I thought it would be satisfying to see only KIWI, but Kangaroo touched it!

Saw almost all of the animals, those who not sleeping. Clean and so much space. Everyone; animals, staff and patrons were all happy.
I love the Wellington Zoo it is constantly improving itself! We come back once a year and there is always something new to see. The animals all look happy the enclosures are secure and look like great places to live. The talk times are interesting and informative. Wellington Zoo is a must do in the capital city.
A great day out with children. Lots of interactive activities.
Never see anything cool.we go once a month at varying times and I have never seen the penguins and very rarely see cool stuff like lions, tigers and bears.........oh my. Definitely just for the kids.
Pretty average, I guess most of the animals are hiding from the cold, lots of refurbishment going on so will be good for summer I'm sure
Awesome time here, great fun lots to see. Definitely stop in next time you're in Wellies!
Awesome layout only thing bad is the coffee table within the zoo not always cleaned
Clean and always well looked after. Perfect place for the kids to spend the day.
Great place to spend a day. Great selection of animals, well spaced out with a lot of other activities spaced out in between the animal enclosures. Nice themes about conservative which the kids can interact with.
Awesome morning visit. Saw the main animals. Great for the kids and getting a little exercise. Recommend.
Very educational through out the park, staff are lovely and I loved the feeling of being within nature whilst being in a city!
Great place to visit. Can spend a couple of hours or make it a whole day experience.
Awesome day out with our two kids the four of us loved it!!! Great staff always happy to stop & help & tell us about the animals even if not a talk time - thank you for making our day that much better!!
Great verity of animals. Lots of places to stop and have a picnic and a play. Easy to navigate. Loved it!!
Super amazing, definitely a must go to while in Wellington.
The zoo was pretty great, and free for the month which was amazing.
Lots to do and see. If you have the time I recommend spending 2 hours here to get a good chance to see everything, that being said a few exhibits were closed so maybe a bit longer, especially if you enjoy reading all about the animals.
Lots of children around so be ready for that.
Great zoo, went there LOTS when I was younger. Would recommend this to anyone with children if your in the area. My favourite part is the zoo animal bins that are asking to be fed rubbish.
This place is good the children my kids really enjoyed it being able to see all the animals didn t like all the walking but they got through it
Great place to visit. Need to be fit as there are hills
Well it's improved alot and an ok place to visit. Kinda feel sorry for the animals though.
A great place for all ages. Loads to see and do, well spaced out with plenty of room and a good map to follow in a logical direction. Approx $27 adult and $12 child. Note parking is only on surrounding streets so recommend to get there earlier
Loved it. Cool animals. Be quiet around the Kiwis!!!!
Kids do love the zoo. Was good to see the penguins this afternoon
I thought there was supposed to be animals at a zoo, but apparently it's a zoo for trees 2/5 would take a 5 year old.
Great little zoo but let down by lack of food service. Over priced and it took an age to be served on a busy day
The layout and enclosures were good, the Sun bear and giraffes were a highlight, really posing for photos. Plenty of extra play options for kids, allow a good fews hours to get around everything. But would recommend the Mojo cafe above the Grazing place that was mainly chips and nachos, just quick heat and eat stuff, or better still take you own food, dont go there during a main meal time.
I work as a nanny just down the road, and have a zoo crew card, so I am always here. Love this place.
Really good zoo. The animals are well cared for and housed in habitats, not cages. Staff are welcoming and very friendly (knowledgeable too). There's no question a revisit is on the cards.
Had not been for way too many years, went with grandchildren and their parents totally blown away. The new look zoo is amazing not sure who enjoyed the day the most kids or grandparents. Looking forward to next visit. Next time will take a picnic.
My first time in Wellington Zoo. Amazing and interesting animals.. Beautiful creatures created by God.
Gotta love Wellington zoo. The animals seem happy, the space is beautiful.
Do a close encounter if you can.
Very nice zoo! Friendly guides/staff. Posibility to pet animals and get really close to them (Giraffes, wallabies, farm animals...)
Ha e done the cheetah encounter and the red panda encounter. Both were incredible once in a life time experiences. Not a lot of zoos do this, but it was well worth the price. Knowledgable keepers who were clearly engaged with the animals.
A must do in Wellington. Good variety of animals in spacious enclosures. Yet animals are still easily visible to visitors
We had a great day at the zoo. The grounds are well cared for, the staff are very helpful and the talks about animals were great. We will be back.
Fantastic place for kids and very educational for everyone
Great place to take the littlies. Great family day out...
Love the new map it colour codes the gradients. Make sure you have plenty of time if you take kids
Animals go oogoogaga and this is a big plus.
Sometimes they get out of their cages. :(
Smaller than I thought it would be, but a great little zoo. Maybe this is the normal size for a city this size and they just seemed huge as a kid... Follow the trainer talks around to get a better experience of the animals that are a bit shy or sleep during the day.
Been here few times.. place is getting better each time we come around but parking still a nightmare.
Good price, good talks, nice view and cute animals. What's not to love. (Only tip is to come early if you drive, street parking only)
Favourite spot in Wellington. Lovely zoo keepers and fantastic to see the eco zoo
Not very good no animals out won't even give it a rateing the chimps look bored or old no tigers brown bare not to be seen wast off time having a zoo in Wellington give animals away to better zoos and the land could be used for Wellington housing shortage
Great family experience. Admission cost higher than expected. Our children loved being able to feed animals at feeding time. Lovely cafe
Beautiful day and setting for our animal adventure.
Great place. We had fun but parking was a problem. We have to left the car a few blocks away
The best zoo I've been too, the animals look happy with plenty of free space and the zoo is set up really well. Very very impressed. Well worth a visit, but it is a little expensive.
Very disappointed with the food at the little shop. Not setup for the huge amount of customers and most of all the sandwich was not fresh and no butter for $5
Really nice zoo with plenty to see. Well laid out, healthy looking animals, helpfull staff and a good cafe. Worth the visit.
This zoo is clean, well looked after and on top of a hill. On the day of visit, parking was a problem, but in all fairness there were two events on the day at the zoo.
People visiting look happy and interested. The wind was fairly strong( they say this is normal in Wellington), so keep this in mind when dressing children. The hill paths are fairly steep and pushing a pram/stroller up hill + wind can become a daunting task.
The animals I'll rate as standard, but I was bit disappointed with the birds. There is a section where selected animals were walking freely(with zoo keepers) un-caged and this were a hit with the children.
Was OK, probably wasn't the best day to go as most animals weren't visible as they were under shade.
Great zoo with lots of fun talks about all the different animals. Great day out
Awesome experience. Everything was super clean and well maintained.
Small but very nicely layed out.A new giraffe has arrived from Oz. Able to look at them very closely. Animal talks are very informative.
Fantastic zoo. Would recommend the Keas show they are great fun!
