Best views, great staff, nice rooms, convenient location to all the fun stuff (easy walk), great buffet and brunch, in-house bar, it's quiet, on and on!...but no pool at this location. Our kids were a bit pissed but hey, they're not paying ha! A pool is available in a sister hotel about 3 blocks away if needed.
Could not ask for better people who care about quality... Sherron and V... deserve a lot of credit for their managerial and hospitality shown to guests.... I'll stay where ever I know these ladies are keeping guard. ... management was great. ... customer service phone ladies need development work
Great location close to the Quarter but not too close. There is a small mall attached. Rooms were spacious and had a great view of the Harbour
Location is great, views to the river are fantastic, hotel is clean. My complaint, which is significant, is that I booked a room with 2 beds for 4 people, only to arrive and find out that there are NO queen beds in the entire hotel, all the rooms with 2 beds have full size beds! And to make matters worse, they will not out a cot in a room with 2 beds. Also, the valet told us that valet is $40 a day and self park is $30. In reality, self park was $25 and valet was $45 and they charge $5 tax/day on top of that. Had I known I was paying twice as much for valet, I would have parked myself.
There is no in-house parking, its either valet or self parking in the mall building.
We came in at 10pm, and the check-in was prompt, reception is friendly.
Our 2 beds room is spacious, but there is no sofa, making the place looks empty. Bed is too high, it might pose a problem for senior guests, and there are no electric plugs beside the beds. Wi-fi in the room is not free, and only applicable for 3 devices. Bathroom has no toothbrushes, razors or combs, but plenty of towels, and it is clean and bright.
Location is great, about 10mins walk to french quarter, and there is a shopping mall down, casino right across the building, and it's located across Mississippi river where we can take ferry across to algiers. Concierge is very helpful and informative.
My husband and I loved the room very clean and the front desk receptionist Greta was wonderful and extremely helpful! Thanks Greta
Very nice hotel, very close to the French Quarter with nice rooms and on the river. Great views and pet friendly too. Close to the Audubon aquarium.
The rooms are spacious and very well decorated. The television is larger than normal and the hotel is across the street from the casino. I'm very impressed .
It was a nice place. I stayed there as part of a wedding.
Problem with reservation but made things right after speaking with manager. Good location. Great view. Too long await at check in.
Lovely river view, great location near lots of landmarks, and attractive, clean rooms! Family-friendly but also seems to have a lot of amenities for those without kids. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We would stay there again.
Great hotel. No issues, even provided free water during the boil water advisory
Location was good but rooms were poor. Room smelled moldy and ac temp would not go below 78 degrees. Ate at the restaurant for breakfast ($54 for two) and they advertise "eggs your way". What you got were an old pan of scrambled powdered eggs, an empty ( for over an hour) pan of eggs frittata, bruised grapes, and a waffle press with burnt crisps. Staff seems to care, but the hotel is old and tired. The restaurant should be ashamed of itself!
Didn't really get a good look at it because I spent all of my time in the ballroom at a party.
Good hotel not fancy but is a good place to sleep and watch tv
The hotel location is nice. It's right by the river and my room has an awesome view of the riber and the French Quarter. The front desk people are polite. Good breakfast options. The only downside is the hotel is a bit old. If you are looking for a nice modern hotel this might not be the one.
Wow. This hotel was unbelievable! The lobby is absolutely beautiful with an incredible view of the river. The location is perfect, right next to the French Quarter and there are a million places to have a great time. It's also conveniently located next to the casino if you want to try and win some money. The staff is friendly and the rooms are excellent with comfortable beds and great views. Also, check out the rooftop pool!
The room is very large in a beautiful view over the river
Staff very professional. Rooms beautiful & exceptionally clean. Food in restaurant was tasty & reasonable. Meeting rooms bright & spacious. Great place for a conference.
Hotel location is AWESOME! Such easy walking access to the French quarter. The hotel itself is very clean with great views of the city or river.
Excellent views of the river and the city!! My room was large, clean and very cozy. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful. However, it is a little dated. The furnace was blowing some kind of black ash into one of the meeting rooms and the elevators made some pretty scary noises.
Awesome room & Beautiful views!! Only complaint was that they only had decaf coffee in our room. We called room services and they brought us 8 packs of coffee. We tipped them & thanked them!! Only problem was the next morning we realized they brought us 8 decaf packs%@#!
Great location. Walking distance to everything including Bourbon Street. Rooms could use a coat of paint. Mattresses are worn and sagging in the middle (mine was at least).
Stayed at this hotel for a vacation. Absolutely loved it. Location couldn't have been better for our plans. The Harrahs casino was right across the street and had a great buffet ($30). We bought 2 Gray Line Tours through Expedia (Airboat Adventures/Natchez Dinner Cruise) and our hotel was only a few blocks away. The French Quarter and Bourbon St were a small walk away. Our rooms were very clean and spacious. In exchange for skipping daily housekeeping we received $5 vouchers to use for food. I must say i was disappointed at the lack of in-room fridge and no continental breakfast/ wifi but I still rate them 5 stars
Would have given it more stars.but they are under construction
Room was clean. But there was a smoker near by us bc I could smell the smoke even though it was non smoking. More of a guest problem really I guess. Mandatory paid parking. Complimentary water that's $3 a bottle.
We got upgraded to a top floor room. It is super nice and all staff are pleasant.
Our stay at the Westin was fabulous. Harrahs' casino is practically outside the door from the hotel and bourbon street is a short walk (6 minutes). It's close, but not so close that you get all the noise at night. What really MADE our stay was the amazing hospitality provided by Greta! She was fantastic! As soon as we approached the check-in desk we were greeted with a warm smile. Greta is personable, accommodating and genuine. August is quite a full month for us as we're celebrating our anniversary, birthdays and helping some younger siblings with their college move-ins. Greta went above and beyond to help us celebrate this happy occasion. We could not be more pleased with the service provided at the Westin. We would definitely stay here again!
Great access to the French quarter and Bourbon Street, walking distance from the WWII museum. Very clean and modern, friendly helpful staff
I would give it no stars if possible. We just checked out and immediately realized we left a watch - it was expensive but more importantly it was a gift and very sentimental. They sent a guy to the room and immediately called down and said there was no watch there. We only had one small bag with us and both recalled the watch being on the nughtstand. They front desk was completely rude and unhelpful about the situation. Clearly the guy who went to the room is now the owner of a very nice watch. So very discouraging that a company would care so little about their customers while allowing their employees to blatantly steal and lie. We've left things by accident before and never had this problem. This ruined what should have been a great weekend.
The only thing this place has going for it is the location and views of the Mississippi, and the staff is awesome. Other than that it's the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, even Motel 6 is nicer. They charge extra for everything, from parking ($30-$42/day), internet access, and even if you want a tiny fridge or microwave in your room. Stayed for a week on business and 3 out of 6 days I didn't even have hot water to take a shower, which was unbelievable. Rooms are dated and the beds aren't much better than sleeping on a board. Won't ever stay there again even if my company is paying for it.
Nice place, well located. Expensive parking, no complementary WiFi, Rooms ok. Five stars for people at front desk..!!!!
Overall a quality stay near everything. Only negative: no fridge in rooms unless you request it and pay extra
Great location, walking distance to everything!!!! Super comfortable beds!! Nice and clean hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay here again.
My favorite parts of this hotel were the gym and the toilet on the 11th floor.
Great location and view. Walk to French Quarter, casino, convention center, Riverwalk, etc.
Customer service the meal was outstanding the steak was one of the best bone-in New York strip steaks
Stayed at the Westin this past weekend, First we did not get the charge we was quoted on the reservation after checking out, my card was charged 2 times. When we called the front desk and the person told us she would have it reversed. We called back later to find out she didn't have the authority to do that and she never reported this to the accountant department. The accountant department only says sorry. With all the fraud going on, now the motel is stealing from us. This is the place we always stay when we go to New Orleans. We will find another motel to stay from this point on
Well location is key and this place holds the key! Perfectly located for all the hot spots
You come to NOLA for! The rooms are great and ac controls let you do just that.... control it! Plus there! I can hear the train right now but not bad ( it is the business district ). Beds great and room is nice.. the parking didn't accommodate my truck. Lifted nissan titan and I had to use a parking lot. It's close to the hotel, Real close but I feel if they can't accommodate your vehicle that's a blow. The valet did they hard to get me in one across from valet entrance but the were full. I did see another hotel that had a nice garage and in it a truck bigger than mine. All in all it's a great place with a nice view! I would stay here again because the good out weighs the bad.
Loved it!
Except for the size of the beds. We were in a room with what we thought was going to be 2 queen beds but it ended up being 2 full beds. Way smaller than expected. Other than that I loved the hotel, dining, and location! The elevator situation is weird but not an issue really. The staff was also incredibly helpful.
I had a great visit to the Westin. The only but major drawback was the amount of noise and disruption caused by the fraternity convention that was going on. Lisa Bryan is the employee of highlight during my trip. She was attentive , knowlegable, and readily available to assist with any of my concerns. She as an employee gives 5 star service and should be commended.
The bed's are unbelievably comfortable and the breakfast was great.
The interior design is beautiful. The staff were all polite and friendly. Located conveniently close for shopping and night life.
Great for a conference. Should consider special parking rates for locals to attend conferences there. $42 a day for a local to park is not that great. Otherwise it is amazing venue for a conference.
We ve stayed here for years. Great staff, they even remember us. But some changes not liking. The room is great with a great view, and a mini-fridge. But there s only one desk chair, no cushy chair. And the thinnest excuse for a blanket on the bed. So I asked for a real blanket. The staff came immediately with 3 more incredibly thin blankets. It s an easy walk to some fantastic restaurants, which I suggest because the food here is mediocre.
The staff was very nice. Room had hair all over the bathroom, room smelled like weed. They had to change our room. The guy who came up even stated wow that's strong. No laundry area to dry ours cloths from the rain. Don't eat the breakfast it's typical motel free breakfast buffet but not free and very expensive. Save your money stay someplace else.
Nice convent to you French quarter small fridge no microwave in room nice bedding.
Really friendly staff! The concierge, Pierre i think was his name? is SUPER helpful and gave us some great recommendations that weren't touristy. If you're not sure where to start go chat with him!
The only bummer was that the kitchen was not staffed for late night room service which sucks because drunk people like to eat... but then again there's always Uber Eats now!
LOCATION was amazing! Not too far from Bourbon St. & the French Quarter. Also located next to a nice mall which was major BONUS!!!
Nice place but might be ready for renovation soon? I stayed here on way home after volunteering in Texas with the hurricane Harvey response and was really really looking forward to nice hotel stay! Honestley, I was a bit disappointed & didn't feel place quite upto what I'd expect from westin - but it might be just NOLA as I know lots of people come there to party which I am sure takes a toll on place and the Westins back east coast that I'm used to are more upscale businessy - still NOLA is fun and I was happy enough would stay again as great location & views!!!
This is a lovely hotel where you can pay extra for a view of the river, it was worth it. It's in the French Quarter so it is pretty much walking distance to everything. The bar and bartenders are amazing.
A 4 Star Hotel? I'd hate to see what a 3 star hotel looks like!
Just to start, the bathrooms in the main lobby were filthy and had no paper towels OR toilet paper. EVERY toilet was clogged and overflowing except one in BOTH the female and male bathrooms, and the one that wasn't clogged had no toilet seat liners or toilet paper and the lock was busted.
The bathroom in the room had a cockroach in it and a pile of purple/black hair in the tub.
If this was a two star hotel, I'd deal.
If this was a three star hotel, I'd be a little disappointed but not surprised.
But a four star hotel? I don't think so.
The only saving graces were the man at the front desk was cordial, the view from the lobby is spectacular, and the shower heads are amazing... just avoid the cockroach.
This is my partner and I s experience at the Westin near Canal St. in New Orleans. It s riddled with dirty bathrooms, an incompetent manager and over worked staff.
My partner and I reserved two nights, December 30 and 31st weeks ago. The large payment went through and we printed off our confirmation.
We approached the front desk at check in. Mary, an over worked and only front desk worker at 8pm, was swamped with a long line. She types in my partners name and wanted to confirm we were leaving the next day. We politely corrected her and showed the printed confirmation.
She made a call to who we assume was her manager and with a few clicks said the mishap was cleared. We were given our keys and went to our rooms.
When we arrived into our room, we immediately noticed the bathroom had not been adequately cleaned. Towels were refreshed but the floor and bathtub had hair and dirt all over.
I called the front desk to ask them to send someone to clean it up. They sent a man in a suit with a few towels and a squirt bottle. My guess is no maids were around. I felt so bad for the guy.
We were happy until the next day around 4:30. Room service knocked on our door, with the DND sign. I politely said, no thank you though the door, but she continues to knock and ask if we were checking out. I told her that there was some confusion last night, but we were staying until tomorrow.
Almost within the minute, the front desk calls our room and asks when are we vacating the room. I explained the confusion should have been settled with Mary last night. The woman on the other line says, That s helpful, and hangs up.
Incredibly peeved, I make my way downstairs to the front desk where I see Mary, with a line of guests all to herself. This time the platinum and gold members line is open.
I overhear the room for the couple of families ahead are not ready and their dinner reservations are coming up. I finally approach the desk and explain my predicament to Mary, who then immediately gives my voucher in hand to the assistant manager, Mr. Earl Littles, and asks me to wait in the lobby.
After about 5-10 minutes of standing in the lobby, Mr. Littles approaches me and says I must call a number to have the reservation emailed to him for verification because my current reservation can not be extended.
Given that we paid an exorbant amount of money and that the hotels confusion was solved the previous night, I thought it was only right for him to call and sort it out on Westin s end. He refused to call, and gave me his business card with his email. No apologies were given through this entire ordeal. We called the service number who says our reservation was entered as 2 nights and that they would take it from there.
Suffice to say, we will no longer be using the Westin near Canal Street for any future vacations. Despite the beautiful view and it s proximity to everything, it s not worth the hassle.
Nice accessible parking and close to the French quarter
Great hotel with a top tier staff!
Room was very clean and room service was also pretty great.
The view from the main floor is incredible.
Located in the famous French Quarter, great room with an amazing view of the Mississippi River.
Very good hotel, the location is good, I like it too much, you have a good time, the room is very nice, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is very well decorated, the lobby was very nice, and the service provided in the reception was very good the truth
Value for money is OK. The hotel has a really nice lobby with a high ceiling and a really nice view over the Mississippi. The room or the bathroom seemed a bit shabby or in the case of a repair this was only on function and not on optics
