Such unfriendly staff. My 3 year old ran half way up the stairs and I had my infant in the stroller so I was trying to get her out so I could get him( he's good on stairs so I wasn't worried I just didn't want him to disturb anyone) well as I finished getting her out the librarian from upstairs yells over the balcony "you need to come up and get your child now" essentially embarrassing me and scaring my son. This isn't my first bad encounter with the staff, they just are not pleasant
Newly remodeled, staff is very helpful, wide selection
This place is very cool lots of books and water fountain
Always a great place to be. Quiet, spacious, organized, comfortable, modern look and feel, good luminosity and overall a pretty place. Enough parking, secure area as has a police and fire department nearby. Has option for online renting of books with Overdrive or Libby apps.
Libraries are supposed to be quiet but when I went to study I had a girl who came in and sat right next to me then proceeded to go in her phone with the volume up and start texting and taking pictures. Along with that I have the librarians talking and laughing amongst themselves. I assumed they would be quieting people but I guess that s not how it is anymore.
Beautiful restoration with an excellent, knowledgeable staff.
The place has good atmosphere and is organize.- The bathroom(s) seem to need more cleaning and fresher smell. - The staff is polite.
The West Springfield library is one of the city's gems. It's amazing in every way. I was and still am overwhelmed by its awesomeness.
The architecture is gorgeous. The vibe is comfortable.
Most of the staff are courteous and helpful. Whenever I've had a question or issue, a staff member has not only been knowledgeable, but also friendly, thoughtful, and cool. It's great to see a team that genuinely loves their job. They add to the welcoming, warm, hip atmosphere of the library; especially the bibliophiles at the Adult Reference desk.
The art on display throughout the library is fun to gaze upon, especially since so many types are represented. I love the Hydration Station on the 1st floor (bring your water bottle).
The library sponsors an array of workshops for kids and adults. I've been to a few free classes. One on art, the other on aromatherapy. Both were stellar; something one would typically spend a lot of money on through any Adult Education program. It's not about the money here. It's about giving back, enlightening the community, and coming together.
This place is as good as it gets I absolutely love going to the local library people are fun lots of information and great resources I give them a big thumbs up
I only went there for some questions and no complaints
It's brand new and is improved especially the copy capabilities.
The librarian upstairs was focused on whatever she was doing on her computer rather than helping us find what we were looking for. Very condescending, the worst experience I've ever had in a Library and I work in the community. I felt so embarrassed with my client and will never use this place again. I've visited many libraries that make you feel welcomed and part of the community and this one was by far the worst. Great remodelations horrible at treating people.
Always pleasant helpful staff on hand.Wonderful looking new liberty.
Great library, awesome selection of books, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would have given them five stars, but their computers operates on a different OS, and I couldn't use my flash drive to update some of my documents because they are on the windows OS
Beautiful environment, friendly staff, and a wonderful selection. Cool classes and game nights available too.
Extremely rude and unwelcoming upstairs staff. I have never had a negative experience in any library (from my local lib to the Library of Congress) but this one. Libraries are usually welcoming parts of the community but the librarians upstairs (especially the red-haired one) are extremely rude and condescending. They make you feel so unwelcome. My friend and I were so shocked and disgusted by the behavior.
Downstairs- completely different. The librarians at the desk were kind and courteous.
Everything but the teen room is good but the librarian in the teens room she was a bit rude when talking to people
