This museum is amazing. It truly is focused on Walt, and not on the company, except in context of his life. Nothing that occurred after he died with respect to the company is mentioned. They show various films every month. The theater for this is very well maintaned and is excellent. The cafe is a bit limited, but not a big problem.

I wish I had more time there. It starts off very neat and gets way cooler near the end. It includes a model of Disneyland as Walt himself knew it. Cable cars of two styles and everything.

This is a great place for adults or anyone interested in animation. This is not a place for small children simply because they like cartoon characters. This museum is about Walt Disney and his life and skills. It is an excellent exhibit.

An amazing museum for anyone that is a fan of Disney. The amount of detail they have in the exhibits is amazing. As you walk through the museum you see all of Walt Disney's life. From when he was a kid, all the way to when he passed. Their food they serve was also really good too! Highly recommended!

The museum is excellently organised, clean and pleasant to be in. The exhibits enthrall our young kids. It's an excellent place to hang out on a weekday if your with your kids and need a break.

If you love Walt Disney, this is a great place to see items from his life. The miniature of Disneyland Park is really cool.. I stood there for a long time taking pictures. Photos were allowed but without flash.

Perfect place for the Disney buff or even the casual Disney viewer. I was absolutely blown away by the different ways this museum displays the moments in Walt's life. You'll come away with such a deep admiration for all the hard work that went into making the early Disney films come to life.

The location is also unbelievable. If you're able to visit on a sunny day in San Francisco, you'll catch some amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge as well as the city. The Presidio is hands down one of my favorite places to visit, and the Disney Family Museum is the cherry on top.

A wonderful look at Walt's life. Takes a couple of hours to see everything. The kids got a little bored because there isn't a lot of hands on things, so I don't recommend it for little ones.

I came here for just the gift shop after my visit to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was about a half hour walk from the bridge to the museum but felt short as there was beautiful scenery to see.

The museum gift shop had lots to see as well including artwork, Disney awards over the years, and a cafe to chill at. The whole facility was very clean and modern looking.

As for the gift shop itself, there were lots of souvenirs, books, and historical related products to buy. If you decide to go to the actual museum, I believe it is about $35.00 for admission.

For those who are fascinated by Disney and are in tune with English, it is worth paying $ 25 per person and getting to know Walt Disney's history, seeing many personal objects, and the animation process of the first Disney drawings. The structure is well organized and the Museum is inside the Presidio in San Francisco. The bus for about 800 meters away and the walk is worth it for seeing beautiful places inside the Presidio.

Really interesting insight into the life and creative journey of Walt Disney and his family. The number of times they picked themselves up and started again was inspiring. We appreciated the Disney legacy far more after our visit. We were also thrilled to be there on Walt Disney's birthday, so entry was free!!

Very cool museum about Walt Disney, not a whole lot for my 2 and 4 year old so we went through it fairly quickly but would be a lot of fun for older kids and adults. The Disney Land room was definitely the highlight for us.

We enjoy this museum so much we bought a membership. This is about Walt's life, his challenges is creating and running Disney Studios. It also shows some of the industry changes and innovations he was responsible for.

A beautiful museum in the heart of the Presidio with a stunning view of the Golden Gate. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not too crowded at all. Commit about 1-2 hours and you'll be great.

The museum provides a strong understanding of the life of Disney as opposed to just Disney World/Land.

Very thorough and detailed recount of Walt Disney's life and work, not personally that interested in the the man but I still found it very interesting. Would recommend a visit but not with young children - not really focused on Disney characters but rather their creator.

Took the family here and had a great time peruseing through Walt Disney's (Walter E. Disney) life. Very enlightening on one of the most prolific men beforeb our time. Highly recommended if you grew up Watching Disney. Nothing on Marvel Studios or Star Wars. Just the man, his family, and that incredible dream of his.

I had the opportunity to visit the museum on a Sunday in September. The environment created in the garrison area (picnic area) is appreciable. The museum is specifically organized to perfection, I personally visited a temporary exhibition (Nine Old Men) and from the perceived quality I can recommend the complete visit of the museum. The costs are slightly high ($ 25) so I recommend the visit to an audience interested in the subject.

For us as big Disney fans, the museum was a must. A nice exhibition with the family history of Walt Disney. The additional exhibition for the 90th birthday of Mickey Mouse is highly recommended. We really enjoyed it. As a souvenir there was also a shirt and a magnet from the souvenir shop.

A real dive into Walt Disney's life, the ups and downs of his creative and personal life. Everything is shown, from his trophies, to his characters design, family pictures, even war propaganda and strike signs. It's very interesting and worth the entry price. Activities for kids, movies extracts, many sitting areas, a Cafe and accessible restrooms. Staff is helpful and very polite. You can get your coat hanged while you visit. A pleasant visit, very well designed and faithful to history.

It was nice inside, with lots of information about Walt's early life, but as a family of 7 it was a little expensive for what they had in display. Kids 5 and under get in free, so that helped a little. Overall it was a good experience and the Presidio grounds are cool to see.

We were engrossed in Walt's family history, his early life, early art and animation career and the development of Disney studio's big projects including the feature films and Disneyland. Fascinating and very well done.

Oh man. This museum. If you're ever around the Presidio do yourself a favor and set aside a few hours to explore this place. If you're not in the neighborhood, hightail it over because it's a magical experience for both Disney fans and hard-core Disney buffs alike. There's a core gallery with tons of memorabilia that guides you through Walt Disney's beginnings, his ambitions, the birth of Walt Disney Studios and the parks, and much more. There are also special exhibitions and featured events as well. The gift shop also has a ton of unique items.

This is *not* Disneyland of Northern California. In fact Disneyland is probably 1/3 of what you'll see here. Also, while on the topic, bringing small children might not be the best idea.

Now as an adult who goes to Disneyland regularly, this was a fantastic treat to see how Walt and his family came to be. You literally follow his entire life from downstairs, to up, and back downstairs.

Like I said, the Disneyland piece of it is not the majority of his life and so seeing how he was involved in the first and second World Wars and what led him to get into drawing was awesome. On top of that he solved problems by being the first to sync sound to cartoons as well as give depth to certain shots with a layered camera rig.

Very informative and you get a treat towards the end with a beautiful view - I won't spoil it.

Come here, just don't bring young kids because there's a lot of reading.

All I can say is that we didn't want to leave!!! What an AWESOME museum and tribute to the legacy of Walt Disney. The museum is just fabulous and of course, it's nestled in beautiful San Francisco. (The Golden Gate Bridge can be seen directly behind it! ) What a view!!
Any Disney fan like me and my family, would appreciate a visit to the museum. I can't think of words to describe how great this place is. As much as we visit and love all Disney Parks, it's great to know the history and know more about the "Man Behind The Magic! " What a treat!
I HIGHLY recommend everyone to visit if they are in the San Francisco area.
WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!

The museum is a lot bigger than I expected and there's a lot of information and details that are pretty cool. I didn't try the food but it smelled good, the gift shop is small and very pricey. The tickets are also expensive. There's no characters or any Disney type of attraction, because it's a museum not a theme park. The museum is about Walt Disney not Disneyland. The grounds are nice and the views from the back of the museum are pretty cool. There's a large grassy area accross the street that also has amazing views.

Went to the small lower level theater to see Snow White. All fine, no problem. Did not go into the museum proper given the fairly steep $25 per adult fee plus childre with no discounts/package price for having already paid for the movie.

It's free once a year on Walt Disney's birthday, so it was my good reason to go to the Presidio to visit the Walt Disney Museum. I learned a lot about the life of Walt Disney and the challenges and excitement he had over the years in becoming such a worldwide success. Since it's not really focused on entertaining very small children, I think I enjoyed it more than I expected. I watched an interesting film special about Walt Disney, which I think was only showing that day on his birthday. They show other movies throughout the year, and you can go in and out as you please from the theater. The location is remote and the museum cafe is really tiny, so I'd suggest eating lunch or taking a packed lunch before you go visit there.
