What looks like a great little demonstration farm,...

What looks like a great little demonstration farm, is also a great place to wander through the woods and fields and experience a pristine natural environment. Bring your little ones here to meet all the farm animals, like chickens, cows, goats, lamas, pigs, and even a horse. There are also bunnies, ducks, and a goose. Inside the office you will find snakes, lizards, and frogs. But that's only half the farm. Manicured gardens stretch 100s of feet to the back of the field. There you will find paths the meander past ponds and a brook and into a small forest hidden within this West Hartford treasure. This place loses a star since I can't bring my dogs to walk along the paths with me. Picnicking is also not allowed. These restrictions are mainly to protect the animals that live here and are also why this park tends to be the most well kept in terms of litter. If you live nearby, you should certainly visit this hidden gem.

Grew up with this place and now my children get to enjoy it too. Nature trails, gardens, and a ton of farm animals (close animal interaction unavailable during pandemic) get over there before it's too cold!

This little gem is tucked behind Bishops Corner but you would never know the commercial area is right around the corner while you re at the park. It s peaceful and beautiful with well maintained gardens and walking paths. Aside from the farm animals, the park is alive with wild turkeys, turtles, bunnies, song birds and water birds. It s a wonderful place to visit no matter your age!

My grandparents were (are) farmers. Growing up on the farm and around the animals was a priceless experience, in retrospect. There s something to be said for a more simple (not easier!) life.

Appreciate what you have, give thanks for what s to come... and it s amazing that Westmoor Park opens their doors to the public. And thanks to charitable donations, the Westmoor experience is available free of charge.

I never knew this place existed, until I looked up farms nearby on Google Maps. I love Westmoor Park. It s great to see the animals roam around and enjoy themselves. They have a barn cat, that walks around the property, it is very friendly. It s very peaceful and relaxing to visit the park. They have educational classes and demonstrations with the animals. I look forward to coming here in the spring.
