looking for a "David" to take on your "Goliath" then this is your best choice!
I recently worked with Whitten & Lublin for employment settlement. At the beginning, Mr. Seazor was dealing my case who latter on left the organization. But then my case took over by Mr. Jason Jagpal, He settled and completed my case with very professionally and dignity. I am very happy and satisfied with his work
I had the pleasure of talking with Tommy Hong at Whitten and Lublin. Tommy was empathetic and genuinely concerned with what had happened at work. Tommy answered all my questions and was honest in giving me three different options if I wanted to continue on. If I do continue on, I will retain Tommy as my lawyer. Thank you Tommy for helping me. You made me feel better in knowing what my rights are.
Tommy was great and very professional. Office staff treated me with respect and I would definitely recommend Tommy + Whitten and Lublin. Very knowledgable staff.
Priya Sarin is a fantastic lawyer. She negotiated a much improved settlement with my former employer. Priya was very professional, kept me informed at all times and managed to conclude this in a very timely manner, and much to my satisfaction. Use Priya; she will fight for you and get the job done!
