Very clean// great staff!!! Friendly wait was long but certainly worth it.

Pretty good seafood. This place will always have a fond place in my memories as it was the first place I found out my husbands love for seafood.

My wife and I just left there a little while ago. We are on our honeymoon and are staying nearby. We were craving seafood, so I Googled nearby seafood restaurants and found the West Ashley Crab Shack. We walked in and was greeted by a friendly man named Kenny. We were promptly seated and brought drinks. I ordered the fried flounder and shrimp while my wife ordered fried shrimp and crab cakes. Being picky seafood eaters, we didn't know what to expect, however, we were overwhelmingly happy with our food! It was exactly what we were looking for! We both received heaping portions and couldn't finish it all, which was sad because it was so good. A man, whom I assume was the owner, came by to personally check on us and thank is for coming in. Between the excellent food, great service, and atmosphere, we couldn't have been more pleased in our selection for dinner. Thank you West Ashley Crab Shack!

Very overpriced. A while back my family came into town and my sister ordered crab legs. They were priced at an upwards of 40$ I believe. Overall not very impressed. Seems like you could get their selection at any seafood restaurant.

We had a party of 4 and arrived around 4:30 pm for dinner. Our waitresses name was Morgan. She was very attentive but seemed to be unfamiliar with the menu; as we had many questions she could not answer. We were from out of town and expected to enjoy some quality seafood; being in Charleston. We were seated in a timely manner and we ordered our drinks. One of us ordered sweet tea and noticed several pieces of chives floating in the bottom. Yuck. Our She Crab Soup came out before our entree (like expected) and it was delicious. Shortly thereafter, our entrees were brought. One entree was a Fried Oyster plate with coleslaw and french fries. Given the prices on the menu, we'd expected select oysters but we received small ones instead...about the size of a nickle or even smaller. This was not up to our expectations and we were disappointed. Another entree was the Tomato Pie with Shrimp. It seemed to have been cooked earlier in the day and microwaved before being served. Our Fried Shrimp plate with coleslaw and french fries was good. The Shrimp and Grits were good as well. It could've been a little warmer because it seemed as if it had been sitting for a while before being served. When I received a refill for my Sweet tea, I was poured Unsweetened instead. The most impressing thing about the restaurant to us was the salt hand scrubs in the bathroom. Wouldn't recommend eating here again.

Our family really enjoyed our lunch here with my parents. The restaurant had easy accessibility with a fun atmosphere. I loved the Crabby Charlie sandwich. It was literally the sandwich I was describing that I wished existed on our way to Charleston. We ll definitely be back and look forward to sampling more of the menu.

The hushpuppies & fries were good. The fish was not so good. Also didn't like that the server had double the charge for sweet tea on the bill. It was great that the owner took the time to reach out, show concern and compensate. On my next visit I had a fish sandwich & fries and the food was very good!

Absolutely delightful, had several drinks that were great. Definitely recommend blue crab-stuffed flounder. The staff was very friendly.

I came here for my birhday last night. I was disappointed that the crab bucket, only included 2 clusters and was 36.99.

Wonderful service and fresh tasting seafood! As a party of 2, we were seated immediately after being greeted with warm welcomes. The restaurant was clean and smelled alright. Our waiter arrived within seconds and was very attentive during our entire stay. He had good suggestions and was knowledgeable about what they have to offer. The food was brought out within a reasonable amount of time. The buffalo shrimp appetizer was divine and we ordered the minor cluster shuck with the frogmore stew tray. The steamed crab legs were cold, but other than that the food was great! We will definitely be returning, especially for the buffalo shrimp!

Very good food. We ate night before Thanksgiving. The kitchen and staff were short-handed, so we were there a long time, but it was worth the wait. The food was excellent. The stuffed flounder and crab cakes were really good.

Tasty, but small portions. Way overpriced, the clam meat is dime to nickel size, oysters aren't much better. Staff was cordial, but not friendly. Servings aren't as pictured. Delicious food, but we will never go back.

This was my last restaurant experience before flying back home and oh boy, it was excellent. Service was fast and really friendly, food arrived in short time and I just love the fresh seafood. I will definetly go again when I am in Charleston area. Thank you!
