Bobby Scala was easy to work with. He didn't have to sell me very hard because I knew what I wanted. If he had pushed me at all, I wouldn't have made a purchase. Instead, I found the process to be easy and comfortable.
I had a great experience. Maura was extremely helpful in the process of buying my first car. The entire process went very smoothly and everyone I met was very considerate.
They got me in the door from across the metro with their fantastic communication. Quick responses to several rounds of emailed questions of increasing specificity from one salesman convinced me to come in and test drive one of the cars I was interested in.
He wasn't in the office on the day I had some free time so he put me in touch with another salesperson, who was herself very attentive and patient. I came back for a second look at a vehicle that I drove earlier (not the one i was originally interested in) and another vehicle caught my eye, with another round of questions. Test drove that vehicle and immediately wanted to buy it despite not planning on buying that day. So I did.
Had a three and five year old in tow that day, too, which if you've ever bought a car with the financing and all that to deal with isn't the most kid-friendly situation in the world. But everyone we came in contact with in the shop handled their behavior gracefully.
Honestly the best combo of attentive and relaxed i've experienced at any place including Audi and BMW dealers.
Have to mention the finance specialist I was working with was fantastic as well--not at all pushy, took hints immediately, asked insightful questions to tweak my buying options.
Stopped in yesterday for an oil change at the service Xpress . Advertised as no appointment needed and like the quick oil change guys but with Volkswagen parts and technicians. I was told they could get to me in about two hours. Nothing express about that.
Called to see about getting my car serviced. The customer service was rude and completely unhelpful. I will take my car elsewhere.

This is the best dealer I have ever worked with. My experience was unique that I had to return my car 10 days after purchase (due to warrant issue with BMW used car), but throughout the purchase/return process, the dealer (Doug) and his manager (Tom) were very helpful and considerate, I got my trade-in car back along with a full refund for the car I purchased. I honestly could not have believed how smooth the entire process has turned out to be.
I have already started to search their inventory again, hopefully can purchase a different car from Doug.
Another thing good thing is that this dealer adopted a no-hassle pricing policy, initially I did not like it. But it turned out that their pricing is very reasonable, so I am very positive about this policy now.

Waited 3 hours to get an oil change and service decided we should've "made an appointment" for their "Express Service". So we didn't get the oil change or the blower fan looked at.
This has been a LONG process of trying to get my moonroof fixed and a blower fan fixed that's been "whistling" for 3 1/2 years I've owned the car. Now (after warranty, of course) the blower fan is starting to make those "going out" noises. Maybe a bad bearing? When we use the moonroof you'd swear that someone was shaking the whole roof off. They all admit there's a problem, but....
Like the old saying "just don't get sick". Well at Luther Westside Volkswagen - "just don't ask to get things fixed more than once or you'll get beat up".
the 10k mile service really only covers oil change and rotation, but i brought up 4 other minor issues which were all addressed professionally and to my satisfaction.
Ask for Brendan Chamberlin. He's a low-pressure, no B.S. kinda guy. I recommend him. As for Luther Westside, they have a very good selection and turnover vehicles quickly. Be patient if they don't have what you're looking for, it will show up.
While looking for a new car, the service we received from start to finish was top notch. Doug was informative, answered all of our questions, and was excited about his product, but wasn't too pushy. While I have not purchased from West Side Volkswagen before, my in-laws have entirely done so for at least their past 5 cars. I now understand why they kept coming back.

Luther does an excellent job with service even without an appointment. I dropped in to get my wiper motor fixed and the service tech made sure that I would be able to use the wiper until the correct part arrived.

Bought the car & had it shipped to me. I couldn't be happier with my sight unseen purchase. Car was everything that was promised. Helton & Bri were great to deal with.
I'm done with them. I'm sick of being overcharged for service - especially being charged for design-failure diagnostics - and now worse: being lied to, both of which happened today.
I won't buy another Audi-VW (finally learned my lesson after five of them), and I definitely won't go to Luther again for sales or service.

When we arrived, we began looking for a used vehicle. A salesman approached in our direction, when we called over to him he appeared to be inconvenienced. We then explained the vehicle we had seen online and proceeded to head inside. After he had found the vehicle and brought it to us from their parking ramp, we asked for the Carfax report. When I looked it over I noticed inconsistencies. The mialage was wrong, and the previous owner had done very little maintenance. I explained this and the car salesman Rick, began to argue with me. After the frustrating attitude I decided I didn't want to purchase or even test drive the vehicle. Which seemed to aggravate him more. Rick was the rudest salesman I ever met and won't be returning.
Recently purchased a Mazda CX5 from this dealership. I personally hate car shopping because most sales people are just working to get their commission, this experience was very different. Helton wanted to make sure the car would work for me. He was very understanding with my silly questions and gave me a great "dad" speech about not loosing or laundering my new keys (I've never had keyless entry before) that didn't make me feel like he was talking down to me, instead it simply felt like he cared and wanted to ensure I had a good experience. He stayed late to help me finish my sale and even helped set up my phone into the cars system! I almost hate recommending him to others, because then he might be busy the next time I go to buy a car, but you truly should stop by to see what they have to offer and work with this great employee! Lets start with the online hours not being the real hours. It says open until 9:00 on google but I got here at 6:57 and was told to leave so that they could close in 3 minutes (they actually close at 7:00). I called before coming here to ask for a price to get a new wheel put on my car. The woman put me on hold for several minutes only to tell me literally no useful information, at which point I hung up and drove here to find out it was all a massive waste of my time because again, the listed hours are wrong. I was also quoted $430 for a single rim which I then bought online for less than a quarter of that. What kind of markup is that?? You're the manufacturer, thats not cool.

I did some research on TrueCar for an Atlas I was looking for and the next day David A reached out to me from Westside Volkswagen. After a few texts we arranged an appointment to see the vehicle I was interested in, when I arrived David A already had the vehicle pulled and ready to test drive just as we drove into the lot. David was very informative and helped us weigh all options with very little pressure. I would highly recommend Westside Volkswagen and particular David A if you are looking for a new vehicle.
I worked with Mikhail (sorry if spelling is off) and he was amazing. I had driven VW in the past and bought a dodge and just needed to enjoy driving again (which meant VW, leather and a sunroof). I researched and found the Golf that I wanted. I also wanted to test drive a jetta just for comparison. When we arrived the vehicles we were interested in were right out in front and everything was ready for us. He took the time to answer my 100 questions and was very knowledgeable. He doesn't just sell the cars you can he truly loves Volkswagens. The buying process was smooth. I had gotten pre approved from my bank for a great rate and they were able to finance me at an even lower rate. I bought the Golf, they filled up the tank and sat in the car with me and showed me every feature including helping me set up my phone to the blue tooth. I absolutely love my Golf, enjoy driving it and feel like I know how to use all of the many features it came with because they took the time to show me. I wasn't rushed and it was honestly no pressure. In 10 years when I want another VW this will be my first stop. Thanks guys!!
Very nice, as far as dealerships go. Their waiting area is very comfortable, and stocked with creature comforts like snacks and coffee. I really only go here if I need some kind of warrantied work on my vehicle, and I appreciate that the staff isn't pushy about up-selling me things I don't want. Tao Thao is my favorite service representative.

Mikhail Lemishenko was great in assisting us with our purchase. We felt he had our best interest at heart. He has also kept in touch and has followed up with all of our concerns after the purchase. We did end up buying a certified used car which we have never done before. So far, really like it! We love that its under warranty for 2 years. Westside gave us much more for our trade in value than Volkswagon Burnsville, which made us very happy. All around a great experience and would definitely return for our next purchase.
Have to agree with everyone else's reviews about David A. My wife and I were looking for a 3-row SUV and looked at pretty much every brand out there. We ended up stopping in on a Saturday and by chance got paired up with David. He was extremely welcoming and personable to deal with. He went above and beyond what we were looking for and we ended up going with the Atlas over the other brands. It has been just over three weeks of ownership and have loved it. I needed a used car for my daughter--her first--as well as a vehicle that could take the place of my totaled minivan for carrying things around. (BTW, I was rear-ended--not my fault:)). I had heard from friends that Helton was someone I could trust and that he had excellent attention to detail. I chose to shop at this dealership because of his reputation.
Helton talked with me about my requirements and showed me some cars that he thought might be suitable for me. Although I liked some of them, I didn't love any one of them. Helton didn't pressure me to settle. THAT was refreshing!!! Instead, he told me he would keep an eye for a car that would be perfect for me. It wasn't long before he called me to come back to the store. He had five more options for me to evaluate. I like two of them very much. Again, Helton was patient with me as I tried to decide which car was best. I decided on a car, bought it, and have been very happy with it. I bought a warranty, but I haven't had to use it because the car has been very reliable. I definitely had a great experience here and with Helton, and will recommend it to my friends
This was my first time here. Scheduling the appointment for my recall repair was super easy on their website. Quick service, very friendly, great amenities while I waited, modern and clean facilities, and they even cleaned the exterior of my car! Overall very professional and positive experience.

Horrible experience. They absolutely do not care about the guest.....only the sale. I tried to complain to the sales manager, but he chose to blame the sales person, the credit manager, then corporate VW, and ultimately said he was to busy to provide proper service. There are many other VW dealerships in the Twin Cities that are straight forward and don t use deceptive sales techniques.
I have always owned my cars, so this was a first time lease experience for me. Nothing I dislike more than buying cars and the whole experience. I have to admit that Brad from VW was excellent and not pushy. Super knowledgable about the cars and made me feel at ease. Did not hound me after and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend him again.
My only issue with the whole process was not being told about the "extra" 2 wear & tear packages etc. I was really trying to hit a certain budget number, so it would have been nice to know up front before we made a "sales price agreement". I almost walked out, but decided to proceed. I am in sales, and transparency is key and I felt this step could have been handled better. Lesson learned on my part.
Will I be back? I have 3 years to get over that and drive a beautiful car. If the car performs as advertised and we decide on another VW absolutely! Brad was great and the dealership is professional.
We Purchased a car earlier this month, at the time we traded in our previous vehicle. During the sign off the business manager assured us that the balance for the trade-in car will be paid off within a week (otherwise I would automatically incur the monthly payment). To date the balance is yet to be paid off, I have emailed the business manager and are awaiting a response. The second reason for the one star rating is that on the same night that I purchased the car, the car would not start. I called and left a message to the sales associate that helped me and had to call again the next morning to talk to him. The sales associate recommended that I call a local tow truck to jump start the car and to take them the receipt whenever I was in the area. This option was simply no acceptable, as I had purchased the extended warranty given the lengthy explanation from the business manager as to why it was important to only have VW certified mechanics servicing my car. In addition, we didn't know what was wrong with the car. Needless to say, I had to talk to the general manager and after a long conversation they did send a VW mechanic and a loaner car (while they fixed the new car). VW did fix my car but the whole experience has been sour.
Specifically went to Westside to purchase my car from Helton. This is the 4th car we have purchased from him. He knows what he is talking about, super personable and great to work with. If you are looking for a used VW go see Helton!
I have just picked up my 2017 Jetta GLI three days ago and couldn't be happier, not only with the car, and with the way I was treated by the entire staff at Westside. My dealings with the sales, finance and managers couldn't have been better.
Maura did another fabulous job! This is my 11th VW but only my 2nd with Maura, too bad I didn't meet her earlier in my car buying experience. She always does right by me. I am very happy with Westside VW and my 2018 Tiguan!
I will never buy or recommend VW to anyone, I bought a certified used jetty and last year bought in in for A/C issues, the tech put a bandaid on the issue and now that my warranty is done it's a $1200 issue, spent over 2 hours there and 45 min on VW customer service to find out Luther Westside lied to Volkswagen so they wouldn't have to cover the expense of the repair saying it was a different issue when it's the same exact issue. Stay away from Westside luther and VW in general, they are shady and lie.
I was looking to lower my monthly car payment, and an advertised lease deal on Westside VW's website prompted me to make a call and inquire about the specifics on pricing. I got great information on pricing over the phone, but was unable to figure out some of the other details without first bringing my current car in for an appraisal. I had been shopping around for trade in values on my MINI, figuring that I was going to base my decision on leasing a Mazda 3 or a VW GTI, depending on how much I was offered on my trade in by those dealers, respectively.
I went to the dealership on Thursday afternoon to test drive a GTI. When I returned from my test drive, they had appraised my MINI, and their trade in offer was the highest offer I had received - far above Motorwerks MINI (where I bought my car originally), and also higher than Morrie's Mazda, where I was looking at the 3. I said "let's do it, where do I sign?" - and that was that.
The entire experience was great from start to finish. Kurt, the salesman to whom I was referred was friendly and personable. He even threw in two Volkswagen t-shirts from their parts department, which was one of those "above and beyond" things that don't always happen. It's those little touches that would urge me to recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a new Volkswagen (or even a pre-owned car) - and it certainly means that they've gained me as a (hopefully) longtime customer. My only regret is that I hadn't come to this dealership to look at a GTI sooner.

Have been in research for a new compact sedan for a few years, my old car needing replaced. Stopped in a Luther and strolled around the new vehicle division, and then strolled across to the used side. Brian Sommer met me in the lot and showed me 3 separate used Jetta models with similar features and price took the most appealing one for a test drive. Ultimately I went with a year-old factory certified GLI manual, which I am very happy with and is in great condition. The whole process was painless, and the sales department was very cordial and helpful. No pressure whatsoever and a pleasant overall dealership experience. I highly recommend this dealership based on my limited time with them.

Our relationship with Westside started in 2005, my wife was looking for an AudiTT. They had the best price on a great used one, best in town. Buying experience was great. We still have the AudiTT and have bought two Jeeps, two CLK's, from them over the years. Still have one Jeep and yesterday bought a very nice Audi S5 controvertible. The point is that over the years they have always been there with any problems to be fixed, and have good price points on their cars. Gervona Lynn was just a super nice sales person this last time, not just with the paper work but setting up the Bluetooth etc. in the car. When you have such nice service over so many years, it's not by accident, it's how they run their shop. I tell anyone they are the place to go.
The staff is great. They are easy to do business. I recommend them to everyone.
Just a quick note... I RARELY give feedback online but felt I needed too on my new car purchase. My sales rep Maura might be the perfect salesperson. She is super nice, not pushy, has probably forgotten more about cars than I will ever know and she has sold me my last three (or four?) vehicles. Was in and out in a flash and LOVE my new Golf sport wagon. I have always been a Volkswagen fan because they make fantastic driving machines. But where you buy your car is important too and I can honestly say I am a Huge Luther Westside fan.
