An outstanding brunch spot in the heart of Ballarat. We had the Rueben bagel and breakfast plate, both were delicious. We came during the morning rush (10am), but staff still managed to seat us quickly and wait on us well. Would recommend, check it out.
Being from out of town, a dear friend of ours who is a local recommended this place to grab a good coffee before heading home on Easter Sunday, 4/4/21. We love a good coffee and were super keen! Perhaps two minutes after we arrived (and were standing right in front of him at the counter) a man asked how we were and then strangely proceeded to ignore us while he continued to make coffees. He was busy, but we felt unwelcome, in the way and it was awkward when we had to wait 3-4 minutes before anyone asked us if they could help. Meanwhile, locals were grabbing their orders and were greeted with warmth as they collected their order - a very different vibe. I order coffee on a daily basis and I've never had an experience like this before. When we were finally served, before we were even able to place an order we were warned that there was at least a TWENTY minute wait for any coffee! We turned around and walked out, as did the couple after us. Luckily, we got great coffee at The Lane in Ballarat city centre. Very disappointed with the unwelcome, "we don't care if you stay or leave because we're really busy/full" vibe!
Delicious food, but the service took ages and our coffee was Spilled multiple times. Great place for a casual lunch, but I wouldn't go hunting it down as it surely isn't the best cafe in the area.
Happy to find a place that was dog friendly, unfortunately waited 45 minutes for coffee that never came.
Went here early on a Sunday morning and it was beautiful. Lovey little cafe nestled in a open suburban residential street. Beautiful falling leaves and Great coffee. The staff were awesome, so happy and chirpy. Prices on their menu were very reasonable and the place wasn t too busy. I feel like it was a really warm cosy place with good volume and plenty of seating. Give it a go.
Had a great atmosphere and all the staff looked happy and friendly (particularly Kylie) Had pork in a bagel, my friend had a burger and a wine. Wish I d had a coffee. All delicious. Will go again next time in Ballarat. Particularly liked that it wasn t in a shopping street. Highly recommended..
Heading back home to SA; we stopped again at Webster's for breakfast as it was good last time. It was just as good this time too, with friendly helpful service and great food. The locals seemed to be popping in to grab a takeaway coffee, which of course is always a good sign. Would certainly recommend this place.
Where regulars are warmly welcomed and embraced, yet newbies are ignored. This was my experience at Webster's.... while waiting to order I was ignored by all staff and regulars were acknowledged I was undecided about whether to cut my losses. I made the silly move of staying and regretted it. I saw a number of people order after me receive their coffees before me.... eventually I had had enough and approached a staff member who told me that my order was "next". When I mentioned I saw people order after me had already got their coffee I was presented with an excuse that these people had ordered online..... What a crock. I cut my losses and asked for my money back which took longer to be processed than my original order. In summary... don't bother with this place if you have not become a regular......
Food was excellent and the service was great. The chai is a also a must try.
