Not a happy experience at all.

Not a happy experience at all.

I came here to look for a entry-level road bike. I had done some research online so I asked for the model I was looking for, which was a Specialized Allez. Instead of taking me to the Specialized bike collection, the staff showed me a carbon frame bike. I was not really looking for a carbon one so I asked if they had any aluminum bike suitable for beginners. The guy was not happy immediately, telling me they didn't carry many aluminum bike here, and aluminum frames are "not being made anymore", basically meaning they are no good. He assumed I was on a tight budget and told his manager I was looking for a $1000 bike, and the manager came to me and said I should stretch my budget, which I didn't actually say. I was looking for a good entry-level bike, not a cheap one. The funny thing was, while waiting for my friend in the store, I found the Allez model myself, which I had no idea was there the whole time. Unfortunately the frame size didn't fit me so I didn't buy it. I should have confronted the staff why he didn't show me that in the first place.

I didn't feel welcomed there at all. Sure, the guy let me have a test ride on the carbon bike he showed me, but he didn't even measure my inseam length or anything and made the seat post long like crazy and I could even sit on the saddle. I was being nice enough and said "thank you" to the guy when returning the bike, but he didn't even look at me and I hot no response. I was a costumer they didn't want.

Not recommend, especially for beginners. They don't have the bike for you and will be rude enough to ruin your passion for cycling.

I can't praise these guys enough. I was in the processes of shopping for a new bike and these fine folks took the time to explain things, helped me get sized for a new bike and made sure I left a happy customer! Most shops you walk into, are nothing like this. A++ for knowledge and service - you guys are awesome and thanks for setting me up with my new Cervelo :-)

Wow, great collection of bikes, decent prices BUT god do they have the WORST and most UNFRIENDLY staff. They might know a thing or two about bikes but they sure look down on you when you walk into the store. To the owner: train your staff on how to engage with new clients, be friendly and show some interest. my money went to another bike store. I won t recommend anyone to this store until things change.

This is the only bike shop in Toronto known to stand behind whatever they sell. They've never said sorry we can't help you if i've had a problem, as many bike shops do. Their head bike mechanic can fix anything, he's known to be the best. Between their inventory and service, they can't be beat in this city. Or, apparently in Canada; I met someone from Ottawa on a cycling trip who chose WOB over any of his local bike shops. He drives in when he needs it serviced.

I'll avoid this place in future and suggest you do the same. As a visitor to Toronto recently I went in and asked if they rent out road bikes, and was told they don't. Fair enough, even if I think they're missing a trick there. But then when I asked which shops do rent out road bikes in the Toronto area, the guy who served me (who was otherwise came across as unfriendly - it wasn't just me, the friend I was with agreed he seemed brusque and offhand) said none of them do. I might not be local but that, as I knew at the time from having done some online searching, is completely untrue. I can't believe that the assistant thought it was true either. So I went down to Gears in Mississauga instead, where I was treated helpfully and courteously, i.e. like my business was of value to them. They rented me a brand-new, never before ridden, Spec Allez for a reasonable price, fitted SPD pedals at my request even though they don't normally do that, and recommended some routes of different lengths in the area. Big thumbs down Wheels of Bloor, for all the place looks from the outside as though it's going to cater to people like me. Go to Gears or Sweet Pete's instead. Also a shout-out to the place just across the street from Wheels (Pop a Wheelie), where my friend was were given lots of useful advice about buying a town bike.

I called and spoke with someone at this bike shop who was very rude. I wanted to understand what bikes they had under $1,500. I disclosed to the associate that it's for my wife and she's 5' 5''. He immediately suggested a size 47 bike. I asked if there was a 53 in stock as well. He abruptly interrupted me and said twice "I can tell you now that won't fit!" I was taken aback by his lack of customer service and pure ignorance.

The back stories are that 1) I had called another bike shop and the associate wanted to know my wife's inseam length and height; and suggested that a couple sizes ranging from 47 to 53 so I knew 47 could not be the correct size without a proper fitting.
2) I actually bought my road bike from Wheels of Bloor in summer 2020 during the pandemic, however, had very little knowledge about road bikes. They sized me incorrectly and as a result, sold me an ill fitting bike. I had a feeling it was not my size because they strongly suggested a smaller size than I had expected. Additionally, after buying the bike size they suggested, I realized the bike seat was too high and I couldn't properly mount and dismount. Overall, my body didn't feel in full control of the bike. Nonetheless, I ended up paying for a proper bike fitting at another bike shop where they spent an entire hour to ensure the bike properly fit. My body felt the difference with the lack of pain in arms and in the cross of my back. During all this time, I would purchase accessories from Wheels of Bloor because I thought my bike purchase was just a one off, everyone makes mistakes. However, it seems like history was going to repeat itself with the associate adamantly wanting me to get a bike size too small for my wife.

Hope this review is helpful and saves someone from a bad bike purchase.

I ve been shopping here for a decade and I love this place! Bought several bikes - BMC and Cervelo for myself and husband. They have always taken care of us, service is awesome.

I recommend this shop to everyone who is looking for a great and fast bike!

I was in this shop for the first time the other day. The staff were all very friendly and the selection of bikes and accessories was crazy! I was in for a bike fitting and will certainly consider them when I am ready to buy my next bike.

Great selection and really friendly staff. I found them super helpful and patient, will definitely be back. I think David was the name of the salesperson that walked me through my options, thank you David!

I had the pleasure of working with David Yoon on 3 purchases (2 lovely bikes and a high-end frame). David was been very professional during the entire process, and has followed up in timely matter. My purchases are a bit more complicated as I'm an out of province buyer - but have been put at ease with great packing, and a commitment to help, should anything go wrong along the way. Thank you David and the Wheels of Bloor team!!!

They have quite a large selection of performance bikes which is why I didn t give them the absolute lowest rating possible. In terms of repairs and interactions with the staff, I think they deserve a zero. I went for repairs twice after buying a bike from them and my conclusion is that staff members are negligent and condescending. I wasn t planning to write a review but after speaking with two women that had similar experiences I thought that I should put this out there. Every bike in the store can be purchased at another shop. I highly recommend you try somewhere else especially if you are looking for something higher end.

I purchased a 3T Exploro from Wheels of Bloor and really enjoyed working with Stephen and the rest of the staff during the whole process. It was my first time visiting the shop and they took the time to give me a tour and provide me with Interesting information about the shops history. They also performed a bike fit and made sure I was happy with everything before I left the shop.

Went into WOB to pick up a new bike and was met by a bunch of friendly, helpful, staff! Amidst the chaos of non-stop customers trying to buy bikes and get bikes fixed during the pandemic, Stephen took his time to help me test ride a number of bikes, get fitted, and choose the right bike. He worked a deal I couldn t resist!
I will be returning to have all my maintenance done there since I trust their opinion and their workmanship.
Highly recommended.

Saw a post online about a bike on sale. Went to go check it out with my mom (for her). Very friendly staff. Had the bike built up. Was able to test ride. We loved it and they also did a bike fit. Exceeded expectations. Shop is also beautiful on the inside. Lots and lots of nice bikes in there.

Excellent service and very focussed on ensuring you have the right bike, right fit and right equipment for you and your style of riding. Plus they had the best prices in town, not to mention an amazing collection. 3 stories of marble tiled floors filled with racks of bikes has made this place a tourist stop for my mates who come to Toronto.

Wheels of Bloor has my unqualified and highest endorsement.

Having cycled competitively for decades while living across the US and Canada, I am a 'frequent flyer' at many bicycle shops and on-line cycling sites.

Wheels of Bloor is at the top of my list for their fair pricing, wide selection, and especially a capable staff with their helpful and positive attitude. I recall one of my first experiences where, as an out of town visitor, I couldn't help but purchase a bicycle because the price was so attractive. Now that I am living in Toronto, they see me frequently.

It is a positive sign that the staff visit on-line competitors. You get globally competitive prices at Wheels of Bloor along with knowledgeable staff, immediate satisfaction and without the hassles of shipping and customs.

Not friendly and unapproachable staff. Super arrogant and felt extremy rushed and unimportant. Bought a bike from the spring show and went in for a fitting. Worst customer service and experience, regret giving them my business. Went down the street afterwards to Browns and talked to JP, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Didnt make me feel belittled or unimportant. Do yourself a favour and dont give wheels of bloor any business. In a world of customer service, these guys dont have it. I know the importance as I manage a retail store myself. Big dissapointment, 0/5 stars. Hope their management sees this. Wake up, treat your customers better.

I bought a road bike recently, and I could not be more unsatisfied.
The first time I walked into the store, I was literally kicked out and told that family bikes were sold across the street.
Since they're the only store near me that sells road bikes and we're in the middle of the pandemic, I went back a second time determined to get a bike.
The staff person who I spoke with suggested one bike, did not let me test ride it, did not fit the bike to me and insisted it was good for me.
Since it felt pretty good just sitting on it, I decided to roll with it. Once home, I tried to lower the seat, and the tightening screw would not go back in. Note that I did not do anything wrong: I did not screw it too hard, or from side to side, etc. I went to the store and the guy told me that I had broken it and charged me $25 for a new seat clamp (the day after my purchase!!). I was also asked 'you already broke it' by the same old, Eastern european man who kicked me out of the store earlier.
On the ride back home, I noticed that the front derailleur wasn't working. I was sold a dud. I'm not willing to go back to the store, as I do not want to give these crooks money to fix the broken bike they gave me, nor do I want the snide comments from the eastern european man.
Horrible experience. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

This is the first time I've been into this shop and they were awesome. I took a bike in for a tune up and since I just inherited this bike, I needed to be fit for it as well. They're pricing is very reasonable and their service was great. Almost a week after I brought the bike in, the guy even remembered my name. The place was incredibly busy when I picked up my bike but they still took the time to have me fitted for it right away because I was in a bit of a hurry.

This will definitely be my bike shop from here on it. Good job folks!

Walked into the store and there were 4 guys huddled around the cash register doing nothing. One guy nonchalantly nodded but didn't walk my way but rather kept talking to the other 3 employees. I walked straight towards them and finally the same guy says can I help you? I got a bad feeling from this kid. He was conceited and thought he knew more than he actually did. He gave a lot of attitude and incorrect information. Rather than call him out on what he was saying I just left the store. I'n not a racist but I know when I am not welcome.

Best shop ever. where's the 6th star? i'll color that in as well.. my goodness what brilliant service and technical knowledge. The head Mechanic ( i think he actually runs the place ) is the best in the city. The salespeople are knowledgeable and i found contrary to some reviews very polite.
