Our Annual Pass Plus' have just expired.

Our Annual Pass Plus' have just expired.

We live about an 1hr 15mins away and I the annual passes last April, for myself and my son. We have been 5 times (it was extended because of Covid).
Our first four visits were okay. The only hiccup was on our second visit my son fell on Bojs Park and grazed his neck quite badly. I carried him up to the Helter Skelter ride to ask for assistance form first aid, which they radioed through and was told my only option was to carry him to the first aid station by the animal discover hut. This wasn't great as I had a screaming five year old to carry and he isn't the lightest. Wasn't ideal and I think the staff could have helped more.

Our fifth and final visit was very disappointing. We went Saturday 19th September. This time we took my mother, who has mobility issues. She doesn't use a wheelchair in general but needs to to visit places like this.
We were advised to join the Safari by the entrance staff 'before it got too busy' (about 11am) I challenged this as I could already see the the queue and was told that if we waited any longer we'd be in for over two hours. I said it already looked like it was over two hours and was assured it wasn't. We went in the Safari and came out nearly three hours later.
My son and I had never been when the park was this busy, so we saw a different side of things. On the safari we queued for ages and finally got near the dear. We stopped to feed one and a ranger came and chased us forward, particularly annoying as we hadn't actually come near an animal for a good 25 mins at that point. We then saw a ranger actually bump into a deer in one of their Jeeps. They were driving around like lunatics chasing the animals away from the cars to keep the queue going. Spoilt it really.
It was a shame the Giraffe and Zebra were penned in, it was much better when they were free roaming.

Just before six we went to the food kiosk by the wristband ticket office.
They only had a few bowls of chips left, so I tried to buy those and was told we'd be better going to the main plaza as they were open til 6.30. I said it was okay, that we'd just take the chips and the lady insisted that we went to the main plaza. We got there and it was only the waffle shop and sweet shop open. We were all a bit upset as we were starving at this point.
If my first visit had been like this, I wouldn't have bought the annual passes, and due to how poor this visit was, I won't be renewing as planned.

Tips:
Go on a weekday.
Buy the wristbands only if children are above 1.2 metres.
Go to the loo before the safari. Also take drink and snacks.
Take drinks and a picnic. The food is overpriced and not really that nice.

Great day out. For the price you can go back for free with a return ticket. We recommend you go early morning or late afternoon to avoid blockages. Great array of animals to see. Can go at your own speed. Attractions are good and would recommend for under 14s. Downsides, people unnecessarily blocking the road around the safari.

Maybe charge more and repair things?

Awesome place I love coming here. It's quite pricey which is somewhat nullified by the free return ticket they give you, however it is worth the money for a day out that is different from any other. Feeding the animals by hand is a thrilling experience, seeing Lions and Tigers up close is an incredible feeling. Highly recommended.

Loved the mixture of a safari Park and a little theme park, in the safari park the rangers were everywhere to keep a check on the animals, the giraffes were amazing and the lions on pride Rock was like out of a film. The rides were good as you only pay for what your children can go on according to height plus you get to come back to go round the safari park again for free. A great family day out.

Amazing place for kids and adults, lots of impressively friendly animals on the Safari, after that you can go to the theme park and at the same time you can see lots of other animals around. Quite good priced and plenty of food / drinks / options available, a perfect day out for everyone!

This was a nice day out for the children. If a bit expensive, with cost of getting in plus cost of arm bands .
But the 'fast food service was bad.We waiting 20 min to get served, we then had to wait another 20 min for our order to be filled.
And when the order came the box marked fish was a burger. .Then after waited another 10 min. for the fish it was very crispy on the out side but the fish was cold in the middle.
A refund was given but 50 min to get food gives a whole new meaning to the term 'fast food' and in the end one member of our party ended up with no food. Not good.
Just like to say it was not that there were not enough servers there were 6-7 at front of house just not very organised.

Do not go there if you don't want to waste time. Useless staff and nothing to see. Any zoo will show you more animals that you can see in this empty farm. Spent all day driving around this empty farm and cars do not move for over 30 minutes - discting.

Lots of animals, good staff and good food outlets. The seal show gets massivley oversubscribed though and alot of people go away dissapointed. There just isn't enough room to accomodate everyone at busy times. Maybe they should put more shows on?

Whoever thought it would be a good idea to get a bunch of these beautiful majestic creatures from these lush exotic climates and put them in the bloody midlands i'll never understand.
Some of the animals are very obviously really, really, really not enjoying their life there. The cheetah was in a cage too small for it, anxiously pacing up and down the same worn track along the side over and over. The meerkats must near freeze to death in the winter and have to huddle under a handful of heat lamps when they're forced outside to be on show for the gawking humans. I found out that at night the giraffes are all rounded into a tiny building that just simply cannot be comfortable for them. On top of that, none of the rides look well maintained enough for me to feel comfortable letting my children ride them. Only saving grace was that most of the staff were ok if a bit jaded and the ungulates looked happy enough, but then now that i think about it, it's probably quite hard to make a goat miserable really.

Picked a good day to go! Last time stroke a Zebra even though they can bite and made friends with long horn cow as we can scratch the parts on head he can't reach! And the others got friendly with the camels! We had potato and bolognese and I spoke to chippie about what I learned at shop in Northampton!

Good day out. Lots to see and do. Drive through takes much longer than you think it will at busy times (nearly 3 hours) so plan ahead or go very early or later in the day. Return visit for free makes entry fee worth it.

Good place to go. During the holidays gets very busy. The drive around can take a while it took us two hours. Nice to see the animals. Every time you go the animals can be doing different things as once we saw the lions running and playing that was great and the children loved it. The thing I don't like is it's quite expensive and then you pay for all the rides. Yes you get a free return trip which makes it better but unless you plan on coming back it's expensive.
