West Des Moines Public Library Reviews

My son is an avid reader and goes through a lot of books, I do not know where we would be without the Library. We moved into the neighborhood a few years back and discovered what a Library should be. Our previous Librarian was always helpful in finding books, but never at suggesting them. There are 2 Librarians that changed everything for us, Miss Jena and Miss Betsy, they are able to give great reading suggestions to my son week after week. Prior to meeting these 2 young ladies, we were constantly struggling to find him things to read. They will even go ahead and put new stuff on hold for him that they think he will be interested in, which is always pleasant surprise when we check our holds. My son is getting older now and has been reading the young adult stuff, but we still start at the kids desk during our weekly visits.

Everyone that works at the West Des Moines library is very friendly and goes out of their way to be helpful. I ve been to some libraries from different places in the US..but this one is the best so far... Calm, spacious, comfortable chairs and well organized.. with a very big book collection.. And the view from the Windows is awesome.. Such positive energy around..!! Loved this place..!!

I haven't been here for a long time, but it was a modern, lovely and helpful library. Their book selection was quite good.

so great that the library is finally open again! It's also nice that they are offering masks ... I had forgotten mine.

I spend many hours here with my teenage daughter perusing mostly the manga and arts/crafts how-to books. Always friendly and helpful staff, easy check-out kiosks everywhere. Occasionally we rent a movie. Lucky to have this quality library so close to home.

I love this library! It's got all the things a library needs and the location is great with a walking path and pond nearby.

Mindy is an amazing employee. She is friendly and welcoming to everyone. Jenna and the Male in that area are apathetic and sometimes rude. Please hire more employees like Mindy she is truly a gem!
