The nicest part about this hotel is the lobby. The rooms are very understated. You can definitely find better value elsewhere. They nickle-and-dime you for everything, and the service is sub-par. If you don t need to be near the heart of Times Square, I would discourage you from booking a room here.

Do not stay here they take 400 pound off my card for a security deposit fair enough but taking 3 different transactions out of my bank at 3 different times is a joke then tell me I have to wait 4 weeks to get it back. kept asking for tea the kept saying it would be brought to the room on 3 different occasions and it never came. Staff are rude and aggressive and can't even book you a taxi to the airport. Oh and do not got to the foundry for breakfast 40 dollars a head for a cold breakfast you wouldn't feed your dog. We were in a deluxe room and thought it would be a lot better city amazing but we have stayed in fair cheaper accommodation around the usa and got a lot better service.

Shiny on the surface, TERRIBLE customer service. At first sight, the Westin New York Times Square looks like a great hotel. We stayed here in August 2017 for a conference. The rooms were clean and the space was well laid out. My complaint is with the terrible customer service. Because this was a work-related conference where I was sharing a room, I asked to have my card added to the room account so we could split costs at check-out. The Reception desk told me they were not doing that at the time and would add my card at check out. I asked if that would cause any issues since there were three of us looking to split and she said it was no problem at all. Fast forward to check out, and I have an extremely early flight. When I go downstairs to check out and catch a cab, I discover they have chosen then to re-boot their system and can not access anything for my check out for at least 30 minutes. I need to use my company card to avoid reimbursement hassles so I ask if I can phone it in since I am on my way to the airport, which the desk clerk couldn't answer, other than to say she didn't think they could do that but I could call and try. Her only solution was that I leave my friend to pay the bill and just pay her back. This doesn't work when you're trying to use your corporate account.

I call and of course they refuse to take the card over the phone. They offered no alternative solutions to the problem they created. I asked for a supervisor and was told that no one would be available until Monday. I sent an email to their Customer Relations and received no response at all. This was terrible. It was the most straight forward arrangement for making payments and they're refusal to take my card at the beginning coupled with their poor timing to reboot the system created a problem that could easily be fixed. I do not recommend this hotel for business travel. I have never encountered such poor planning and execution from a hotel that hods itself as being good for conferences, nor such terrible and inept responses to a problem that was their own creation. I am very disappointed in their refusal to respond to my email.

Somewhat of a tired hotel - they have tried to renovate it, but less than perfectly successfully in some areas (paint overrun on door handles, etc.) and some parts seem quite worn (dents in wall, peeling wall paper, caulking for tiles coming up, etc.). The staff has been pretty good.

Had a press briefing in Gershwin and Manhattan rooms. Nice accommodations and everything, but the faucets in the bathrooms don't have warm water, which means washing your hands is like dipping them in a glacier

Terrible management. I had an issue and it took me 4 attempts to get the problem resolved. Two separate managers got involved and neither apologized nor cared about the issue. Won't be staying here going forward.
[Edited] Management called me back and took ownership of the issue. Not thrilled but happy to give the hotel another chance.

I stayed at this location for 3 days. Had good interactions with the employees from the check-in to check-out time. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but did see stains on the curtains. Room was cleaned and new towels were placed in the bathroom every day. Room had a small fridge with drinks and snacks you can buy, also a small safe is available. Close to Times Square and walking distance to other attractions and restaurants.

Service and staff were kind and friendly. Rooms kept clean and the beds are so incredibly comfortable! The restaurant downstairs is wonderful, I highly suggest their burgers! The walls keep out a large amount of the traffic noise.

I really had high hopes for this hotel but I was disappointed. The service was bad, there so call on site restaurant only had sandwiches and alcoholic beverages (to me it's more of a lounge/bar than a restaurant). The only good thing about this place is the location, but it's not worth it.

I had a great experience at the Westin, the staff were very friendly and helpful the whole time. The room was comfortable, and pretty much what you'd expect from a hotel that caters to business travelers.

Good location for tourists, but as I was there on business, the location just meant clogged streets. Reserved a king bed room, but got 2 doubles on a low floor. Gold status won't get you far here. Noise was not an issue, and room was mostly clean (one stain on white curtains and bedspread), but no restaurant /room service was annoying. I'll stay here again only if the other Starwood hotels are booked up.

Westin hotel are always pretty great, and this one lives up to that expectation. Usually I'd only drop a 4 star but what really stood out to me was the staff at this location. Everyone was friendly, and went above and beyond to do little things that made a big difference. For example, Casey, the fellow at the front desk who checked me in, remembered my name when I came back to ask for extra toothpaste. The bellhops who stored my luggage helped me find it after I lost my ticket and joked with me while I waited for a cab. I would not only stay here again but recommend it to others.

When our second flight on the way back home from Iceland got cancelled and we were briefly stranded, we grabbed this hotel and decided to take a day in NYC. Maybe it was that my wife and I had been living in a campervan in Iceland for two weeks that made us feel this way: but the bed was SO comfortable, and the room was very nice. The staff was also very professional and the hotel was very clean.

The room, the views and the location was beautiful...

The room, the views and the location was beautiful. But the staff, the extreme inconvenience with booking, and the interactions with 'management' was horrible! Let's start with the story behind the booking - I had a employees birthday party and I was taking all of my small business employees to the city to celebrate on the top. I booked the biggest suite on a third party site, so I thought I'd give a call and speak to someone at the front desk and tell them what's going on. The first thing I said was that I was having a get together with my employees and one of my employees would need to check in. They would not allow me to put another name on the room so I had to call the third party company change the reservation. So right after that I called front desk again and said I want to give you my credit card to put the hold on the room (I already paid in full on third party site). They said I couldn't do that. I told them that I was not going to have one of my employees take out their credit card for something the business was going to pay for. They sent me to the management. The manager was very nice and said he'd email over a credit card authorization form. Two days later - still no email. So I called again and went through the same process. I was told I could not do it. They sent me over to the manager, I left a message and no one ever called back. I called back the next day, went through the process yet again, this time the manager answered and I told my entire story. That I was having a get together with a few employees, on and on. He said that's great, I'll send over the form. Within two minutes it was in my inbox - sent it in and it was all set. Now my employees arrived on a Saturday at the Westin around 5:30 and the birthday-employee and I arrived at 8:30. We had someone from management/security come upstairs at 9:30 about a noise compliant. The employee who spoke to us was VERY rude. Telling us that 'there are more than 4 people in there and if he comes back up that everyone is out!' So I turned the music down to a soft background noise and we all lowered our voices while we finished getting ready. Less than fives minutes later another guys with the first 'management' standing behind him came up and was a lot nicer and a lot more professional about it. He said that a lot of people around our room was in the New York Marathon. But what makes me upset is that I expressed a employee's birthday get together to EVERY SINGLE employee/management I spoke to during booking process, during the five plus phone calls, and during the phone conversation the day before and day of the stay. I communicated everything to everyone! There were many rooms still available on our floor let alone other floors. Because of the hardship of booking and speaking to so many managers I would have assumed they would have put us at one side of the floor or away from other guests. I will not be staying here again. The front desk was not informative, the management did not take in our plans into consideration / nor did they call back ever, and the first management/security staff member was very rude and should be retrained on how to speak to guest. Especially a guest who just spent $1000 a night for their room. So disappointed in this hotel!

Very greatful to have visited. The fruit bar was absolutely 'sweet'. That's unlikely in most hotels AND even in some restaurants. The rest of the menu exceeded my expectations...again, thank you. Oh, and secirity do an excellent job.

A modern and comfortable right I the midst of times square. Spacious lobby one level above the street. Rooms are a little more spacious than I expected. No bedside charging station but an outlet was next to the bed.

Great location. Just three blocks from Hell's Kitchen restaurant row, one block from Time's Square, one block or less to theatres, four blocks to the water, 15 blocks or so to Central Park and a short cab ride to World Trade/ Financial District. Subway and bus stations nearby and plenty of taxis in the area. There is a 24hr Duane Reade pharmacy across the street that also sells beer and wine if you want to avoid the pricey mini bar or hotel restaurant.

The location is great. Near to Shake Shack, Musicals, subway, Bus depot, spehora, bubba gum, cha, etc. The rooms are ok depending on the rate. Stayed at the junior suite at LVL 15 club floor. Rooms are not renovated. Stayed again on level 20 whereby the rooms seems to be renovated. Front office employees are not so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast at foundry is nice but can be full at times so there might be a wait. The servoce staff and their manager is very friendly and busy making sure everyone gets to be seated.

I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is modern and is in a fantastic location. We walked to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Central Park and many other places. The bed was comfortable, we had a cool view and the staff was nice. A continental breakfast was also included with our stay, which I appreciated. This is in the heart if NYC so know you may hear cars honking until the wee hours but that is part of the experience. Housekeeping could have been a little better-- but I would stay here again.

Excellent location!

Excellent location!
Both the bus terminal and the subway are a short walk away.
The theater is also nearby and convenient.
It's lively and it's okay during the night.
At night, the room's card is presented and security is solid.
There was a sightseeing bus from the side and a THE RIDE bus stop from the back street.
The room is large and the bed is large.
There are two types of showers, and the water pressure is sufficient.

Wonderful, comfortable beds, plush linens. Friendly, accommodating front desk staff. HOWEVER. The frig in room can't be touched. Well, unless you want to be charged for the items you're looking at. We had to request another frig so medication could be chilled! They actually brought up ANOTHER frig and tried to charge an extra $20. UNBELIEVABLE. It was deducted from our tab - already 30% inflated due to unannounced and vague taxes. Ugh. Beware. No microwave either. Beautiful hotel, central at Times Square, location terrific. Junior's Restaurant nearby and Lillie's Victorian Pub were great finds and great food.

Here for a conference. Modern, clean, and run by professionals. The facilities are on the high end. The building is shockingly large in scale and roomie with vaulted ceilings. I was impressed with what they offer and would return for future engagements.

The room clean lady was very rude. If you needed some sleep-ins and didn't let her in, she will unlock the door and leave it open, while you're still inside the room.

All the neighbors next to you could see and hear what's going on from your room.

Very uncomfortable experience.

The service is terrible at the front desk!!! Rude no hospitality at all and the front desk manager was a total sarcastic jerk, because he couldn t check me in-and my 3 daughters in until my husband finished his business meeting at 10:00pm. He laughed and was condescending because the reservation was under my husbands name. He said too bad you are his wife but the reservation is not under your name. I understand they have policies but they handle it wrong like a 1 start hotel!!!
The are charging for the location which isn t really that great it s actually in 8th ave still not the safest location! Do not be fooled by the pictures as only the lobby is renovated and the rooms are tiny and dated!!
I got a horrible room and view of dirty roofs.. lol
I was in NY fir 7 days and stayed at the lotte palace the first few days, I suggest you pay a little more and stay in a hotel that s actually 4 stars at least.
The front desk people are sloppy dress and one of them had a dirty oversized jacket and open belt and shoes that he wore as slippers!! Yes!!! I m sorry if you re going to Charge like a high end hotel please
Have a dress code for the front desk employees!!
I would never stay there or recommend it to anyone else!!
There re tons of hotels in NYC for the same price that can offer you a kind and hospital stay!!
