I love the Wellington Zoo it is constantly improving itself! We come back once a year and there is always something new to see. The animals all look happy the enclosures are secure and look like great places to live. The talk times are interesting and informative. Wellington Zoo is a must do in the capital city.

Great place to spend a day. Great selection of animals, well spaced out with a lot of other activities spaced out in between the animal enclosures. Nice themes about conservative which the kids can interact with.

The zoo was pretty great, and free for the month which was amazing.
Lots to do and see. If you have the time I recommend spending 2 hours here to get a good chance to see everything, that being said a few exhibits were closed so maybe a bit longer, especially if you enjoy reading all about the animals.
Lots of children around so be ready for that.

Great zoo, went there LOTS when I was younger. Would recommend this to anyone with children if your in the area. My favourite part is the zoo animal bins that are asking to be fed rubbish.

A great place for all ages. Loads to see and do, well spaced out with plenty of room and a good map to follow in a logical direction. Approx $27 adult and $12 child. Note parking is only on surrounding streets so recommend to get there earlier

The layout and enclosures were good, the Sun bear and giraffes were a highlight, really posing for photos. Plenty of extra play options for kids, allow a good fews hours to get around everything. But would recommend the Mojo cafe above the Grazing place that was mainly chips and nachos, just quick heat and eat stuff, or better still take you own food, dont go there during a main meal time.

Really good zoo. The animals are well cared for and housed in habitats, not cages. Staff are welcoming and very friendly (knowledgeable too). There's no question a revisit is on the cards.

Had not been for way too many years, went with grandchildren and their parents totally blown away. The new look zoo is amazing not sure who enjoyed the day the most kids or grandparents. Looking forward to next visit. Next time will take a picnic.

Ha e done the cheetah encounter and the red panda encounter. Both were incredible once in a life time experiences. Not a lot of zoos do this, but it was well worth the price. Knowledgable keepers who were clearly engaged with the animals.

Smaller than I thought it would be, but a great little zoo. Maybe this is the normal size for a city this size and they just seemed huge as a kid... Follow the trainer talks around to get a better experience of the animals that are a bit shy or sleep during the day.

This zoo is clean, well looked after and on top of a hill. On the day of visit, parking was a problem, but in all fairness there were two events on the day at the zoo.

People visiting look happy and interested. The wind was fairly strong( they say this is normal in Wellington), so keep this in mind when dressing children. The hill paths are fairly steep and pushing a pram/stroller up hill + wind can become a daunting task.

The animals I'll rate as standard, but I was bit disappointed with the birds. There is a section where selected animals were walking freely(with zoo keepers) un-caged and this were a hit with the children.
