I mean this from the bottom of my heart, every single professor that I came in contact with cared about the student and learning more than I could imagine. It has been my experience that the professors are truly the model for higher education. Is it possible that you will run into some who don't care as much? of course. In life it is hard to claim absolutes and I don't think it's fair to talk about or speak for a majority without actual proof. I gradated spring 2012 & was molded into a person that is hungry to help change the society and I singlehandedly owe that to my experience at A&T. Like any large university, you will have to make sure that you stay on top of your own game. HBCU's are typically smaller than A&T (A&T being the largest or second largest, I forget). Because of the size of the university and department (depending), you SHOULD learn responsibility. I am personally thankful for that element being in place so I wouldn't stay lazy and procrastinate. On top of the education that you will receive, A&T of course has a rich black and social history! Another plus is the fact that you will enjoy your self! We know how to have a good time and we have the most pride out of any school on the face of the earth! AGGIE PRIDE!

Horrible, I get the feeling I'm going to get robbed, and the literal first time I left my dorm door unlocked someone stole my microwave and laptop. I was in the bathroom and they stole those while I went pee... They had to of been literally watching me to see when I left and if I locked the door.

Great school! I got my BA in Supply Chain Management & Logistics and have been in that field ever since! We have one of the largest career fairs, if not the largest, out of any school in NC. I was offered two internships at the career fair and after graduation I went back to recruit for my company. There are so many connections to be made and we all want to help each other! A&T taught me "how to think" as oppose to "what to think". Great school! Couldn't see myself going anywhere else!

Shaudy0430 is full of crap. The first years of undergrad engineering are the fundemental courses which are taught no matter where you go and are very relevant and necessary if you want to work the projects junior and senior years. I graduated last december in mechanical engineering and did find work in my field as did most of my classmates.

I'm a freshmen NCAT20. Enjoyed my experience thus far due to friends. Not much to do on campus yet. However with the new student center close to be finished hopefully that will change. If your looking for a school to come to NCAT is the place.

I arrived to A&T as a naive boy from Durham, NC and graduated as a man ready to take on the work force. A&T challenged me intellectually while also teaching me important lessons about life. I wouldn't have had it any other way. Aggie Pride!

Most people go to this school for degrees in English, business, or entry level medical related fields. I attended for a more difficult to obtain degree, engineering. With that said, the engineering programs have been outdated for years. It seems that if you do not have a major within the business or nursing program, your degree will not have prepared you for work in your prospective field of study. I studied both architectural engineering and computer sciences, moving from fairly uninteresting architecture studies toward the more fun computer science program. From the beginning it was shown that neither one of those programs would have a heavy focus on the concepts of the major until just before the final year of study. One would spend at least half of their college career on irrelevant course material, and would have left A&T with an undergraduate level of understanding that would be of little use in a graduate level program. If you want a degree that will hold some relevancy after graduating, and one which you can fully expand upon, I would highly recommend a trade school or specialty school related to the preferred major of study.

Most schools' degrees are not truly worth all of the debt they bring upon their students, and this university is too far from having degrees that are worth what it costs to get them. I left in favor of MITA (Microsoft IT Academy), and couldn't have described, even with words, just how far behind A&T was when it came to 'real world' preparation for engineering students. I spent absolutely no extra time or money on unrelated courses, and nearly all of my course work at A&T was deemed irrelevant and non-transferable toward an engineering degree there. HBCU's have long since abandoned the principle of preparing minorities for the working world, both in a costly and educationally efficient manner. They have turned into schools that operate nearly solely for profit, and the exploitation of student resources that can potentially bring in more profit (Band programs, sports programs, etc). I would simply urge anyone to consider a different school.

I am a graduate student and I've studied at Colorado State University, University of Central Florida, a graduate school outside of the US and Valencia Community College. A&T is THE WORST school that I've ever seen in my life.
Extremely disorganized, very low quality education, very low graduation rate, full of drug, and...list goes on and on...
Graduated students are not marketable and hardly can find job. Even the ones who study hard don't have much of luck finding a job after graduation just because they have received their degree from A&T.
I will quit after this semester is over or try to transfer somewhere else..

HBCU pride flows heavy from this school. The Greensboro 4 were students here. If you don't know who they are take time to research their story. This school is well known for its engineering program but there are several curriculum to choose from.

I haven t visited this school as of yet but I feel as if your college experience is what you make it personally. I feel as that if your African American you need to attend a HBCU because PWI s (Perdominately White Institutions) have nothing to really offer you. HBCU s will teach you about real history and actual events rather than fictional stories of Europeans Americans that PWI s teach about. I also feel as if this institution has some good and bad traits but again it depends on how you make your own experiences. I ve only read about this HBCU and I ve fallen in love with this HBCU while reading information on it and taking to some alumni and I truly believe this institution is pretty amazing.
Sincerely a prospective student!

I was suppose to attend back in '89, but my acceptance letter arrived 9 yrs later, and by that time I was starting a Masters degree program at the best HBCU, NCCU!! Anyway, did you know the mastermind behind '93 WTC bombings and 9/11 attended A&T? WOW...... They lose 2 stars for that decision!!!!

I am about half way through my graduate degree at A&T. I can say, like at least one other reviewer, that the Professors make all the difference in the world. Every last one is deeply concerned about your learning. The thing that sets them apart from my two undergrad schools and one other grad school is that the professors are 1. MANY industry professionals turned to teaching and 2. VERY involved in turning your education at A&T into a job. They have connections and job fairs like no other. It is an HBCU. I am not a minority and it makes no difference to me. I love my school and have recommended it to others.

Simply the Best! The atmosphere you experience here will be like no other. Unless you're an Aggie, you may not understand. A&T has its shortcomings, but that's the same for any university. A&T is very serious about professionally developing students and I know a large majority of the people that I graduated with have job opportunities waiting for them. Class of '15; AGGIE PRIDE!

Great Engineering School, that graduates more African American engineers than any other university. A&T has an awesome computer science program, and the only HBCU with a Computer Science PhD program. It is also a real family environment, I love it here.
