West Plaza Hotel Review

We love the location. Walking distance with the places that we want to visit. We left the car in the hotel and we just walk

I didn't think I'd used the wardrobe ,but had. I'd left some track pants there.
I enquired. I was called back Saturday. The staff used my address I'd left my credit card details and they were track and traced to me. Well done!
PS THERE WAS NO CONSTRUCTION NOISE

Generally good. Restaurant food was excellent. Only disappointment was that our room wasn't turned over (we stayed 2 nights) and when we asked for fresh towels we were given hand towels and a floor towel. I'm sure it was an honest mistake but not fun drying yourself with a floor towel.
They also lost our bags temporarily when we left them there for a couple of hours after checking out. Turned out they had been left in a different area so they were found but struck me as a little unprofessional. Second time staying there and would still definitly stay again

Great service at the front desk when checking in. Nice, warm, quiet and comfortable room. Will stay here for future visits to Wellington.

Stayed at this hotel for a conference. I left two expensive dresses behind by accident in the hotel. The dresses were not handed in by the cleaners and 'disappeared'. Obviously upsetting having items of my stolen. But what is worse hotel didn't take it seriously or accept responsibility for their staff. DO NOT STAY HERE.

I felt at home during my stay. Staff are over friendly and really helpful bathrooms are a bit old but the place is very good on every other level. P. S. Breakfast is very delicious

Great staff who are very helpful. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is lack of air conditioning. Beyond that, the rooms are good and the staff or excellent.

On arrival, the reception staff was quite stiff and unhelpful but they did make an effort after the issue was raised. The room was clean but felt a bit dated, just on the verge of needing a good refurbish. For the price we paid, the parking building view and small room was definitely not good value. The typical sort of place that, because of its central location, takes itself for a bit more than it really is.

The rooms are boring and the tv channels are not good for kids. But the water pressure is great

A bed for the night close to the CBD and some great restaurants.

Had to check out of this hotel after one night as there is no air conditioning in the rooms and they are unbearably hot and stuffy - had zero sleep. The rooms are fairly basic and run down for the price you can find much better around Wellington CBD.

Check in was easy, professional and quick. The room was clean and tidy, and more spacious than how I imagined. Whilst checking out, I met housekeeping in the hallway after checking out, they were very friendly. The staff here are very friendly overall.

Good location, but noisy. Street noise from outside and TV noise from the room next door made it hard to sleep. Inside is very dated too. Staff are friendly & helpful though.

Hotel and rooms are getting old and the staff does not have a particularly friendly dealing with the guests.
The breakfast was very manageable and not exactly of high quality.

The best thing I liked about the West Plaza Hotel was how comfortable the bed was which got it up to a 4 star. The bathroom is small and could do with an overhaul, note shower curtain. There is breakfast available downstairs, but it's in a great location for restaurants so you don't have to go far for some great breakfast or dinner places nearby. They have meeting room and a work area with WiFi which is handy for business stays. There is parking available but not a lot and the carpark is really tight.

Clean, pleasant & helpful staff, reasonable rates and central location. Will stay there again.

Good hotel very centrally located and convenient and good affordable rates

I'll never forget or forgive being booked out of this place and into the next door backpackers. Because the Sevens were on that weekend. No TV, no radio/alarm, no phone. I'm glad Wellington lost the Sevens. Puts an end to that BS.

Excellent calm friendly service, consistently good food and clean tidy rooms. Excellent value for money especially the breakfast included deals. No aircon but opening windows and fans available.

Went here for Christmas lunch. Costly. Takes the hassle out of Christmas but the food could have definitely been better.

Trying to find somewhere to park to check in was impossible. Very limited parking but ability to park next door was good. Beeakfast was terrible. Bacon inedible, hash browns too overcooked to eat. Room was ok but shower lacked any pressure. Also remote for tv only woked intermittently.

Was ok. Dated. No aircon, I had a sun facing room so it was like an oven when I got in. Limited internet and TV channels..... Very outdated ways...

Been to a conference and the service and the facilities are great..

Ideal location right next to main shopping-, entertainment-, cafe house-, government places in Wellington. 3 min. to Te Papa and right along the Oriental Bay water front parade. Nice mid-range hotel, quiet, stylish foyer, and bar.

Staff are just awesome especially on the front desk. Always looked after on my regular busns trips. Building itself is not that modern and the food is ok but I am all about the service!

Bit disappointed overpriced room was bit bitsy and small and on checkout was slapped with a $50 parking 2 nights mmm

We have stayed here 5 or 6 times when we are in Wellington, great price, good breakfasts, good staff and very central.

Great little hotel, comfortable rooms at a great price, relaxed but professional atmosphere and amazing customer service. My daughter left her jacket behind which they located and couriered back to us. Very impressed and will stay here when in welly from now on

Comfortable room. Very good food choice for breakfast. Bar was well stocked and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The dining area is small which is normally fine until a bus load of people want their breakfast at the same before departing.
The hotel is close to the centre of town so visiting tourist attractions, restaurants etc is no problem.
I enjoyed my stay.

Room OK, but extremely hot no Air-conditioning. Had to ask staff for extra fan, stayed.2 nights. Breakfast less than adequate.

The staff were all really great. Friendly, helpful, cheerful, full of smiles, efficient at their jobs. The location is pretty good too.

Facilities not as good as I was expecting. Such as no air con in the room, only one light switch for the main lights - by the door, limited convenient jack points for charging computer, home, etc.

Also, at breakfast coffee was only lukewarm and selection of continental not very good considering the price.

But knowing all that, I probably would consider staying there again, mainly because of the great staff.

Nice budget hotel, large clean room. Friendly reception and bar staff. Parking $25 at the Wilson round the corner. Breakfast also expensive at $25 each plus extra for drinks (instead come out of the hotel and turn left or right and there s plenty of places to eat at a more reasonable price)

Great Location, short walk from Te Papa museum, Cable car and Cuba St. Friendly staff and lovely meals at the restaurant.

Hi it was handy to central Wellington an Te Papa lot's of shopping very close to West Plaza Hotel

Stayed in a 3 bed room with a school group. Clean, well appointed, but simple. Provides UHT milk in rooms for tea and coffee, but they provide a small jug of real milk if you ask. Lovely staff, really accommodating.

No airconditioning, decor is a bit dated but clean and otherwise comfortable

OK....but floors uneven so not good for my ankles. Food and staff good.
